But overall the Germans given the shortages and lack of urgent supplies for their tank-core (albeit the entire Wehrmacht) are in my opinion the best despite their eventual defeat.

The Tiger could destroy 20 enemy T-34 without any troubles.
Example: There is a (true) story of a Tiger wo was hitted over 200(!) times by enemy T-34, in more than 2 Hours, but the Tiger destroyed them all (nearly 32 tanks) and drove to the next german Headquarter. He had a few scretches but the Crew survived.

at those ranges the penetration parameters of each gun combined with the armour would result in penetration most probably, but you guys are forgetting that even if you penetrate a tanks armour you won't necessarily destroy it, you would need to hit in the ammunition storage or the fuel tank, or the turret ring or something.
That T34 has a 100% crew which are all upgraded with firefighting, repairs, and camouflauge capabilities. The panther however is stock with a 50% and have nothing else.

just so you people know the soviet tank in the video is not a t34 but is a KV1. they were used in small numbers during the battle as they were not being produced much anymore. its not completely ridiculous that it would destroy a panther like that as at the battle panther crews were not that well trained and that was one of the reasons for their poor performance at it, that and they suffered mechanical problems as well.

@Sonderabteilung27 Not quite like that... Russia had a huge advantage in numbers, that´s for sure. But russian technology could be cheap AND have quality; there are many examples of that. In 1940, the best tank in the world was probably the T-34: sloped armor, good speed, good armament (until that time, remember that the german tanks only mounted a 50mm gun, or a short barreled 75mm gun, the last one useful only against soft targets mostly).

Dann war die Panzerung schräg wodurch die eigentliche Panzerung verdoppelt wurde. Informier dich mal richtig. Als der T 34 1941 auftaucht ist hatten wir keinen gleichstarken Panzer. Erst als der Panzer IV ein längeres Rohr bekam war er ebenbürtig. Ud die IS Panzer konnten es locker mit nem Tiger aufnehmen. Sieh es ein ich musstes es auch.

The Ausf. A series of the Panther was bad, they every single Panther from the Ausf. A series broke down and their turrets ended up as stationary pill-boxes on defensive positions. They where good pill-boxes indeed.
on the other hand there is a reason that hitler kept postponing citadel & one of those reasons was to wait for the bugs to be worked out of the panther. & it still was'nt quite ready when he rushed it to kursk. there were problems with the ignition, transmission & the wierd track & roadwheel configuration. you'd catch hell trying to replace an inner roadwheel. & to try an recover a pather forom the battlefield with anything less than a Famo halftrack was damn near impossible. t-34 pros: easy to make, simplicity to maintain, diesel engine which does not nessasarily explode when hit, wide tracks for manuveralbiliti, sloped angled armor to aid in protection, (during barbarossa only the 88mm could kill it other than blowing a track), powerfull 76mm gun & 2 degtarev 7.62 mg. tremendous psychological shock to germans. cons: during barbarossa only about 1200 each of '40 & '41 model in service, commander must act as gunner, other than commanders tank no radio. a masterpiece.
T34 could hammer any german tanks only at close range, mainly due to poor optic of T34's, and definitely lack of crew training, Sovyet's Generals always emphasize on charging their tank corp without returning fire to germans unit, until the range is suicidally close.
alright im sortin this out the t34 was faster because it had little weight and didnt need a very powerfull engine unlike the tiger because it had a lot of armor and was very heavy this case is closed

just so you people know the soviet tank in the video is not a t34 but is a KV1. they were used in small numbers during the battle as they were not being produced much anymore. its not completely ridiculous that it would destroy a panther like that as at the battle panther crews were not that well trained and that was one of the reasons for their poor performance at it, that and they suffered mechanical problems as well.

Russian tanks were good only because they were more cheaper to build, the strong point was theyr numbers. In order for them to take out tiger tanks or panther tanks they had to get close, the german tanks would very easy take them out. Flak 88 can destroy a t34 so stop fantasizing. German tanks and theyr crew were the best, the down point was that they were very few compared to the allies. And one last thing world of tanks is not something from witch to make statements about how WW II tanks were

@Sonderabteilung27 Not quite like that... Russia had a huge advantage in numbers, that´s for sure. But russian technology could be cheap AND have quality; there are many examples of that. In 1940, the best tank in the world was probably the T-34: sloped armor, good speed, good armament (until that time, remember that the german tanks only mounted a 50mm gun, or a short barreled 75mm gun, the last one useful only against soft targets mostly).

