  • 52 states? There's 50 states including the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico which are America's 3 territories. That's a shame how some Americans don't even know that.

  • i got excited about hearing you say Louisiana since that is where i am from, and then that was the one you forgot. haha It sounded great though! :)

  • good job

    you make it look easy

  • haha babe theres only 50 :) i loved it!

  • Massachusetts! hahahaha ='D i love her.

  • Heh, there's actually a song with all of the states in alphabetical order that I learned in elementary school called "Fifty Nifty United States". I'd send you a link but you've probably got them all nailed down by now. xD

  • U havent mention the LOUISIANA state which the place that i really love

  • You forgot Louisiana.

  • Your American accent is cute. You are really good at it, I cant even tell that your British.

  • Mass a chew setts, O is too long at the end of Idaho...English bring their lips together a little closer in O ending words. Also DC...the ee is a little long (i.e British norm)...also the "see" in New Jersey (same as previous). Othrwise...pretty good.

  • washington d.c isnt a state -__-

  • DC isn't a state, silly :P

    it's the district of columbia

  • Washington D.C. is not a state. D.C. actually stands for 'District of Columbia' It was created to be an independent district because it is the seat of political power in the us. Otherwise good job and you American accent is eerily spot on.

  • lol we say wihh scon sin. well at least here in wisconsin thats how we say it. but this was entertaining, good job! (:

  • you forgot Louisiana!

  • Haha. Really good, i've been looing for this everywhere. Love your accent btw, my english accent soounds exactly like yours :)

  • Excellent! Very well said,

    You pronounced it perfectly!

And with a very friendly and smiling tone!

    Stay Connected,

    Dawn Mendonca

  • impressive

  • I have to say you did an excellent job with the 50 states over here, having lived in a good number of them, you did as well as anyone here.

[although most US citizens fail to know the number of states, and don't the difference between cities and states.

  • Well done lass,

    Mass is pronounced ;

    Mass- Eh- Chu-sits

    and Texas is pronounced;

    Tex-iz

South Carolina is pronounced; Sowth Karah-line-ah

    otherwise dear , spot on!

    Exemplary!

  • I would say Texas is more like tek-sus or if you say it quickly, tek-sis

  • Washington D.C. is the countries capital

  • 1:52 - 1:57

    Citizen King "Better Days"

  • AdamRiewer, it's actually the end of Incubus song, Drive

  • massatusits haha

its actually pronounced "mass uh chew sits"

  • sorry but washington D.C. isn't a state it's a city, not be exact our capital. :D

  • I have something you can do ....sing Sweet Home Alabama ....at least try it...its an idea .... but sing it with your accent....I think it would be cool....

  • The 52 states of america?

    lol.

  • I'm sorry, but if you thought there were 50 then count again. I think you'd find that there are more than 50 - just Americans haven't quite caught up with that little titbit :-p.

    Dan

  • what are the other two states?

    puerto rico isn't a state, it's a territory

  • Dan, we have 50, plus the Capital city; D.C.

the common wealth of Puerto Rico doesn't count, it isn't a state......... Alaska and Hawaii were the final 2

  • You have a lot of overseas territories, including Naha (which by the way - is a disgrace and I can't understand why it hasn't been brought more to public attention).

  • thanks Dan, I never heard of Naha before, I will look it up.

  • you're cute!

  • You are beautiful!!! : P

  • You are beauty HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well done! Awesome!

  • MASSACHUSTTS ROCKSS

  • lol "Massatoossiss

  • Awesome video :)

  • lol i think ur cool lol

  • Arkansas and NJ and MA were off but other than that it was good. If said in standard american that is... Overall good!

  • I like your accent. You mentioned Canadian accents. To me its almost like a cross between North American and Scottish. words like OUT are pronounced as OOT....or ABOUT..ABOOT. I also heard someone talking about RAIDING his BAKE (riding bike)

  • Lol Im from FLorida. I dont get how alot of birts cant say it well lol.

