Is this THE rail road of Guatemala? I'm contemplating opening a factory around El Progresso or El Rancho because it has a rail system to the ports, but this looks like its out of the USA 1800's.
Does Guatemala's railroad still operate today in 2010. I didn't know they had container freight trains. What type of fuel does the steam locomotive burn? oil, coal, or wood?
I remember as a child going on this train from guatemala city to coatepeque , my heart broke of joy when watching this , thanks nickblewitt for taking me back in time again to my old days !
nice video... i'm from guatemala i make this steam train trip every year with henry posner and jorge senn they are friends of my dad. its there a posibility that you send me some pictures you take this trip? thanks
I remember it, I used only one time from Zacapa to Guate I was 8 now i'm 29 and when i saw this video the memories came and it was like if that had happened yesterday..thank you guys for posting this video.
I was born in El Rancho, I remember this locomotive "I was afraid of it" It was only use for tourist that was around 1985, Great memories, I wish I was a little boy again.
Poor Guatemala !!! No railways in your land !!! It's the return to the stone age of the road !

Why do these guys hang on the whistle so much: typical of many american engineers - just showing off

Sería fabuloso poder restaurar estas máquinas...
Es una lástima que aquí en Guatemala se deje en el abandono algo tan valioso...
