  • I have this, and ran it in an AC30 and it does same as yours...not much actual attenuation. However, I put that thing in a 5 watter and it kills! Hence the name Brake "Lite". Lite maybe referring to less wattage. Honestly you need a more powerful attenuator for a 30.

  • @Guppy915 i have an AC15 & it still seems really loud with full attenuation. would you recommend another attenuator??

  • The volume stayed the same as far as I could hear??? Why cant it be used on a Head and Cab, why only a combo?

  • great Grissom-like tone!

  • Hello, What happens if you use the braklite attenuator with a 46 watt amp. Does it blow the amp up?

  • @bbluesguitarr probably ruins the brake lite.

  • Did the Brake Lite bring down the volume enough so that you can play your amp in your apartment without disturbing your neighbors?

I'm looking at the Dr.Z MAZ 18 Jr NR and I'm trying to decide if I would need the Brake Lite for playing in an apartment or house.

  • @HankTheFly Ya it's very loud. I'd definitely recommend the Brake Lite. It doesn't give you bedroom volume but it helps you reach the sweet spot at more manageable volumes.

  • I agree that it appears not to affect the tonal balance, and for that, this demo is great!

  • good man...would you recommend one?

  • i would i like mine a lot.

  • The compression makes it appear to have the same loudness throughout, but you can tell that the Brake Lite has very little to no effect on actual tone even though it adds more breakup as you move up to the highest levels of attenuation. Pretty interesting demo.

  • Thanks, ...... yeah i was sorta bummed when i uploaded the vid and it was compressed to where they all sounded like they had the same volume.

  • In a way, that's good because it gives the benefit of being able to easily and directly compare the tones at different settings. From this, you can clearly hear that it's rather transparent.

  • @joemiracle220

yep. the volume level sure doesn't change much due to the compression.

  • Nice review. That guitar is awesome!

  • thanks
