@123hondacivic chords? If you mean strings, then you need your guitar to be in the correct tuning. To play any song correctly, it's best to be in the tuning that the band uses OR use a capo depending on what tuning your guitar is already in.

All you have to do is make each string on your guitar sound like each of mine when I pick them. Couldn't get easier than that.

@123hondacivic "Drop D" tuning is when you take your low E string and tune it to "D". Learn plain old music theory 101. The notes on a piano are the same on a guitar. Ab, A, A#, B, C, C#... etc.

Just think about it, when you play your guitar in standard tuning, hit the G string. That is a G note. Then, play the 1st fret on the same string. That is G#(sharp) and so on and so on.

Music theory 101, buddy.

@123hondacivic No, D sharp(the tuning in this video) is when you tune your entire guitar to that tuning. Which, is a half step down from standard tuning. E goes to D#, A goes to G#... etc. Drop D tuning is when your guitar is in standard, but you just take your low E string and make it a D.

I think so. If it's played in Eb, than tune down/up to it.

This goes for ANY song. It's NEVER going to sound right unless you're in the correct tuning.

the song has the same chords, it doesnt matter the tuning.... you dont need to tune the guitar to Eb....you can play it standard using the same chords but the position is different

Anyway, if you want to play it the way it was written, tune your guitar to the proper tuning.

sure...but there is no need to tune your guitar to that tuning... the only time you really need to tune a guitar to Eb tuning is if you have to use open strings or if you have to hit the low Eb chord... if you are in a band and you play standard tuning most of the time and you want to play this song, just change the positions because it sounds the same and

I think so. Mr Brightside has arpeggios and a lot of single string picking, while this song is mostly power chords.

I haven't actually sat down and played Mr Brightside, so I can't give true input, but from watching live performances, it looks a wee bit more difficult than WYWY.

But again, everything is easy with practice.

I put this vid up as a visual to help people who want to learn the song. Face it, some people just don't understand tabs(which in my opinion is IMPOSSIBLE). Tabs are so easy to read, I'm surprised anyone would use any other method to learn a song.
