  • un-fucking-believable landing, nice vid!

  • is this a kc-135?

  • The uploader never says it was a "Heavy" landing, but that a "Heavy" (the aicraft class) KC-135A have to land !

  • Excuse me flight attendant? Do you have any spare underwear or chairs.

  • Recorded with a calculator.

  • due to the cirumstaces, Great and smooth landing! :)

  • LIKE A BOSS !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Front gear failure?

  • great job pilot...

hey, i couldn't tell... was the runway foamed?

good vid, thx for the upload p...

    --Mike

  • Talk about butt clincher.

  • so we meet again 240p.....

  • the passengers just rage quit and walked off

  • Nicely handled~

  • it costs 400.000 dollars to land this airplane

  • This was a perfect emergency landing ..nothing "heavy " about it.

  • @747Springbok Heavy is a call sign used in the air force to identify large aircraft.

  • How is this a "heavy" landing? For an emergency landing it looked very smooth, even when the nose slowly lowered to the ground.

  • this is why women should never fly planes...

  • @thatmarinedude575 I disagree. It's why they shouldn't be allowed to work on the landing gear ;) lol

  • @Freeflyer91 haha very true

  • Thats an EARLY KC-135

  • Very well done!

  • Experienced pilot. Very subtle and controlled emergency landing.

  • Where'd the nose gear go?

  • hope you all noticed that the nose wheel was not down.

  • Now THAT is some impressive skill. They kept the nose off the runway quite well until the KC-135 ran out of lift.

  • Just few days ago polish pilot landed a boeing full of people without the landing gear :) you may find it here on youtube :)

  • all the 60 person are dumb

  • Why did the main gear fail?

    ROSS!!!

  • why is this a 'Heavy' landing :/

  • look at those engines, this is clearly an old video.

  • @trechan That and the SAC crest on the side of the aircraft. Ya, I don't think there are an 'A' models left.

  • WATCH THIS GUYS TO SEE A REAL LANDING watch?v=gFOuyeYwHms

  • Oh yeh I would do this if I didn't speak English ßįœžśæłñ...iPads work wonders

  • @pdlip1 yeh I just use Facebook talk just so my teacher gets pissed off

  • It was easily vis that it was a hidrolic malfunction

  • @haloreachsparten117

    English, do you speak it?!

  • Молодцы

  • Comment removed

  • That was some stunning skill on display.

  • why pilot didn't use thrust reverse???

  • @XosrovTheGreat I'm guessing he shut the engines down to reduce risk of fires and make quick evacuation possible

  • great job!

  • And that's why the army sucks!

  • @sqiao12345. Thatd be the Air Force numb nuts.

  • @tomermoderchai Oh shut up, the army sucks more.

  • Nice landing. Where is the foam?

  • Wow he landed that shit like a F-16. textbook....

  • Pilots had to change their pants I bet.

  • that was a great job

  • Tremendos pilotos !

  • Thats going to need some paint!

  • Its obvious that the nose gear is not present... Its also obvious that the crew members are running because they know the Government is now after them for property destruction.

  • no no swheel?

    /

  • that was about as perfect as it could have been!

  • LUCKY

  • where is chuck norris when you need him

  • Fucking brilliant landing there!!! Great pilot.

  • jeez this is why we need to pay taxes, or else our air force can't buy full landing gear xD

  • Let's buy our military some nose gear

  • pff, budget cuts suck!

  • @periesicsd Budget cuts back when this occured, you mean. And even that's a stretch

  • 0:17 it opened it's eye.

  • this is some fucking good flying right there!! respect nicely saved

  • Whats with the creepy song ?

  • brilliant landing considering the nose gear didnt deploy

  • what pixel is the aircraft.

  • @LfcGoddardENGCJG trust me this is as good as the quality gets. I had this on tape.

  • @yoyoyoyoshua I was only joking about lol pilot did a great job.

  • Must be hard on the paint job.

  • Keep in mind that mid-air refueler had a nose gear malfunction, a-la the keeping the nose up as long as possible, then touching it down gently to cause minimal damage.

  • what is the name of the track that is displayed in the backround?

  • @Zer0grinder it sucks, right?

