Federal states an electric car can only go 25mph and must stay on roads with a stated speed of 35mph. So unless they change the law then no one can drive one at any long distance without breaking the law. How many roads do you know of go 65 miles with a speed limit of 35mph?
Why is it we can not get around all the batteries? by maybe using a generator on all four wheels.. and power one large deep cell battery as you go . Or maybe use a generator plus a step up voltage transformer that runs off a second belt drive to power a 100 / 200 Hp AC motor with a counter weight flyweight system mounted on a centrifugal clutch.
the problem with this piece of shit is that a gas car is cheaper and its to far gone people wont pay 10 grand for a car that has a battery that will wear down with a range of only 50 k give me a break
Forget electric cars, the horse will be the wave of the future... lol
Ever wonder if you could do something with the grass on the roadside? Well, if you have a horse it's free fuel! Plus, horse poo is biodegradable with no smog!
Only trouble is you'll need to find a place to store the feed bucket so he'll have something to eat when you park at the mall.
They could make an entirely electric car that could make a corvette look like a go-cart, I think. :)
NEV's - Neighborhood Electric Vehicles - free up street and parking space (helping reduce collisions) and could serve a HUGE Market segment...since MOST trips are local.
Slower speeds ARE safer, and reduce wear on roadways. You still have a choice, so please stop getting in the way of good nuche solutions. This _niche_ is MAJOR. UPS is already using Zap Trucks.
look at phoenix motorcars. wayyy more efficient. actually goes 100mph and does more than 100miles to the charge. and less than 50k for a nice truck or SUV. all electric
ZZZ why di I care its a golf cart put some hors on it and cowskin seatcovers .. why do all evs look like a modern pregnant chevette .. Make it look like an elise or eco speedster and give people 700 options ...make money on the zebra seat covers or the car wraps
The best so far is the Tesla Roadster. Any takers? Way too expensive I know, but at least it has a credible range and speed, and charging time. Looking forward to their saloon/sedan when they get it developed.
And the Fisker hybrid is, apparently, a rip off of the tech developed by Tesla designers.
Were our American company, Dodge, Ford and GM when are they going to start doing these type of cars? FUCK YOU GM, they killed the EV-1 fully Electric Car for fucken shitty trucks, Hummers and SUV.
detroit didn't kill the ev it killed 1 million jobs related to cars and killed multiple towns and industries all over the mid west .. by not having any forward thinking or vision it ran the industry and millions of americans into dispair .. the trick would be to finish them off and compete the japs out of the market just like they've done to us . use legislation and unfair advantages to us owned and opperated firms and fight our way back to first place ...Japan isn;t buying anything we make
I live in a small Central Valley town in California. Very typical. DRiving a car that only goes 25 mph in my town would have stacks of anxiety-filled motorists on my rear bumper praying and scheming for my immediate death. 25 MPH doesn't cut it.
I once owned a 1915 Detroit Electric. It went almost as fast and it would run much farther per charge. And it still had its original Edison batteries.
Why is it so hard for these guys to create a PRACTICAL electric car? Come on, GM did it with the EV1. They gave us a car with good range, a normal top speed (not 25 miles per hour!), and it looked like a car.. not a matchbox toy. I'm glad these guys are trying, but they need to try a little harder.
All these companies are trying to exploit loop holes in road regs that allow these things on the road with lower safety standards that regular cars. It's debatable if these 'low speed' cars and other 3 wheelers which are legally motorbikes are the product of restrictive trade, excessive red tape or they should just build a proper crashed tested car instead of a plastic shopping trolley!
electric cars are soo good that car campanys don't wan them ,they need to sell the car to you and continue making money in parts every year ,+ oil companys don't wan them nither and we all know the reason.
I like the idea of electric cars but I would feel like a tool driving this. Unless I am a tool but don't realize it, and this is in fact the ideal car for me...
More like a golf cart with doors. Why does it use standard lead sulfur batteries? Lithium Ion Batteries would charge faster, provide better range and power.

vet bills are expensive and you need a pasture to retire the horse in its late years.
tutumaShell 2 years ago
@tutumaShell why retire the horse? they eat horse steak in france :)
cafeespresso99 1 year ago
@HunterXray. horse constantly emits co2 one and occasionally methane the other. with an engine at least you can switch it off then no emissions.
