one of the best & melodious composition lata g sang in her career. bulo c rani didnt get that fame in his career limited 2 few movies. its an xlnt upload we all r nostalgic for.
A most beautiful song and so well taken by the superb actress Shashikala who later on gave superb performances in a totally different style in "Gumnaam" and specially "Aarti" for which she got the Filmfare award.
thanks to rumahaleji thanks to dipiaarji.i can only say one thing about bulo c rani. that ,unlike other great hindi musicians,YE PHOOL APNI LITAFAT KI DAD PA NA SAKA KHILA ZAROOR MAGR KHIL KE MUSKRA NA SAKA thanks for loading/sharing
What a lovely song. I had forgotten all about it. Thanks for the reminder. Bulo C Rani, the composer, did in fact commit suicide in real life, which gives the song great poignancy.
True; born in 1920 in Hyderabad, Sind, [now in Pakistan]; His full name was Bulo Chandiram Ramchandani.
He spent his last days in complete loneliness and the most unfortunate event of his life occured very silently on 24th May 1993 - committing suicide.
The song he composed in the voice of Lata in his last film 'Sunhare Qadam' was 'Maangne se jo maut mil jaati, Kaun jeeta zamane men...'. Irony of fate was that in life he asked for death and he got it.
@rumahale fabulous. thanks. do you have any more songs from this film? i am looking for the songs from this film written by my father anand bakshi. in my fathers records the music of this film is mentioned as S Mohinder. are you certain the music is by bulo c rani? thanks.
I am delighted to receive communication from you being the son of illustrious poet. I do not have other songs from this movie. In fact this was uploaded by ' dipiaar' (D P Rajadhyaksha from Bombay) and he did mention the name of the music director and I followed with some details. Now I have checked again web sources and confirm that it was Bulo C Rani. Plz. check again the song you mention - may be it has slight different lyrics and from other movie. Thanks.
Manganese jo maut mil jati, kaun jeeta is zamaane mein,it simply means, if one could seek death only by asking who would live in this world. "Manganesey" simply means "asking for".
Hindi & Urdu languages are very beautiful indeed, and often the meaning gets a bit lost in translation.

whats manganese?
jamspice11 3 years ago
The words in the song tontext should have been "maang ney se"
The meaning of the lyrics loosely translated is "If death was granted to us just by mere asking, who would remain alive in this world".
However "Manganese" is an element LOL. So I understand your question :-)
