  • i don't like fundamentalist Christians.

  • My name is Renetta. i am a person who loves musicals. are there songs that you do in a musical that make you cry or laugh

  • What a beautiful voice you have! It felt like you were singing to me when you sang "Always."

  • Can't believe I somehow missed this Vlog! And such an amusing one too with the pee pee teepee, the anyways stuff, etc.

Always has been one of my favourites of your recorded tracks for ever - so lovely to see you sing it live a cappella like that.

    Love to Cooper. Jen x

  • I like your Pee Pee Tee Pee. That was neat how you came up with the middle name. That lullaby was very touching and made me tear up. Cooper's whole name sounds like a law firm.

  • When are we going to get to see Cooper??

  • I love how you came about the name! I also love the peepee teepees! If my next niece/nephew due in November is a nephew I am so getting them some!

  • Hey Sam: You've got a great VLOG, or whatever it's called. My partner and I have a 3 year old little boy, and I just started singing 'Always' to him after hearing you do it. What other songs do you like to sing to Cooper. I need some ideas. Thanks. John

  • The first time I saw/heard the song "Always" was on As the World Turns when I was in high school. It was cheesy, but it made me cry. Your version was beautiful - I got a little teary. You are awesome and so positive. I'm a stay at home parent too (although my kids are 8 & 10) and the new baby talk brings back so many memories. Enjoy your boy - it goes fast!

  • you're pretty hypocritical here. I went ahead and checked the web as you suggested but instead of checking what people thought about fundamentalists I checked on what people thought about gays. If we are supposed to check the web for opinons and base who we are on that then you may want to reconsider being gay. I am disappointed by your hypocritical insults.

  • What?

  • I don't think he was being that literal when he said "shop the net." He also said he "may be wrong." Just let it go because in the grand scheme of every thing someone's negative opinion about our belief system really doesn't matter or change anything, now does it?

  • I KNEW IT. I really knew it. I knew that was going to be the lullaby.I love that song. First time I heard it was on your album. I sang it to my daughter too. Not regularly but from time to time. I NEVER got through it without crying.Beautiful.

  • I really wish I could write more in this little box so I could change your mind about fundamentalists. Since I can't we will have to agree to disagree. However, being a fundamentalist should not be a negative. It is a shame that the extreme has robbed us. That people would judge our beliefs based on fundamentals who made the news with their extreme messures. I don't imagine I can change your view. I would like to say congrats on Cooper and wish you all the joys of fatherhood. Be Blessed.

  • Sam! I was listening to your vlog turned down low with the baby sleeping nearby, and when you talked about the lights turning down low, I had to turn up the volume... then you yelled into the mic! Greeat, it woke the baby! Thanks Sam! :-)

  • Oh! you made me cry with your lullaby Sam!

    Lucky little Cooper.

  • sam love that you named after atticus finch. I cant wait to hear the rest of i love you more. The pee pee teepee was so cute, i wish they would of had them when my parents had childern. I love when you sing Always its one of my favorite songs you have done on any of your cds so far.

  • Oh my gosh....did you create the Pee Pee Tee Pee? I soooo wish I would have had them with my two boys! That is such a cool item! Also....I hand paint on glass, and I would like to make something for you that would pertain to Cooper. I would just need the full spelling of his name and his actual birthdate...but I have no clue where I would send something like that too. Do you have a special address that you recieve gifts too?

  • Your Voice wether you speak or sing..is Amazing..Keep the Spunk that is alive in you :)

  • I get happier and happier for you all the time! Such a perfect song, "Always". And I LOVE Atticus...perfect name.

    That last bit...still laughing!

  • Always, Irving Berlin, the song I remember the most of Sam Harris in the 80's, I included Sam's medley in a mixed tape that I tucked into a care package to my firstborn son who was adopted to the most wonderful couple in the world. I love you guys. You too Sam, Danny, Cooper, God Bless your family.

P.S. I know you want to hold him all night, but get some sleep Sam. :)

  • SAM - Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions!! You're always so engaging and often make us laugh. And gives me hope that there are people who appreciate the truths and strength of a character like Atticus Finch, in all of today's insanity and confusion.

  • we have very few things today, that puts a smile in our hearts the way you do Sam, stay with us and don't change. Your voice is one of the best STILL!

    Love 2 "U"

  • You're the sweetest funny guy.

Oh my gosh,War on War pee pee tee pee. LOL!

Be still my heart, you singing "Always" with your eyes full of Cooper love and family love.

