I hate how car reviewers comment on ride quality for certain types of vehicles. If you don't want a rough sporty ride, DON'T BUY A MINI THEN!!! It's a small hatchback, so what do you expect, Lexus ride quality? If you want a mushy un-inspiring ride, buy a Camry then. Just my 2 cents.
