weder GENIALE MUSIK noch heute AKTUELL. dummer, deutscher pennäler langweiler scheiss, den nur angeber und komplex pickel typen gut fanden. kalt., wichtigtuerisch, prahlersich gespielt, gefühllos und mechanisch. das ist exakt die perfekte wiedergabe der krankheit der späten 70er jahre, als alles fade, technisch, angeberisch, prätentiös und seelenlos wurde. gut, dass ich schon damals auf diesen scheissdreck nicht reingefallen war

@freedomisnocrime Hör`halt auf Pop-Musik zu hören. Es gibt auch gute, nur mal nebenbei, aber ich bin eigentlich mit 50Jahren Lebensalter größtenteils weg davon. Das heißt nicht, daß ich nicht ab und zu mal paar Sachen höre. Kraan war kein Pop sondern halt Kraan. Ich habe sie einmal gesehen und war beeindruckt von Hattlers Fähigkeiten am Bass. Aber drei Minuten nach Kraan hören, konnte ich mich schon an kein Lied spezifisch irgendwie erinnern. Hat nix in mir berührt.

@freedomisnocrime kraan sind zwar jazzfrickler aber keineswegs kalte technokraten, allein let it out oder Nam Nam oder Peterchens Mondfahrt oder Gayu Gaya sind herzallerliebste schöne Songs.. Die anderen Abflüge gen Jazzrock sind ebenfalls so eionziagrtig wie Jazzrock eben ist wie Return to forever,,Kraan sind sehr sehr nette Typen, ich kenn die inzw persönllich und das ist kein kaltes deutwches Zeugf.. UNd deutsche können sehr wohl coole Popmusik schreiben sogar die Krautrocker. Beispiel CAN

That's what happens to the great ones- they don't get heard too much, and end up with the other treasures that those of us with taste enjoy like Gentle Giant, Mahavishnu, early (Gabriel-era Genesis), Jeff Beck, PFM, Return to Forever, etc. Great band!

Saw Kraan live three times around the Frankfurt/Mainz area back around 1980. It was fantastic. The first concert was ion Mains Eltzer hof with the old drummer: fantastic. The second was with Gerry Brown: incredible! The third was with Gerry on drums and a vocalist who always played the keys. Still great, but I didn't like it as much as the other concerts. Still: when Ingo Bischof started hitting the keys, he brought the house down. Wonderful musicians throughout, great wacky German jazz-fusion.

This is fantastic...thank God for Youtube. Have been a fan of Kraan since 1976 (when no one in the Midwest even knew they existed), and seeing them for the first time on video is great. Wollbrandt, Hattler, Fride and the drummer are all virtuosos. Too bad there's not much jazz fusion around these days. Check out Kraan's WIEDERHOREN and FLYDAY albums--my personal favorites.