    Thank you Sam.

    xoxo Tresa

  • I loved the book to kill a mockingbird I ened up buying the book after I read it in school to Kill a mockingbird and Catcher in the Rye is are two of my favourite books.

  • I am proud to say I am a Fundamentalists Christian Jew and A Fundamentalists Victorian

I love how you side pushes "gay" marriage but attacks polygamy another A.L.S. how open minded of you..

  • You're kidding me right? I don't know what to say to you since being a fundamentalist Christian Jew doesn't work for either fundamentalist Christians or fundamentalist Jews. I assume you're joking. I didn't attack polygamy - I said it was fundamentalist (in the Bible men had multiple wives but that's not exactly embraced by our modern culture). Personally I could use a few wives (or husbands) myself - Too much to do!!

    S

  • hey there sam. hope all is well with you and your family. thanks for sharing these great videos. take care.

    *tori*

  • I just love you more!!! Didn't think you could get cuter, but now that you are a Daddy, well... ;-)

I have a web-friend, who wrote a children's book "I Love You More" which is a bestseller now. Check the book out on Amazon, it is really special. So is Cooper's first name after "Gary?" :-)

  • I will check out that book!

    S

  • Being a parent just makes you more sweet, funny and lovable.-- This is kinda off the subject, but my wife's grandmother's favorite song was "Always." She ALWAYS wanted me to play it for her whenever we were around a piano. In addition to her favorite hymn, I played "Always" on the piano in the big church where her funeral was held.(She died at age 99.) Some people said they didn't cry at all until I played that song. Sweet, huh? I LOVED your a cappella version, too! Do you read these things?

  • PENIE???!!!???

That made me laugh so hard, even I may have made a little pee pee . . . LOL!

And OMG, my dear sweet Mom sang that very same song to me as a child. She passed away almost 6 years ago but I still believe that she is loving me "always".

  • Sleep depravation causes people to get mad at people saying "anyways".

    LOL. Love ya.

  • This is possible. Except I was mad about "anyways" before I was sleep deprived. Ask Todd.

    S

  • Oh Sam.....you had me in tears singing "I'll Be Loving You Always"...that's what I sang to my girls years ago (because you sang it of course). They are 20 and 18 now but when they have bad days they will ask me to rub their backs and sing that song.

I'm so glad your boy will always have "always" to comfort him.

  • I so appreciate that you adopted that song for your kids as well because you heard me sing it. That REALLY makes me happy.

    Sam

  • You should make a lullaby cd

  • As kind and interesting as you always were, you are even more so now. When you bring a infant into your home, there is not just one new person, but two. The new baby and the new you. You are never the same again. It changes your entire world. It's wonderful.

    Judi

  • You are right. I will never be the same again. How incredible.

    Sam

  • Now you have one of the most beautiful achilles heel's if you know what I mean. You will give all to him, do all for him and noone will ever be good enough for him.:)

  • Atticus! BEAUTIFUL, unique and that movie with Gregory Peck...oh my! Glorious. Oh, here come the Kleenex! The Roman basillica was neither Roman nor a basillica...discuss! I'm getting verklemmt!

  • LOL! And I never say LOL. But I am. I am LOL-ing

    Sam

  • Thank Linda Richmond/Michael Myers. Oh show us Cooper soon. Kleenex please! Talk amongst yourselves! Pardon this old meschuggener:)

  • Sam,

    You touch my heart.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Your love for Cooper and for life inspire me.

  • It's a cycle thang - thanks for telling me - you just returned the favor.

    Sam

  • ha ha Oh, to have children these days with all the new inventions like the Pee-Pee TeePee! I wonder if someday he will be embrassed about showing his Pee Pee Tee Pee on YouTube! lol Freida (Mrs. GeezerArt)

  • better than showing his actual penis, I suppose.

    Sam

  • you are such a "MOM"....lol

    re: "anyways"....agreed

my pet peeve is people saying, "I could care less"...you could? aaargh

  • That annoys me too. Or how about "irregardless." Not a word. I know a prominent director who says that ALL the time and I've just never been able to correct him. Plus, he's kind of arrogant so it gives me a secret pleasure.

    Sam

  • Your more recent vlogs make me reach for more Kleenex. I love them! It's Cooper's influence, he has affected you in such a great, good and positive way....naturally. HI DANNY!

  • perrypearl, my guten freund, i agree with you 100%. i am stocking up on the kleenex, for use when watching sam's vlogs about cooper :-) xoxo-vicki

  • Oh come on!! You guys have kids - you know the routine. I just a sap!

