awesome pet, except the fact that people neglect the fact that it does grow, and it grows fast...9 out of 10 times, people have to surrender them to zoo's and/or if you live in NYC, like myself, the notorious "sewer alligators" exist...i have a tank full of red belly piranhas, as wild as i went so far, id get the caiman but i would get attached to it, like any pet and i wouldnt want to give it up

Not completely true. Its primarily alligators, or other sub species of crocs/caimans that end up that way. A Cuvier's Dwarf caiman won't get much more than 4 feet long, keeping in mind they grow a little bit every day of there life unlike mammals and have HUGE life spans, Cuviers arent a big problem. But unlike the bigger gators, they pack on hell of an attitude. Gonna prolly get 1 next year(when everything is ready & set up), start w/ the 50 gallon, then move em into the 7 foot aquarium.

they're ain't really such thing as taming a reptile...even bearded dragons aren't really tamed just tolerate being handled...no lizard ever likes it. If all lizards were okay with being around things many times theyre size, they wouldn't survive in the wild.

Cuivers dwarf caimans get to about 4 feet to 5 full lenght. Your thinking of a spectaled caiman. Those get to 6-8 feet long.

It is the SMALLEST crocodilian on earth - and I think that's why he chose that one. It is also one of the shyest crocodilian but don't let that mislead you. If you hit it, it'll fight back.
