Jamal will bring instant credibility to our WR group. He is electric and ready...Go Big Red. From what I understand he is super high character...Jamal "the jet" Turner?
Neither Turner or Starling look particularly "explosve" (as runners) on film when you compare them to say a Braxton Miller or someone like that however, that doesn't necessarily mean much. Turner is clearly "elusive" sort of like a faster Steve Young and with Starling while it may not appear that he is running all that fast, the kid is 6'5 so he is eating up huge chunks of yardage.
@speedtoburn I have seen Starling play in person more than once and he is the fastest player on the field everytime. He runs a 4.3 and is 6'5, no matter what level you are at that is not easy to tackle. You would understand if you got the chance to watch him in person but its hard to tell from the 2 or 3 clips on Youtube. I hope he plays in college next year cause he is fun as hell to watch.
i dont give a damn what nobody say, this dude gone be a beast no matter what position he starts. i wanna see him get his shot at qb. but i know he can be a damn good Slot wide receiver. he has that speed that that you really have to admire.
Looks great at running the zone read. He's very fast and quick. Got a good quick release when he throws the ball. But I see him eventually becoming a DB or a WR if he got good hands. Not sure if he has the arm strength to make all the deep passes.
In college, a lot of his longer runs and cutbacks will be stopped. He could also be a wildcat kinda guy - WR/QB/RB. If he wants to go pro, I would say he best chance is at CB.
@belacoz Very well put, Nebraska is doing the same thing with Turner that they did with Martinez. He will be given the chance to play Quarterback, but if things don't work out. They will likely move him to defense. I think it will be the latter in this case. Go Big Red
