Im just great full to see it re released for ps3 since it was my absolutely favorite game of all time. I burned up my first ps2 then ended up getting a slim ps2 curtious of my little girls chubby friend the port disk holder got broke and I couldn't get it fixed so we upgraded to to shit box caught red ring not once but twice and finally went back to ps got a 3 and well lets just say so far sony has well proved themselves to me. I love their games and this was one of the best.

I guarantee 5 out of 5 people would choose the HD version over the Gamecube/Wii/PS2 versions in a side by side test. The only reason why people are disappointed is because they are used to visually stunning modern games like Gears of War and Uncharted.

Some people just need to do more research before they purchase items. I knew full well that this wasn't going to be a remake. I expected the same game, but at a higher native resolution to make the dated visuals look the best they can on HDTVs.

I can assure you that the HD remake does look better on HD displays than the Wii, or Gamecube version. It's not upscaled HD, it's rendered at a actual higher native resolution, because if it were simply upscaled it wouldn't look any sharper than the Wii, or Gamecube version as HD televisions always upscale lower resolution sources to their native res. Textures look the same, because it's the same game just at a higher resolution. It was never intended to be a remake.

There is nothing special with this "quality" upgrade! The modern consoles are way more powerful than the last generation, therefore it's obvious that a comon looking game like this can run easily in full HD! A true upgrade would be rebuilding the game with the Resident Evil 5 engine, but that would make the file size much bigger and they would have to distribute it in disc, which would turn the game more expensive.

I started to play it today, it is an awesome videogame, as great as the last one; but I was a bit shock and pissed off at first, because the story take place in a Spanish village (Spain) and Spaniards do not speak like that. The zombies speak with an accent that is similar to Mexican accent but it isn't even that.

If you want to know how annoying this is, just imagine a videogame where the story take place in an English village and the villagers there have New Zealand/kiwi accent.

The game is definitely running in a higher resolution. This isn't a total overhaul like most of us were hoping for, but it's definitely running at a higher resolution, it's not just being upscaled. It's actually being rendered in a higher resolution. This looks ten times better than the shitty Wii version. Some people.....

How is it the worst? If you are talking about graphic-wise, graphics don't make a game. It's gameplay that matters and that's what RE4 slammed down on. Gameplay was very innovative in RE4. I understand if you wanted to see improved textures and etc but that doesn't make it a bad port. As long as people can finally enjoy RE4 on their 360's and PS3's w/ trophies and achievements, I think it's a good port.

@randomblok True, but I'm referring to Capcom and their tendancy to cut corners. Simply jacking up the resolution doesn't make it "HD". improved textures or not, a choppy frame rate is unforgivable. In retrospect, look at what they've done with Ico/SoTC and GoW Collection. Hell, even MGS HD collection features more enhancements than just a higher resolution and jacked up textures.

@Top180Zero No, it IS HD. HD means high definition, which refers to the resolution output. So yes, if it's being produced in 1080p/720p, than it doesn't matter how the game itself looks, as long as your Xbox 360/Playstation 3 is outputting a 1920x1080 / 1280x720 image to your television, it's high definition.
