  • The rowing movement she shows moves from working the lats > teres major > posterior deltoid, I'm not sure which of these would be 'bra strap', but I hope she's talking about building the muscle and not some kind of spot isolation silliness.

  • @YellowBluStripz2874 The most common thing to use is filled up water bottles.. But, if you want something with more than 1 or 2 pounds then you should probably just go ahead to the store and buy some weights. :P

  • @YellowBluStripz2874 Every object has weight, so if you don't want to purchase dumbbells (they're rather cheap these days, about $/lb) there are objects around the house, soupcans being a good example. You can get a rough idea of the weight by the listed amount of grams (though I think this is just the weight of good, it would be slightly more including the metal). If you have a light food scale you can also weigh that way.

    Experiment with pretty much everything.

  • How long many days should I "rest" before I do the exercises again? And when I say rest I mean so the muscles don't get over-course or something, heard that the muscles needed to rest.

  • I'd say they mean simply repeat 30-60 times, whatever you feel you can comfortably push yourself to do. Not 30 times, that'd be a bit much. =)

  • I've been a personal trainer for 30 years.Why didn't that instructor talk about the supination and pronation of the wrist in performing that bicep movement The torso needs to be paralell to the floor when that particular back movement is done. She should also explain that the biceps muscle group only makes up 1/3 of the arm. If a person wants real results. you have to pay attention to details.

  • I strongly agree. Instead she just wants to explain the simplest way that a person can do it while taking the least amount of time. Then when a person does try this [and we are going to assume its a first timer who actually stretched before hand] then they feel something and they keep doing it. Then they will purchase any fucking product she said.

    Just cheap marketing. She doesn't really care.

  • I think that so called fitness expert should be with that group of people that go to thje gym to socialize. There have been times that I have become quite vocal in the gym with some of my students. (and to think how much she was paid to say that kind of crap!)
