the volume quick send dont work on my ipod touch it just freezes my ipod and puts it in safe mode then i have to delete it and reinstall it.is there a way to fix that?

I am using 3.1.2 with this with quickreply enabled and it is not working for me...it still opens up my sms app on the phone! The vol button open the quick send but it never shows once I click past the name to start texting...anyone know how to fix or have this problem!??!
