Some of you are acting like children. Diana is a legendary artist. Whitney is a legendary artist. They are of two different generations. Whitney is the voice of the MTV era. The last 20 years of the 20th century. That's the era which pop music historians refer to when placing her in the context of her time. She's the definitive voice of her generation. Some bring up other names in the 90's but with The Bodyguard she owns that decade's most iconic moment. The biggest selling album of the 90's.

@supremes1964 Diana is a great entertainer with some great music in her career, specially with the Supremes. But When it Comes to Voice and singing skills You should Know that singers like Patti, or Aretha, or Whitney are much more into the Soul and Gospel tradition and they know how to take on a simple melody and make it, not only emotional, but also a vocal masterpiece with creativity, doing amazing Live arrangements that Diana could Never Reach.

@musicredshoes all the above mentioned were loud brash gospel singers. diana was not, none of them could duplicate the beauty of diana's voice. diana had her own style she was not going to be made into another loud black gospel singer singing pop/soul music. unlike the others you mentioned she is an original.