  • washington d.c. isnt a state its an area between two states though

  • LOL. this gives me a whole new perspective on how bad Americans must sound when trying to do international accents. Nice try though.

  • Almost forget my state lol dont blame u there south dakota ant that great and u said it funny as well but oh well

  • its kinda funny how you said Massachusetts oh well other then that it was pretty good

  • lol ur like massatooses!

  • I would LOVE to see a Canadian Provinces/Territories vid.

  • i live in florida, i noticed that brits and germans always mess up with florida!

funny because you had to rethink about it too =)

  • 50 states, not 51 or 52. surprisingly, many americans don't even know how many states there are!

I like how you said arkansas!

  • you should name the provinces and territories of canada :D

  • Send me a message and I'll do a video for you. :)

    Sounds good to me! x

  • ohhh nice not so nice on massachesuts! LOL

what song is that in the end?

  • Song: Cajun Dance Party- The Race.

Message me if you'd like their mp3 and I'll mail you it. =)

  • @Sezzera you were actually right with Washington, D.C. It is not a state, it's a city/separate district. D.C. stands for "District of Columbia." I just wanted to say that, you probably know though ;)

  • you did great! you said massachusetts a bit weird...but I have heard Americans say it worse....and I watched another one of your videos where you wonder what your American accent sounds like...and after watching this one...you DEFINATELY sound east coast...just the way you sound...especially when you said Arkansas...Im in New York..and hear people that sound like that all the time...You could have fooled me if I didnt know

  • There is more to an American accent than over doing the 'R's. When you say Hawaii it just sounds British.

  • washington d.c is not a state...and there is 50 states. D.C is a district.

  • Sez, let's trade--you live here in US, and I will go to UK in a heartbeat!! ;-) P.S. I love the sound of the elements..lol

  • Deal! :)

  • I'm starting to understand that you are getting the point that America is the best country to live in...right:)

  • tigerskob, I have had really happy vacations out in America. It's a place I love! :)

Although, I don't favour George Bush, that's all that goes for what I don't appreciate that belongs to America.

  • Next you have to do all of the capitals of all the states!...and what do you love so much about America, because I've found it very boring and I have been around a lot of the states...and I'm ready to move to another country, hopefully within the next year or two, maybe alaska or new zealand..

  • I'm pretty bored of England, to be honest.

I need to feel refreshed by moving to another country. I think because I enjoy travelling, it helps to keep my mind active and I meet new people, cities and languages, etc. :)

  • yes I can understand it could get boring there because it's so small, nevertheless it is a nice country and my dad liked it for the year and a half he was there but him and I both agree that we would never want to live there for a long amount of time, it's just too weird and small...and the food is terrible, you can't tell me you like the food do you??:(

  • Hey YOURE AWESOME! thank you for making this video your great at american accent!!!

  • that was good :)

just move to america already, you care more about us than we do :P

  • Yeah, you were right on the money with almost all of those. You called Massachusetts "Massatoosetts" for some reason, and you pronounced Missouri like "misery" (it's miz-OR-ee, with the eccent on the second syllable), but everything else sounded fine (even Arkansas, which is a tough one if you're unfamiliar with it). Keep up the good work!

  • Very Good.

    HUGGS

  • Not bad. We can trade places, I'll go to the UK and you can come here. You have much interest in America just like I do in the British Isles. Maybe I'll post a video pronouncing all the provinces of Britain. I know there are a lot.

  • Yes please!

Infact, we could trade families and that means I could reside in the U.S! ;)

Sounds like a lovely plan to me.. I could see Ben Kweller and Albert Hammond Jr on my travels.. Ohh, that would be delightful! :D

You should do a video, I would LOVE that to happen!

  • Yeah, that'll be fun. It would be just me actually. I have no family near by. I live alone here in Virginia.

  • Technically Washington D.C. isn't a state (there are only 50 states), but other than that it sounds correct to me!
