...oh shoot, I just found out you're in San Francisco! Lol You sound like you're Scottish or something. No matter, that's even better. I'm just in Sacramento! At the very least I could probably just order them online. I'm really trying to start doing this. I have some wheat berries in some water in a bowl and I thought I'd try to make bread out of those once they start sprouting. Someone on another video said the sprouts need to be about the length of the berries themselves. Thought I'd try it.
The divider would be perfect for ME because I live in this little bitty 2 bedroom apartment. I've been wondering about buying a home though, after I graduate from college, and then the sky's the limit and I can even get my dream pets I've wanted since before I graduated from high school: a Persian kitten and a Golden Retriever puppy! Anyway, you sound like you're nowhere near me, so hopefully those things are available worldwide. Lol
I guess what you said not to do, such as wrapping in newspaper is NOT necessary for it to grow. But, to make the sprouts thicker, they need resistance to push on. When we were the rare asian person in Texas in the 60's, beansprouts were a 60 mile drive to a Asian grocery, so we had to make our own, by putting the on a tray in a oven and put layers of cheese cloth on it. They would grow w/o, but grew thick with.
Is 12h soaking too long or is it ok, because they say if you soak the grains too long it will drown and die. I want to sprout barley grains can you tell me what is the perfect soaking hours.
I'm loving the content; sprouts are my thing (my blog is called "Bicycles and Beansprouts"). I adore when you basically say that you are "one with the seed"; your mindfulness and awareness are plainly evident (nice homage; Steinbeck's "East of Eden" is my fave book of all time). Goin' shopping for more seeds tomorrow...my summer meals are shaping up nicely. Thanks for sharing your sage advice on simple, wholesome foods; I hope more of the world will take notice. Namaste'.
Thanks for the good video. Compared to other sprout videos I have seen, you seem to harvest yours once you see the first hint of sprouting. You said other than that it's a "science experiment". Can you explain why? For example, with Alfalfa sprouts, shouldn't you wait till they get a little greener? or longer? and don't they produce more food when you let them grow more?

It's better if use cylinder type pot. This will make soybean sprouts grow uniformly avoiding crooked sprouts.

@paulgem123 I think you used wrong seeds. You should use seeds that are specially for sprouting.

I ordered from this company and they never sent my order and they will not respond to my email request for refund. I would not trust this company

I notice you are using tap water. Do we need to worry about chlorine in the tap water?
