I miss the animation of the Ice Beam freezing over, come to think of it, the other beams lost their charging after effects too, didn't they? While I'm at it, if you rapid fire Samus's powerbeam for about 10 seconds and stop it the tip of it starts to smoke.
I guess Capoland likes the Ice Beam in this walkthrough because he's been using it until he got the Plasma Beam which is also the best beam that can kill better.
@Chikawowwow101: I believe that the enemies take much more attacks to bring down, but I haven't played the game. You ought to ask capoland for more details.
has anyone figured out waht the beam symboles are? i always thought i was hand positions and thats how she changed the beam but i have never been completly sure
They are the hand symbols she uses to switch beams. If you examine her arm cannon with the X-Ray visor and switch beams, you see Samus change the shape of her hand to change beams.
never figured that out, maybe she just does the hand shape then goes back to pulling the trigger or maybe she twitches her hand in the beam position XD
in its her thumb that triggers, why does she trigger her ice beam slow?and the power beam rapidly?maybe the trigger for the power beam is light so u can press it easily, and the ice beam trigger is heavy, where u have to press hard.but we dont know if its the thumb....
Different beams have different rates of fire. If we took Metroid as a real thing, then maybe the Arm Cannon needs to warm up (cool down with other beams) to prevent failure. Or maybe we're just reading to much into this and Nintendo chose it to even out the extra damage it deals.
i agree were going way to into this, like nintendo made it like that so no overkill to pirates, but i dont think the ice beam would need to cool down cause its ice,i agree if ice beam was rapid fire like the power beam, the game would be too easy, including that its the 3rd weapon.
Well it's interesting because in the wii-make of MP2 the dark beam fires just as fast, if not a little bit slower than te power beam. Atleast from what I could tell
Check it out under the X-Ray Visor. She maintains the hand shape, but thrusts her hand forward for each shot. Curiously, there doesn't seem to be any way to tell how she performs charge shots. The thumb idea may be right then. It doesn't seem to change position. Perhaps there is a trigger her thumb presses.
It's for the missiles, her thumb is for the missiles. her index and middle fingers are for the power beam, all five fingers are for the wave beam and light beam and the nova beam, her index finger and the pinky are for the ice beam and dark beam and prime 3's plasma beam, and the first three fingers are used for the plasma beam and annhilator. she charges by pressing and holding the trigger. It doesn't really show that, but it's how it works.
i kinda guessed she had to do something w/ her fingers to change beams, but i wasnt sure if she were to press something, or just put down the fingers that weren't shown
HuntageX refers to the layer of ice which used to form around the top of the cannon when you held the charge beam for a while. That happened in the GC version of course.
I've noticed that the heat distorsion effect that appeared when you fire multiple times the normal beam seems having been removed too.
I've also notice that the electricity that surrounds the Wave beam when you charge is no longer there ether. Maybe they will fix this in time for the US release, that is, if their IS one. Actually, I'm pretty sure it will be released in the states, it would be dumb of them not to.
O_o Dude! How did you get that many missiles?! I only have 35 missiles right now!!!

Capoland, you should make a Hypermode walkthrough of all three games. It seems like no one has one, you would get a ton of views if you put one up.
MrUnicyclist10 2 years ago
Maybe, but if i did they would be more play-throughs than walk-throughs since i already have a walk-through for each game.
capoland 2 years ago
What is meant by hyper mode?
RogueFighter15 2 years ago
Hypermode is the hardest difficulty.
capoland 2 years ago
@capoland I thought Hypermode was when Samus's screen went all blue and you shot stronger beams? In MP3.
scruffylittledog 1 year ago
@scruffylittledog: Hypermode is also the name of the highest difficulty setting in these remade versions and so was in MP3.
E45LP3 4 months ago
@E45LP3 is there anything different in hypermode or is it just that the enemy's are stronger?

How does Samus fire?

Maybe her thumb is the fire button, it is always in the one place.

or.....maybe her thoughts control her whole suit, which means when she thinks, they fire
