When Snake was with Meryl, even towards the end of the game, you could tell that she wanted to be with him, but he knew what he had to do (kill himself) when his mission was over because the fox dye would make him a nuclear weapon. And by the time he figured out that he didn't have to kill himself, Meryl had married Johnny. And once again, he was gonna die in a year, so there were many reasons why they couldn't be together in the end.

I liked it, the ending was a bit bitter. And given the fact that Snake didn't have the gun in his mouth because of Meryl, it probably shouldn't have been there. You should have kept Snakes real face in those MGS4 parts. Keep it accurate you know?

But I've always enjoyed their complicated relationship. It was so sad in Outer Haven when Meryl told Snake "Go. Now its my turn to protect you.." I just knew that was going to be the last time they see each other. So emotional.. *sigh* ^_^
