  • Godin rules!

  • Haha it sounds like evergrey and symphony x

  • Symphony X much?

  • does it work well with an acoustic-electric guitar????

  • Don't know why people haven't demonstrated the amazing B3 Organ sounds you can get with the GR series......Couple years back I heard a good band playing outdoors at a distance and swore there was someone with a Hammond B3.....when we got right up to the band we were all scratching our heads trying to figure where the great keyboardist was! Then we saw the guitar player had the GR setup. Couldn't believe how amazing it sounded. To me - that particular organ sound is the most useable in a band.

  • That guy is ridiculous at guitar.

  • hmm i think its a cool product, i wouldnt mind sitting at home jamming with this thing, seeing what sounds i could get, but for live/recording? cant beat a good tube amp, good guitar and some skill

  • wow i want this backingtrack is it available ?? and also 0.28-0.35 is that an actual song or just impro ?? :)

  • Thats Rob Marcello

  • SWEET

  • Sounds like SX

  • WHAT SONG IS THIS!.?

  • def not a song, just a demo clip

  • mmm... id thought it must needs the esaphonic pickup to work

  • He is playing a Godin Freeway SA. Many Godin (pronounced "go-Dan") guitars, like this one, come with a built in 13 pin connector so you can plug directly into the Roland GR series synths. I have a Godan Multiac Nylon SA with that feature. ...very cool!!

  • не впечатлил

  • is there a name for this song

srry if i should know. i recognize it but forgot the name

  • Rob Marcello is a great player, melodic and original.

  • I agree, he's better than most who do videos for Boss or Roland... the guy just has amazing technique and he's solid... nice to watch and hear

    Rob

  • Always reminds me of F-ZERO when people play it like this.

  • sounds like a bit of dream theater at the beginning.

  • Its Rob Marcello, he's kind of like a modern Neoclassical shred based player, he does it pretty well though.

  • Don't forget he's in Danger Danger too! Awesome band!!! Awesome guitarist!! =DDD

  • wow 0:30 too. tone sounds like JP.

  • hot guy

  • i liked the beggining, sounded so progressive.....Im looking forward to buy one of these, but they´re more expensive than a regular multifx......

  • Whoa at first glance I thought he was Dave Mustaine

  • whats the song called hes playing?

  • cooolio now my band doesnt have to get a keyboard player xD

  • dude i was thinking the same goddamn thing hahaha

  • if i conect this with my pedals, dont suck the tone the gr-20?

  • its really excellent dude...

  • I want that gear, and I also want that Crue shirt:P

  • now you only need a crap guitar with good frets...

  • lol ahahah

  • please tell me this can work on a bass or they have one for a bass guitar?

  • it should work with a bass guitar but you need the GK-3B pickup instead of the GK-3

  • Oh ok cool! And melodikdeath it is because I am into Techno/industrial music and I like to experiement on sounds not just what every other person on the hill does!

  • good call, base guitars sound kick ass in techno, a lot better than guitars. the slow vibrations almost sound like fast delay or something

  • yes they do. you can buy the updated gr-20 which has a bunch of bass effects and buy a gk-3b which is a bass pickup which can work on 4, 5, or 6 string basses. exactly the same as the guitar pack

  • that guys playing some sweet guitar parts

  • i went on a cruise one time and there was a guitarist doing a one man show with this he had backing tracks and he'd use the synth to play piano on the guitar etc

  • very easy......... more like expensive

  • That Synth only costs the same as any mid-priced Processor.

In the UK, Get one for £250 including the pickup. :)

  • this is more what I'd like to use a guitar Synth for. Melodic Death Metal

  • mmmm melodic death metal...you heard Ihsahn??o ropeth??mmm good things

  • I'm sure people already asked this, but I'm completely new to this whole synthesizer thing. Which is better the gr-20 or me-20?

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the song Robert was playing?

    Thank you!

  • you need the GK3 or you can just use the Gr20??

  • you have to have the gk3 some places you can get both in one package

  • I bet the keyboard part was already in there, and he was just playing along with it pretending like it was him.

  • i can't lie it's possible but since it's robert on marcello im sure it possibl that it's him too, the sond's he's using arent exactly stock sounds i've heard on other roland keyboards but it might just be theis one, the harpsichord is from the JV/XP expansion card deffinitely and the synth i've never heard on a roland so i don't know...

  • @Aldaraia666 Dude, actually you can't even see the GK3 pick up so you might be right.

  • @ShimmySystem

That guitar has the Ghost system built in. Note the extra little switches in the control area. On a Synth Access guitar you don't need the GK 3 pickup, it's all built in. Check out the line of Godin guitars lots of them have a 13 pin 3 voice setup right out of the box. And lots of players take a guitar that they like already and install the system into it.

    Big Ron

  • @BIgRon2176 Now there's the GR-55 which is apparently 50 times better.

  • @ShimmySystem

I have a GR-20 Synth but from what I have read the GR-55 has a lot more features. It has amp modeling and the ability to play pre-recorded backing tracks. I also think it has about 900 voice patches against the GR-20's 400 or so.

There are some folks that are having tracking issues with the GR-55 but I bet that has to do with the setup of their individual equipment rather than the GR-55 machine itself.

    Big Ron

  • @Aldaraia666 This is ridiculous. It's the sound from the GR-20.

  • deep cheesy american voice and amzing guitar,

well, you wouldnt get an advert for a strat worth £125, a cable and a poxy Marshall MG30DFX advertised would you?

  • why the fuck are all the adverts for the gr 20 so shit and taccy!

  • how so?

  • the cheesy american voice and the production seems cheap its like summat ud see on a shopping channel

  • With a product like that, i think they can afford to spare some expence on the advertising side.

  • @mrcat1990 i agree its all this 80s hair rock bullshit. nobody wants to do this anymore. these synth guys are really starting to get out of touch with what is good. you see it in music stores too. all the old synth guys play really shitty stuff to try and sell their stuff... ugh.

  • guitar is a Godin Freeway Classic SA (Synth Access)... Godin are the best SA makers in my opinion. Check out there massicerange.... Especially the fretless 6 strings SA!!! Although many do say that Nylon strung is better tracking..

  • thats one fucking sexy guitar.

  • i want it now............lol

  • do you have to hook it up to twop seperate amps to get the guitar and the synth sounds?

  • This can be very usable in C.O.B songs if the keyboard player can't keep up with the guitar on the same melody

  • Robert Rules!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've got the GR33 ,...but it's in the repair shop for about 5 weeks,.....Shit!!

  • how much is this?

  • around 500.

  • can synth guitars make heavy metal distortion???

  • my mate let me try out his, says he can give me it at a discount XD

  • About 1 player in 1 million can play a guitar synth that fast, so it's a bit misleading ... but Roland makes the best, overall, and they more or less invented the modern, practical guitar synth. I won't have a GR20. Too limited. I like the GR33 and GR30, though. Roland, build us a new guitar synth, one with controls like the VG88!

  • thats rob marcello on the guitar111111111!!!!

  • Does someone now witch is the best?

    the GR20 or the GR09?

  • I have GR20, but piano gets tricky it won't play in real time fast enough, I would give 7 out of 10 stars to Roland GR20

  • I think its the great robret marcello from irone horse on the guitar....

  • yep it is :)

  • haha that great power of godin guitars :P

  • Excelent I have a Roland GR-09 its great !!
