@ssj5devilhunter666 yes he does. 1 boy and 1 girl. The boy's name is Mick, as his godfather is Mick Doohan. The girl I dunno really. The boy is doing karting in germany, but often under his mother's name as they think it would be too much pressure with Schumacher as the last name
F1 is going in the wrong direction..in an effort to save money which doesnt work. F1 teams will find a way to spend money to be the fastest. Its the way it is because its the pinacle of motorsport. So why not just let them build freely? The engines are getting smaller, the cars uglier and it just sucks for us who remember seeing beautiful machines!
@sirsavesalot29 Vettel still manages to set some records in his Red Bull despite all the downgrades. They are almost on par with how they were 6 years ago with less power because of slicks and all the aero advances they've made. No matter what they do to slow them down they will always be the fastest cars in the world, don't worry about that (especially as long as Adrian Newey is around!)
@WillGregScott They dont qualify with race fuel onboard now though. Btw , F1 may be the fastest, but here are some lap times from Spa. F1 2011: 1:48.298 GP2 2009: 1:54.970 LMP1 2010: 1:57.884 and Monza. F1 2010: 1:21.962 GP2 2009: 1:30.007 LMP1 2008: 1:31.470 At Spa, LMP1 cars are closer to GP2 cars than GP2 cars (and HRT) are to the leading F1 teams. Indeed the LMP1 pole from Spa 2010 is only a tenth slower than the final slot on GP2 2009. F1 is THAT far ahead.
@sirsavesalot29 Yes a great point... They certainly don't build em like they used to... But removing all restrictions would most certainly result in the sport being too dangerous. We would have top speeds of over 300mp/h and regular fatalities. The impacts would be too massive, and the current F1 crash technology would not be able to provide sufficient safety to the drivers
@sirsavesalot29 Building freely is the wrong way to go, but I agree that "cost-cutting" can never work because the teams will still have tons of money to spend, and they will find places to spend it. The only way to make cost-cutting successful is to eventually reduce the team budgets by A LOT, but that will never happen because that would mean firing people, which no team (thankfully) wants to do.
@sirsavesalot29 Because competitiveness shouldn't be dictated by who has the most money to spend. There needs to be a fair and equal playing field for everyone which just doesn't exist without a budget cap. F1 cannot survive with just 3 or 4 teams so it needs to keep the small budget teams happy as well.
@june372 is correct, they are converting the cars to hybrids and lowering the engines.. they claim they will be "JUST AS FAST".. as if the current cars are "fast".. look at this video.. Monza is crying after Schumacher just took it to school. F1 is all about strategy now.. it is not fun like the old days
What was wrong with the V10? Cost doesn't mean shit, if you cant afford it, tough. V10 engines are the way to go, the V8's are just pathetic. BRING BACK THE V10!!!!!!!!!!!
the problem is not the v8 itself but that it just has 2,4 litres, the v10 had 3 litres und the turbocharged v4 will have just 1,4 litres and will sound like a loud scooter
Well, track changes entail moving grandstands, adding pavement, moving buildings, possibly purchasing more land and maintaining that land if necessary. All while having no advances in technology. And I feel they may just be trying to avoid a group b rally situation.
Why doesn't the FIA care about spectators? Why ydo they want 4 cylinders in f1 in 2013? Why do they want F1 to be ecological? Racing will never be ecological!
@soureysen Well , due to that sound point you mentioned, it's not necessarelly that way... Brabham's 4 cyl. turbo cars made a great sound.. i can't remeber the f1 car that made a great sound with that engines.. but i'll tell you later, if you want
0:56 is that a complete useless up-shift? haha because, whenever I am driving in a game, I do the same, just to hear the sound of shifting. V10, stupid bernie, go and play with your friends on sesame street
Um.. Alonso's 2010 pole was actually a 1.21.962. Not even a second off pace...with top speeds maybe 10mph slower...with 200 less horsepower...and less downforce...and no traction control...and engine allotments...and no stops for fuel.
Yes, they may have more mechanical grip now. But my point is that they are still doing great, and are not getting slower and slower. You simply miss your V10.
V-10s would be nice to have back in F1, but it's V-12s that really belong in F1 cars. Nothing SCREAMS like the old F1 V-12s. . . V-8s belong in muscle cars & dragsters. V-10s belong in Dodge Vipers & Porsche Carrera GTs. And V-12s belong in front-engine GT Ferraris & Formula 1 cars. . . V-12s F. T. W.
@ediazcalvo I'm not gonna burn you but I will point out a couple of things... firstly, 2 seconds in Formula One is a lifetime and secondly, in 2009 F1 had slick tyres which are considerably faster than grooved tyres used in 2003 and as probably know this lap was almost a whole second slower than Rubens Barichello's pole time at Monza in 2004 when F1 cars were at their fastest.
@nunslittletoy Ok, we agree, but im comparing just laptimes. We all know that slick fact, but this cars were so inneficient for that engine: Rules? Ok, The time passes? Ok, evolution? Ok! Thanks god there's evolution...
@superalonso6999 Sorry but do you talken about?. Illegal it's when all four tyres cut chigane. Look better; Michael cut only whit only two tyres the first and second corner. That is the perfect lap, whit the best driver and car ever.
The most speed (369,900 km/h) has been try, from Montoya's lap. On monza circuit the maximum speed is important, but 'not the most' important parameter. Frequently the poor F1, is more speedest than the big F1 (Ferrari, MLaren, etc.). The driver should seek the maximum equilibrious, between speed and ground aderence. Well; the parabolic is befoure to try maximum speed, and if F1 don't go out of parabolic so fast and speed, is'nt important the maximum speed if the engine will try.
Why evrybody speak only about V10?. Yours maybe don't remember the sound of V12 Ferrari's..?. Well, SILENT PLEASE. The V8 is a greath engine, and to me the principal problem in F1 today, it's others". For exsample: the incredible and idiot circuit building, from ten years at today.
