That's what people appreciate about Yanni is some of the risks he takes with his music. Although I love classical music, let's see how fast a classical concert would sell out compared to Yanni concert. That would speak volumes about how people have an affinity for Yanni's music.

Let me to explain. I was listen Samvel's preformance in various plays all night to see what is missing. He play extremly good, but with some brutality. Too much strengh. What separate talented from others is that they feel better what and how should things need to be done. You may train 20 years, you may become very good but never Master. Because you are not talented. He lack enough talent. Oh, he worked hard, but... I love this tecno beat, music is good, but player lack finesse.

I prefer his style over the watered down 'talent' of some violinists. And he is a Master. Do not let your preference define Master. We celebrate Mother's Day here in the USA. I wish my mother were here and I would have her listen to Samvel playing 'Mother.' It would bring her to tears. He is simply amazing.

I listened many violinists and don't have that feelig like when I listen Samvel. Try to find Kyung Wha Chung, Itzhak Perlman, Gil Shaham, Alex Depue... Do homework. I did my homework, listened many Samvel's performances. I like violin, and listen often. Samvel is surprise to me, very good but nothing inside.

Samvel has been playing violin since the age of 9. I'd say his movements are more instinctual than robotic. I do some things people consider impossible with the guitar but it's just conditioning.

I first learned the Fur Elise when I was a teenager and I can play it with my eyes closed now on all of my guitars which measure between 24.75-25".  I can't play it blind on 25.5" guitar, though (such as a Stratocaster). It's all about practice and familiarity with both the piece and your instrument.

How can some of you compare Ben Chan and Samvel?

Just idiots say that Chan is a bitch and his playing is shit, also just idiots say that chan plays better than Samvel.

Ben did a very very good work in 24 hours, this piece is not easy, I have been playing violin for almost 15 years so I know what I am talking about.

Of course Samvels interpretation is much better, but I think Samvel practiced this piece more than 1 day. So comparing Chan and Samvel is ridiculous.
