I can't believe that the police caught them. That is great! All the times my stuff was stolen I never saw it again. How long did it take to get your boat back? Any damage? Glad you got it back, the good guys win one. I wonder why the boats don't get found in Australia? They don't check VINs there?
@diesel5599, I stand by my comment. This video did not lead the police to the suspect. They were already watching him. This video was useful for watching your boat get stolen buy some guy in a black pick up. I was trying to help u dill weed. I use trail cameras and rain or shine or total darkness they give me a clear video or stills of whatever tripped it.
@TheMongocat Ok I guess you will not do a simple Google search so I will help you out; no trail camera can record 24/7 for a year straight and store that video on a 1TB HD from 8 different cameras; my system can. Also, it takes highly specialized cameras to record license plates at night. I know the video quality sucks, I know it would be nice if CCTV technology were more advanced, but its not and your comments simply show your ignorance. Trail cameras are toys, not CCTV systems.
Crap video, just got to watch someone steal your boat. The camera is useless, why have it? If you spent $150 or less on a nature trail camera you would have had HD Quality pictures of his license plate and a super clear picture of the dude. Could have zip tied it to the telephone pole or the tree. If you can't find out who stole your shit then you might as well junk the camera.
@TheMongocat If you were to spend even 10 min researching CCTV systems and how they work in the real world you would realize the complete inaccuracy of every statement you just made.
@diesel5599 exactly.....even freeware would give a clear view of this guys nose-hair. if you want to be safe, install a CCTV system. the nosey neighbor is afraid, the nosey neighbor is on the net masturbating......CCTV is always there.
The thief sure didn't seem to be in a hurry here. They've probably done this before to appear so calm and cool about it. But it really is amazing how brazen people can be.
They probably did you a favor stealing it anyways ... glad you got you insurance money for it . Most of them wont give you a dime unless they have a physical piece of the boat .
Congratulations on getting your boat back and seeing the thief caught and sent to jail.
I had a trailer with two JetSkis on it in my driveway, and an attempt to steal it was made. I kept a non-running car parked in front of the trailer and the thieves tried to move it. My neighbor called the cops and they got there within five minutes while the two guys were still trying to push the car out of the way.
Someone tried to steal my old boat from my driveway a few years ago. The elderly woman that lived next door had released my dog and the dog took care them. I thought not bad for an old dog with three legs
why is there a video camera, pointing to a boat sitting within 20 feet of the road, no hitch lock? Is this like an episode of bait car, but with no cops?
What on earth were you thinking? I'm still trying to figure out why you had a video cam on it and no lock... you expected it to be stolen?
@perltech I had just washed the boat and moved it to near the end of the driveway so it would not fill with leaves. There is a large tree off camera that would have covered it in leaves within hrs. I have had the CCTV system for yrs, it finally got put to good use. The boat was 9000 lbs, my lock for my prior boat did not fit the tongue and I had not gotten around to getting a new one. Hindsight is always 20/20
Sorry to see that man. My truck was stolen back in 2008 and I got it back the next day thankfully. I hope it was either found or the insurance took good care of you. Good luck.
@mrpearl1 A tongue lock takes seconds to remove, people seem to forget the tongue is held on by two bolts, all you do is remove the whole tongue and put a new one on, a chain also takes seconds to cut with a bolt cutter. These guys owned a marina, instead of taking 2 min it would have taken them 5 min.
@mrpearl1 A lock would not prevented anything . You can just use some #12 electrical wire and let it hang off the ball or chassis . I know because I lost my key in the middle of no where one time and had to find a way to get somewhere I could buy a bolt cutter .
This is so crazy ! I just had a boat stole from right in fron tof my appt. and only about 1mile from there shop in St.Petersburg Fl. I wonder if these guys had any thing to do with it ? Snipped the chain and away they went, broad daylight. If you live in the st pete area please keep you eyes open for a 2006 Seadoo Sporster, yellow and black. There is a $1000 reward.

I don't know about international gangs but I am 100% positive that I gave my boat to Mark Conner/Suncoast Marine to broker the sale and now my boat is gone. The salesperson said it sold to a guy named Carl from Canada. They collected over 10k for my boat and didn't pay off my lien. So...if you see a beautiful Sea Ray out on the bay and a dude named Carl from Canada is driving it...let him know he bought a stolen boat. :(
@rhonnyw check your messages, I sent you a reply, you can still get paid for your boat, just follow the directions I sent you in the message. If you have any questions let me know.
the organized group of boat thieves arrested down in Ft Meyers/Naples reached up to PInellas County with their thefts...10 have been arraigned ...2 escaped...anybody know who this "Rude News" is below???..they seem to have a vested interest in stolen boats......there are a lot more bottom feeders that need to be questioned..from Miami to Jacksonville..if I have connected the dots.. why can't the Feds?
Mark Connar posted bail today and is out!! He sold our boat, collected the proceeds, didn't pay off our loan and now our insurance is saying "infidelity clause" will likely get our claim denied. I am so angry now!
Looked at a boat from them last year. Glad I didn't buy. They were using the name 'Suncoast Marine'. There's another Suncoast Marine in Largo. (They were there first) His legal troubles are probably going severely increase because the owners of the real Suncoast Marine were after him about the name issue. I thought I was calling the Suncoast (Mark) when I was actually calling the real Suncoast and they gave me the lowdown on this guy. Although I looked at the boat, I stayed away. Bad juju!!!
biosperes, really sorry for your loss, it is unbelievable these guys got away with this for so long, they were so obvious and there was a clear paperwork trail. There are reports all over the internet just Google Suncoast Marine Ripoff.
I assume there was no way your insurance covered your loss. In this world its not safe to trust anyone. I didn't even deal with these guys so they came right into my yard and took my boat.
this is part of a Int'l ring of smugglers and not just of boats...the group has been accused of autos, drugs and boats...have tracked down 1/2 dozen in this group...all need to be rounded up as accessories..complained years ago to police, sheriffs, coast guard,Homeland Security, FBI, Interpol,ICE...lost our boat..and what did anybody do ..absolutely nothing..and they did not get to the ringleader yet...great police work...waste of taxpayers money ..and we are out lawyers fees and a 30K boat..
You are so full of crap it must taste bad. One guy is already released and only the owner is in the tank. So far, it seems like his wife turned him in.
Drugs? Did someone fool the police here, or do you know better with your secret bat cave intelligence network?
All of these "stolen boats" and nobody can afford a gorilla guard for their hitch?
Some insurance companies better have another look at this whole situation.

Could of avoided this if you had a $20 tongue lock... LOL
Its a 2" or a 2 5/16 ball that goes into your trailer and expands as you turn the key.
Also heavy duty chain from one tire rim to another tire rim would stop wheels
from rotating.
