  • sooo wtf dog is it true bout her beein rapedand sum more shit.

  • She was raped kidnapped and baptized against her will then she died at 22 because of disease. Google pocahontas rape

  • this really helps me im doing a project on pocahontas

  • i wanna go back in time and try their corn :)

  • Dream Team, anyone?

  • before columbian history, ohhh conserve history!

  • Oh If only John Smith and Pocahontas looked like they did in the Disney movie :')

  • Chief Wahunsenacawh Opechancanough and Cleopatra (Pocahontas' sister) are my ancestors... It's so weird.

  • @tnick777 they're mine too, which means we're distant cousins xDD

  • thnx 2 disney...they made john smith way awesome!!! :)..... didnt imagine he wud look like this!!

  • FUCK DISNEY

  • thanks to all of the white men settelers peace, is still not here. natives r still treated like shit. were forces to live on rezervasions when all of America is still rightfully ours. when will people come to their senses n give us back our land n go back to where they came from.

  • @174basketball hell no! dont send them back here, we dont want em.

  • It is sad what the Europeans did to the Native Americans, the TRUE Americans, and nothing is ever going to correct/ remedy the wrongs that were done, as some (if not most) of the culture and traditions have now been lost through westernisation or 'civilisation'. It's a real pity. I wish to travel around America (North and South) one day to visit the Native American Tribes and experience their culture/ traditions; what's left of it anyways! Peace :)

  • yeah pocha real

  • They English came, but could barely keep alive, while all the proud native nations had food in abundance.

If Aliens descended onto our planet to steal our earth and make us slave by force, we would call them barbarians, heathens, murders, and savages. We would be outraged to be called savages simply because our technology is not that great.

Are not these some of the same sentiments of all the nations who were here in America before the Europeans came?

  • I think we should rethink the what the word "Civilized" means;

the English and Europeans consider themselves civilized because of the technology they posses, and not by the wisdom&philosophy they posses in their hearts. They do not examine how much harmony or disharmony there are with each other and the world.

Perhaps the English gave up civilization for technology which is not the same.

  • @Dharma2012 nice try but no, philosophy isnt your thing, stick to ur day job.

  • I wish I had that sound track!

  • Hehe. John Smith...so much for the golden-haired Adonis we see in the Disney move. ^^

  • how can a 14 year old girl "fall in love" with an ugly old man??? O.o

  • @elinheartstristin that how old melinche was.

  • i dont like that the europeans fought with cannons and guns while the natives fought with just bows and arrows and some weapons that they had to steal to get. not a fair fight at all.

  • *Sigh* As usual, Americans take the violent path - against quiet, peaceful people no less. So, tell me now; who are the REAL savages? The Native Americans who wanted nothing but tranquility, or the power-hungry Europeans who just wanted to take everything away and give nothing back?

  • @gOtHiCxAnGeLxox ive heard so many different stories about pocahontas and smith that i dont know which to believe. i heard she was 14 when she saved smith and later some europeans kidnapped her and held her hostage. i dont know why though. she was taken to europe and made into a "celebrity". she lived only to be 20 years old. is any of this true and what is not?

  • @Spyder8561 thanks for the clarifications. the movies tell such lies!!

  • @elinheartstristin Pocahontas didn't marry John Smith. She married the English settler John Rolfe. He took her to England, and on her return trip back to America, she became gravely ill. The ship brought her back to England where she died and was buried.

  • @katydidscorner ...I know, It's was too late to correct my mistake so I just letf it.

  • @gOtHiCxAnGeLxoxnevermind ignore my comment.

  • @gOtHiCxAnGeLxox I know your comment is over a year old, but I hope you learned about the so called "peace loving tree hugging" Native Americans. They would routinely raid each other and practice slavery, rape and slaughter.

  • @sourcemaster - Yep! But at least that was for their own survival; their own gain. It was a natural part of their lives, as well as ours, in the past. The only difference between them and us is that we took it to other continents while they didn't.

  • @gOtHiCxAnGeLxox Because Europeans had the means to. That does not give the Native Americans any "moral upper hand" over the Europeans. And it WAS for the European's survival. I can't believe you talk like that when you can only imagine how hard it must have been to live on the frontier in fear of these tribes. Just makes you sound like a sheltered pussy.

  • @sourcemaster funny... fear the ones without the guns, ur so full of shit... john smith and evey1 else like u can eat a dick

  • @sourcemaster wow just like whites do to every other race on this planet, so wuts ur fuckin point

  • This documentary must be fairly dated. It gets a few things wrong, just about everything it says involving smith is conjecture.

hostilities were NOT one sided between these two groups. In actuality the initial scouting party that landed In Virginia was attacked and this forced the men to return to the ship.

The matchlocks were left on the ship for the first month of settlement, an attack then on the fort of Jamestowne (a tent fort) was only turned back by cannon fire from the susan constant.

