Hook Champ was $0.99 the weekend it came out... you must have snagged it when it was on sale. Now it's $2.99 and still well worth the money.
Supposedly it's gonna go on sale again when their new DLC patch hits. The patch is free and will include all kinds of new stuff like a new playable character, new maps and various tweaks and bug fixes.
