FYI, INTERCEPTING is a standard procedure when military aircrafts are scrambled to intercept suspicious airplanes. It just means catching up the plane in air. After that you can get orders for shooting it down, but I didn't mean that. I just ment intercepting which didn't happen. I'm sure U.S can do better but I think there must have been friends of al-qaida in the U.S forces who prevented it.
actually this is how it went, the hijackers turned off the aircrafts transponders so they were almost impossible to locate due to immense air traffic. the US air force was on standby and ready to intercept however the presidential order to shoot down wasn't issued until after the towers and the pentagon were hit. the 4th plane was believed to be aimed at the white house and thats when the order to shoot down was given. but that plane crashed in a field in PA

I agree with both of you...that Swede is just showin a little national pride...but our Air Force dominates. Why do you think Iraq didn't send up any fighters during Iraqi Freedom? Because they had faced American air power once before...once bitten twice shy. I do like the F/A 18 in this Air Force tribute though...lol

Lol sorry no the gripen is not faster, no fighter in the world is faster then the f-22 (right now) and i dont think any fighter can hit an enemy as far away as the f-22 (I may be wrong bout that tho.) but I would rather fly a gripen :)

FYI, INTERCEPTING is a standard procedure when military aircrafts are scrambled to intercept suspicious airplanes. It just means catching up the plane in air. After that you can get orders for shooting it down, but I didn't mean that. I just ment intercepting which didn't happen. I'm sure U.S can do better but I think there must have been friends of al-qaida in the U.S forces who prevented it.

actually this is how it went, the hijackers turned off the aircrafts transponders so they were almost impossible to locate due to immense air traffic. the US air force was on standby and ready to intercept however the presidential order to shoot down wasn't issued until after the towers and the pentagon were hit. the 4th plane was believed to be aimed at the white house and thats when the order to shoot down was given. but that plane crashed in a field in PA

then go and read about how they are used for two totally different things the F-22 is used to get deep into enemy territory hit and get out it can dogfight but thats not what it was made to do. the eurofighter is a JSF now id like to see how it will stand up to the f-35 when that comes out...eurofighter will most likely get owned

Hahaha Iran couldnt even reach baghdad in the iraq vs iran war and lost over 700,000 and they think they could beat us.We would deystroy them before their ape president gets a chance to even declear war.Iran militery is shit their militery is old russian weapons and even older us made weapons the only new thing they have is anti missle sytem and a very few new air craft that we could blow to the sky.

WMD or no WMD Saddam was a real threat to the region if not the world, given the choice, I'd much rather have the current situation over having done nothing and not knowing what that maniac SH was doing, unlike France and the UK before WWII that chose to sit on their hands. I don't agree with the Iraq statment as I think we should've been focused more on China's military buildup and threat towards Taiwan. However I am as an American proud of our military. We need to pay close attention to the CCP in China these days.