  • john smith was freaking ugly......hahrr

  • i am a direct descendant of powhatan... his tribe broke up into several groups, mainly the pamunky, upper mattaponi, and mattaponi...i belong to the mattaponi tribe... Powhatan's burial mound is currently located on the pamunky indian reservation.

  • My tribe is located here in virginia, near the chesepeake bay

  • Me thinks Disney took a bit of artistic license in reworking John Smith's face...

  • i dont remember this in 500 nations... great post tho

  • im 1//4 powhatan 1/4 cherokee 1/4 english 1/4 german 100 percent american confederate lol known now as a hillbilly

  • wow, john smith was a real asshole, and so were all the white settlers. i mean how could they treat the native americans like that! it's.. it's Horible! and their is probably more the the story, but the white english men lied through their teeth so much that i guess we will never know.

  • Im a nobody but I think that we are all related and have more of an interest in pointing out the differences instead of the similarities. Like we love our children and would not wish people harm etc????I like the vid. You did a good job thanks.

  • The native americans...with there so called premitive ways lived and survived on that land perfectly, but the europeans had to salvage there land....but yet they call themselves superior......also, it takes a group of people with guns and cannons and iron swords, 4 years to fight people with bow and arrows

  • @jay4457 ...I agree with you 100%. I'm Powhatan

  • @jay4457 bro im happy you didn't talk shit about the natives ... like SUM OTHERS cherokee tribe<3

  • but i dont put no faith in pbs its like part of communistt new network that runs our country

also where did this come from queen anne or hofw about sarah jennings or how about duke of marlborough she accused john smith of being a liar there in that court and why would she have a child by john rolfe if she didnt love him which my originates from said family and the other names i mentioned in this diatribe as well ! which my family financed the king james bible for their cousin as well!

  • another thing since my ancestress was married to john rolfe and that the land that jamestown was given to them by her uncle which he was the chief of the pomonkey tribe but his real name was squantoe when decades before he was taken as a slave and he escaped back to the americas to find his village all dead from disease then you know the rest of the story ! i hope after her fathers death the chief went on the war path which ended up with the death of his nephewinlaw

but not the son of matocha !

  • i have heard rantings and ravings about matoka or matocha but this is so lame one john smith was not related or married to her since her husband was john rolfe the christianity i know of is this that the catholic church and its pope were not christian but pagan since i am related to the

one you pocahauntaus = naughty child in algonguin which she was tide water alqonquin

her fathers name was not powhatan which means village in that language you idiots

    have lost ur mind!

  • Were you aware that John Smith put a curse on the water, land and Indians? Just one example of a "Christian" using black magic... while projecting that all the 'evil' was being done by non- Christians! Sadly... this sentiment still lives today... with the "Christian" churches not taking responsibility for what they've done relative to the Indian Boarding Schools... both in Canada and in the U.S.. The Catholic church has been responsible for some real hideous acts against children... but the

  • evangelical "Christian" churches (Mormon, LDS, Adventist, etc.) need to take a good long look at their history and the actions of their founders... and take responsibility for what they've done to Native Americans... and to children... much of what continues to this day as evidenced by the 400+ children at the Yearning For Zion compound! The impact that they've had on the Native community, on children, on women, on race relations... and on ALL of us is astounding! And their clearly not satisfied

  • yet... as evidenced by their baptism by proxy of many non-Christians and those that hold other religious and spiritual beliefs than they do. The manipulation of the genealogical records by the LDS church is SO over the top... that there are hardly words to describe how offensive that is! The whole BUSINESS of "Christian" witnessing... and coerced AND FORCED conversion is spiritual RAPE... and the epitome of "Christian" arrogance! No matter how 'well-intentioned' they might BELIEVE they are...

  • they have caused GREAT DAMAGE TO ALL OF US... and ARE accountable... and WILL face the consequences! John Smith, Ellen White and their followers and supporters should have familiarized themselves with the 3-fold law before they ever engaged in ANY magic... black or otherwise!

  • Yeah its history and you cannot blame people that are here now for what their ancestors have done in the past .We didnt do it, they did it . I love Indians and Mexicans and all races . I am white and have Indian and Mexican and Black in my family .Dont point your finger at me I am here now , not in the past ,but the present Let go of the hate and anger that will get u knowhere good in life

  • I wrote about responsibility and accountability. You are the one who mentioned hate and anger. Are you the one who is feeling hatred and anger? How do you show your love for all the races? You identify yourself as white... and then state that you have Indian and Mexican and Black in your family. Does that not mean that you too are White, Indian, Mexican and Black? You also mentioned history and indicated that this was all done in the past. Are you suggesting that this is not happening today?

  • I dont feel hate and anger you turned around what I said . but some people do not all. what Im saying is you cant mar a whole race for the actions of the percentage of the people who are doing wrong against others.Yes i am white I am just one of the colors in the rainbow of races that I love . I believe we are all should be treated the same . yes bad things might be going on but not by me . My children are indian and mexican and white. So dont try to make me look bad for the actions of others
