This is video is amazing.... I love this team so much, since I was five years old and could start watching baseball I have loved this team. I remember so many of these moments it funny, my years as a fan are really going up.. I remember when Jeter made the back hand play in Oakland in 2001, or when he dove into the stands in 03, when Boone hit the hr in 03 against boston, when El Duque struck out 13 against the mets in the 2000 series and now what Tex did. Its truly amazing, amazing team and fan
I got to go to the original stadium last year and sit in the dugout. Gosh, I wish they don't have to tear it down. DX I mean, how many baseball legends played there? But, you know, they're doing well in the new stadium, and there will be more legends.
You're an idiot on multiple levels. They didn't tear it down yet, though they will in August I think. But more importantly, you are boycotting the team because they switched stadiums. Clearly not a real fan so no one gives a shit what you think.
the new stadium may look like the old one but it will never be the same, there is like, a spitit at the old one like the goasts of yankee greats are still there
I was at the last game at the Stadium and the first game at Stadium and it doesn't compare. You could pump all the money in the world into a place but it was the history that made the old Stadium great.
im a huge yankee fan. this place is gonna be missed, but it was never the same after the renevation. the whole renevation took so much character out of the stadium
i was only i wanna say 5 but i was on a vacation to new york (i live in los angeles) and my dad took me to see the yankees
and it was david cones perfect game
all i remember from that experience was that this old man said "young man, you are going to have to put this day down in your diary because you will probably never see something like this happen again" as we were walking out
and at that time, i had no clue why he was saying that
The most recognized sports venue in the world, also has the most sacred spot in baseball, home plate, where baseball's immortal's stood and made history. Babe Ruth hit a majority of his home runs in that very spot. I always wanted to stand there, but now I will, in an empty lot.
I was there and i can tell you the memorial is the best thing I ever put my eyes on. better than video games. better than love. better than stuff. it is YANKEE LOVE. farewell yankee stadium. we will miss you. R.I.P. Yankee Stadium 1923-2008. the home that lou gherig and babe ruth created.
man what a sad ending to yankee stadium , im a huge yankee fan and them not making the playoffs is a bit harder. hopefully the new stadium brings many years of joy.hope the red sox suck in the postseason.
amen to that brother. but dont be sad. next year, fresh pitching, refrehsed players, new dynasty, new stadium, never forgotton past, good future memories. :). theres one thing that peice of shit fengay park will never have...and thats a great dynasty like the yankees. and they will never become better than us. they will never have a great ceromony like the all star game and the closinbg season celebration. yankees rule!!!
What makes this goodbye doubly poignant is that not only are we saying goodbye to Yankee Stadium but, by the Yankees not making the playoffs, we're saying goodbye to an era - a dynasty.
not exacly. we are just saying goodbye to the stadium. not the dyansty! are you crazy. 26 ws will always be with us! and all the great memories. we are just moving across the street. new era for greatness. here we come :)!
Anybody who's a real American should boycott the new Yankee Stadium. Leave it to the rich corporate pukes that bled New York taxpayers, and upped the price.
When you run the corporate rich maggots out then you can fumigate and return.
People really wont realize who great the stadium is until its gone. yankee stadium isnt a baseball stadium, its a cathedral, and for it to be torn down, its just terrible.
im not a yankees fan, but as a fan of the game, its sad to see The House That Ruth Built go...ill miss Yankee Stadium
especially since my Astros no-hit the Yankees there...but my favorite Yankee Stadium moment is in 1976 when Chris Chamblis hit the homer and they let everyone on the field before he could touch home (The Bronx Zoo)
I feel bad because my Dad is a big yanks fan. He never has any time to attend a live game becuase he lives upstate and has his own business. I have always wanted to take him to see the Yanks at the old stadium and I guess I never will :*( I weep for him.
That was beautiful, true, and honorable. My only criticism would be that you didn't make it long enough, as there are so many stupendous things that have been brought to life in that hallowed hall.

I like the new yankee team.
the outfielders: Granderson, Winn, and Swisher.
The Infielders: Rodriguez, Teixera, Jeter, Cano, and Posada. and DH Nick Johnson very solid as long as Johnson stays healthy.

We as Americans truly don't care about anything, the steinbreners obviously proved that.
Yankee Stadium was America's equivalent to Rome's Coliseum now it's gone.