The aforementioned is resumed from a report made by the US in 1942.
It is also true that they were no match for Tigers or Panthers in straight combat, but remember that the majority of the Wehrmach tanks were the Panzer III and the Panzer IV (with something like 10.000 Stug IIIs produced also)

@Sonderabteilung27 88mm Flak can destroy it with easy, but remember that these guns were somewhat scarce, and many fell under the command of the Luftwaffe (as it´s primary role was AA, after all) The more common AT guns like the PaK 38 and the PaK 40 could deal with it too.
German crews were, for most of the war, excellent. But if you had given them T-34s, and Panthers and Tigers to the Russians, results would ve been the same. Remember, the greatest military victories of the German Army...

In 1939, they didn´t have sth like the Somua S-35 or the British Matilda... and they still managed to crush the French Army, and the BEF. In 1941, "we had nothig comparable" (M.G. Mellentinh, Chief of Staff of the XLVIII Panzer Corps) and they still managed to reach the gates of Moscow.
And I agree with you: WoT is not a source to make statements :D Some say Russian tanks are way OP in that game.

At a later time the very same Panther commander had contacted Russian commander to call Aleksandr Milyukov with his T-34 to a duel one on one. Outcome was: 1 destroyed Panther and three German Tiger tanks by hands of Milyukov's T-34 tank crew. Memoirs of Milyukov and official battle records serve as a proof of this battle.

@undertaker0629 Ne ne. Das lag nicht nur am Diesel. Die Panzer hatten breitere Ketten wodurch sie nicht im so leicht im Matsch stecken blieben. Dann war die Panzerung schräg wodurch die eigentliche Panzerung verdoppelt wurde. Informier dich mal richtig. Als der T 34 1941 auftaucht ist hatten wir keinen gleichstarken Panzer. Erst als der Panzer IV ein längeres Rohr bekam war er ebenbürtig. Ud die IS Panzer konnten es locker mit nem Tiger aufnehmen. Sieh es ein ich musstes es auch.

The BT tank series. The T-34 is just an improved version of the BT tanks series which were basically identical copies of Christie's tanks. Go do some research.

Well this cinematic is epic for sure, but the result is pretty unrealistic. I'm a little surprised and disappointed that a panther wasn't able to penetrate the T-34's turret from that range :O. Of course T-34 is an awesome tank but from that range panther should just have won. No turret no shot. So I'm just guessing that the maker of this cinematic was a Russian tank fan...

Yeah,you see what happened was the Panther was stolen by 5 Ukrainian children who were not very experienced tankers,if an actual German tank crew was in that awesome Pzkw V Panther that fight would have been very different,for example,the German crew would have shot and ko'ed the T-34 when his sides were exposed in the very beginning of the encounter .

The Ausf. A series of the Panther was bad, they every single Panther from the Ausf. A series broke down and their turrets ended up as stationary pill-boxes on defensive positions. They where good pill-boxes indeed.

on the other hand there is a reason that hitler kept postponing citadel & one of those reasons was to wait for the bugs to be worked out of the panther. & it still was'nt quite ready when he rushed it to kursk. there were problems with the ignition, transmission & the wierd track & roadwheel configuration. you'd catch hell trying to replace an inner roadwheel. & to try an recover a pather forom the battlefield with anything less than a Famo halftrack was damn near impossible. t-34 pros: easy to make, simplicity to maintain, diesel engine which does not nessasarily explode when hit, wide tracks for manuveralbiliti, sloped angled armor to aid in protection, (during barbarossa only the 88mm could kill it other than blowing a track), powerfull 76mm gun & 2 degtarev 7.62 mg. tremendous psychological shock to germans. cons: during barbarossa only about 1200 each of '40 & '41 model in service, commander must act as gunner, other than commanders tank no radio. a masterpiece.

T34 could hammer any german tanks only at close range, mainly due to poor optic of T34's, and definitely lack of crew training, Sovyet's Generals always emphasize on charging their tank corp without returning fire to germans unit, until the range is suicidally close.
