I like the Dragunov. Its probably one of the coolest looking Sniper rifles made. Its not as accurate as US or Nato sniper rifles but its accurate enough for hunting. Its typical Russian low technology, low grade military equipment. But lots of fun to shoot.

I can read that some call it "mass produced garbage" The Zastava (in Yugoslavia) made a copy of svd called M76 and I heard from a man who was an army sniper and tests rifles, that the M76 can hit a coin at 100m (330feet). I think thats not garbage at all. And the effective range is about 800m (3740feet).

The K98k is old, and more prone to waer out of its accuracy, But it is more accurate than the mosin, for a period of time, even with proper lubing/cleaning. Mosin Nagant is a little less accurate, only until the K98k waers out. As the mosin doesnt wear for a long time. K98ks, are only good for sniper missions near its freindly territory, as it wont have its accuracy for long as it waers out, and needs replacement of internal parts. Mosin, is great for long term missions.

Nobody know what sniping means anymore, my uncle was a marine sniper. Snipers rarely shoot! kids dont understand. Marksmen fire alot, snipers shoot 1 out of 3 missions, so they dont need a semiautomatic 100 clip gun, they need the most reliable, accurate, and light gun they can get. The current best sniper rifles you can get: M700, M40,Cheytac M200 408. caliber intervention rifle. nearly all sniper, GOOD snipers, has bolt action rifles. Only the movies snipers, or Marksmens, used semiauto rifles

I will agree with you,my grandfather who served as a sniper in ww2 carried a mosin sniper and a ppsh and he told me he would use the mosin nagant bolt action sniper rifle for the long range shots and when they would get into close fighting he would use the ppsh machine gun.