    Sam

  • OMG, you answered MY question on your video-vlog! I'm as giddy as a school girl with my first crush! Loved the lullaby--it is perfect.

NOW...I've suggested this twice. Plz take a pic of Cooper w/a teddy bear NOW. Take a pic of him every 6 mos w/the same teddy bear. It's a great way to measure his growth AND when U R ready to show him to us Vloggers, it will be a great visual for us! Honestly--it's an awesome idea!! :) Love U Sam...ALWAYS!

  • great idea

    SAm

  • Thanks Sam! I'm glad you liked this idea. Reclincers & car seats are OK but the recliner will probably be replaced, and the baby only fits in the car seat for so long. Taking a pic w/a teddy bear can be forever. Pics of Cooper with what will be his fave teddy bear throughout his life will be something he can cherish and pass down to his children! (OMG, one day you and Danny will be "bubba's" ha!) Love U Sam...ALWAYS!!

  • We took pictures of my youngest son in Grandpas recliner. And in the car seat, they grow so fast. Sigh. :)

  • what about anywho? does that annoy you

  • Sam.... I just recently found you through Rosie and Ross. And I am so glad I did. You are amazing and you just made me cry! The lullaby that you sing to your sweet baby boy and that your Mom sang to you, was one that my Mom used to sing to me. She has been gone 24 years and hearing you sing "Always" so beautifully twinged a heart string and brought back a lovely memory. Thank you!

  • Glad we could bring your mom back singing to you for a second. You made my night.

    Sam

  • oh you'll look great with long hair!

as an english teacher, ANYWAYS is just abhorrent. as is TOWARDS. it's TOWARD. unless one is in the U.K.

  • Conversely, I love the way they say "schedule" in the U.K.

  • Sam, you are so funny and your lullaby made me "veklimp". My second son was due (scheduled c-section) on Friday the 13th. In Amy Winehouse's words, "No, no, no." He was born on Thursday, the 12th, thank you very much!! love and hugs to Cooper's parents

  • thanks for the hair update...Do I hear an album (cd)of lullabies in your future? Always...

  • I think you defined the charactor of Atticus beautifully. Anyway, Al Jolson is not spelled with a t.

  • My bad. I thought it was an obvious pun since everyone got a JOLT expecting a lullaby.

Sam does not write any of the text anywhere, and since he was Jolson, and one of his favorite entertainers, I'm sure he knows how to spell it. :-)

    Sam's Web Guy

  • Thanks for this post. I can't imagine that the person who wrote about being a fundamentalist truly is one, for a real fundamentalist might be a fan of your music, but would not watch your videos and expose himself to values that are so against his/her own (=pro gay).

  • OK, I give up, must be technically challenged. Got an email, said my question had been answered, can't find it on the latest vlogs, can't find it in the written comments. All I want is an address or P.O. Box to send Cooper a gift. Am I missing something somewhere? ANYWAY, hugs to Cooper. PULEEZE, an address!

  • OH NO! I think I say "Anyways" Never again. Yikes. Oh you made me shoot water out of my nose when you were talking about the day of silence, that you must have missed it because you were talking! You crack me up. The pee pee tee pee, That's hilarious. I remember bringing my first son home from the hospital, I went to change his diaper he soaked me, his father, the drapes and then decided to poop all over the bed! YAH! Grant was home!

  • Dear Happy Daddy,

Do you adopt older big kids too? lol

Nice lullaby, just in time for my bedtime.. Thanks!

  • sam, i can't take it anymore! lol. just when i thought this vlog was going to be fun and light, you go and sing that beautiful song and there go the tearducts! i must say, i giggled uncontrolably (is that a word?) when you brought out the pee pee tee pee. so darn cute to see your giddiness. xoxo-vicki

  • I would say you could adopt me but I'm 20 I don't think that's possible. :-\

  • hahaha my grandmother ALWAYS corrected "anyways"... I love it!

  • I'm new to the peepee teepee but now I'm wondering if they have a version for adults? I mean someday when I'm old and in a nursing home, I would think the nurse's aide would appreciate such a thing. I want peace symbols on mine.

  • I like how you say, "Hello Vlog People!" ANYWAYS (just kidding) Your partner does a VERY GOOD impression of you when you had him on friend friday a while back. hahahaha

  • Congrats Sam!

I'm only 19, but I can't wait to have a baby. If I wasn't in college right now, I probably would have one... =]

P.S. I love the cow painting that you made for Cooper.
