This is my favorite version of this tale. All of the actors performed admirably, especially Robert Cavanah and Matthew McFadyen; through this film's initial airing on PBS, I discovered their talents. The musical score is one of the most beautifully haunting ones I've ever heard. The photography, settings, and costumes were all excellent. I have this on VHS tape but would like to get it on DVD as well. Thank you for posting this enchanting scene.

@BEV1997 I would suggest reading wuthering heights, it's a truly fabulous novel and one of my favorites. Charlotte's novel Jane Eyre gets all the attention, but I prefer Wuthering Heights.

This version looks very good! I enjoyed the 1939, 1970, and 2009 versions very much, and I'm sure I'll enjoy this one! I am in agreement about the 1992 film - the actors are good, but the film is bad! And it was a terrible idea to have Juliette Binoche play both Cathy and her daughter - was there a budget problem? Gah!

You can't ask for much more having Matthew play Hareton. Thanks for uploading!

@Muirmaiden: they use the some actress to play both parts, to make the end part more realistic when the visitor claimed the spirit looked just like the daughter stil alive cuz they did look exactly alike....way more realistic in my opinion.

Thanks for uploading this! I just tried watching the WH movie with Ralph Fiennes and what's-her-name, but it was so bad (I've got a lot of other adjectives in mind, but I think 'bad' covers it) that I just quit. And after that experience I really needed to watch a few scenes from my favorite WH adaption. So thanks! I think you (and Matthew) just saved my life =)

Yes, you´re right. It is film about love between Heatcliff and Catherine, but the story is too dark. Hareton and Cathy make sunshine in it in the end.

Hareton Earnshaw is the son of Hindley and Frances Earnshaw and Catherine Linton is the daughter of Edgar and Cathy Linton. So that would make them first cousins. Because Hindley and Cathy are brother and sister..I had to look it up because it has been awhile since I watched this..Mainly for Matthew Macfadyen...
