On the live recording I have on a 70s compilation IINTRO'ing into the song with the music playing he tells a friend or acquaintance his he see's in the audience right before he starts singing "Whats up soul brother, I don't wanna call out your name, don't want nobody to know your in here." Then go's immediately into the lyrics. I always thought that was pretty cool. I still wonder who the person was to this day.
