You say that this would increase the power to weight ratio, but wouldnt it be more practical to add a supercharger or a turbosupercharger? Also, the piston only applies compressed air half of the time, with the other half being intake, so some of the pulses of compressed air would not coincide with the intake strokes of the powered cylinders, meaning that there is unequal sharing of the compressed air. This would be overcome by a supercharger.
