@MegaSimon70 Please re-read my comment. I know the E Street Band did not play as a unit on Tunnel of Love. But that is not what I wrote. The E Street Band did tour with him in 1988, during the Tunnel of Love Express (which included the famous East Berlin concert).
The amazing thing about this song is how it brings forth the truth in all of us. The perfect, the imperfect, working in perfect harmony. No rights, no wrongs, however the grey-ness of this medium can bring forth the torment that lies in us all, why are we so good and/or bad to one another....Truly a rare and impacting song regarding relationships and all the emotions that follow...

I love this song, but i remember back when this album came out, it wasn't received particularly well for one reason. Bruce gave the E-Street Band the boot. They did not play on this album, and they did not tour with him. His fans were mostly pissed at him for doing that. He learned his lesson, not to be two-faced.
@isgoodno he did have the e street band with him but with nils and no little steven, and he also , for the first time shifted their positions on stage and most off all , had started something with patti.. a time of change, but 22 yrs down the track from tol , the magic still works wouldn't you say..may he keep on travelling and take us with him as always...

this song really hits home for me, really tells of how we struggle with inner demons in all of us.

I think a lot of guys feel like that man. I think this album (Tunnel of Love) has gotta be the best ever written about relationships.

You are mistaken, the Tunnel of Love Express included the E Street Band.

@worldwideboss Nope! Only one contributing is roy bittan! All else is played by The Man himself!