  • A good landing is one where everyone gets out alive. A great landing is when you can re-use the plane.

  • @Jessiegurl77 I say they can re-use the plane...

  • @mayood247 lol it was a Cabin Pressure reference. ;)

  • Awesome emergency landing, he kept the nose off the runway as long as he could which is exactly how to do it. Also a "heavy" aircraft is anything over 255,000 lbs.

  • "heavy" as in a big plane

  • @ZLinerz KC-135 were not heavies until the KC-135/R engine package. This one still has the J58s so therefore it is a large.

  • I somehow find the music spooky... plus the quality of the video lol

  • This is your captain Derp speaking. Were are experiencing some minor derpulance.

  • HOLY SHIT

  • Good thing it wasn't a passenger plane!!!!

  • With no nose gear this pilot did an awesome job

  • that plane was doing what polar bears do haha

  • @joshua12345a polar bears land without a nose gear?

    Shit never seen that man.

    Is it on discovery channel?

  • That was expensive.

  • @ejlister Not as much as you might think.

  • @RyeOnHam Actually, I'm an A&P, and yeah, it's expensive. :)

  • @ejlister

That's nice that you're an A&P, I'm an Airframe mechanic, and it's not that expensive... relatively. Pilot goes back to drinking, we have to spend a few months cleaning up HIS mess.

  • Yo B, that looks like a nose gear failure to me...

  • I know this isn't a common problem, but when it does happen, it seems to usually be the front landing gear. Wouldn't designing a plane with an auxiliary front gear be safer?

  • @priyonjoni Why no 'auxiliary?-Weight, space, weight, cost, complexity, weight. And to top it off, the plane, as you may notice, is actually in good shape. These kinds of landings generally don't mess the plane up very much. Repair bill is pretty small compared to weight, cost, and complexity of a aux. landing gear.

  • @cpovey1 It's just looking at that makes me wonder what it does to the integrity of the airframe. It's always something little and overlooked in a repair that can cause an explosive decompression. Remember the story of the 10 year crack on the Jap Air 747?

  • @priyonjoni WhileI am not an aerospace engineer, my best friend from college is. He is also a pilot. He says that the damage this causes is generally pretty minor. When you think about it, the same loads are being applied to the plane wether a landing gear is used or not.

  • lets guess ALAN Sugra style - YOURE FIRED - CAPTAIN

  • brilliant pilot

  • Dear god when was this recorded?Look at the KC-135's engines...

  • I bet that plane was flying again just three days later.

  • That's NOT a "Heavy" hard landing. That was a textbook and very smooth crash landing. The only thing he could have done more impressive would be to land it at a Hooters parking lot.

  • Very nice emergency landing!

  • task well done is task well done

  • "captain, dont you think having wheels might have been a good idea???"

  • It's just a scratch, throw it in paint barn.

  • is this serious???

  • you know what they say, any crash you walk away from is a good one. damn good job!

  • When something goes very wrong in the air, to land that "faulty" way is a complete success. Please don't misunderstand some comments here.

  • I'm not a pilot so don't know the difficult level of that but I was still very very impressed. Good movie.

  • Excellent landing

  • very smooth, pilot did a good job to keep the nose wheel off of the ground long enough. well executed emergency landing

  • That's one way not to do it. Good education. ;) No but seriously, that looked like a smoothly executed emergency landing to me?

  • Get back in the air and those scratches will buff right out

  • Operation nose job is a success

  • now remember kids, traveling by air is the safest way to travel...

  • may need a new paint job....

  • Nice landing but he made the critical error of retracting the landing gear on the ground.

  • @PeaceReleaseMe you do realize he didn't retract the landing gear on the ground, if you notice the forward landing gear never came out, probably some technical problem, all things considered that was a fantastic emergency landing, no errors on the pilots part what so ever

  • That was an exceptional landing... damn good pilot.

  • very good landing

  • KC-135A model... nose gear failure... braking hard caused brake to overheat catching fire... must've been locked up good, since they have manual release in the cockpit and pump to lock it in place... Miss the old "water burners"

  • @R8Rob Hi, E&E guy here, 130's at Pope. Yeah ummmm, the nose gear is up. It's not a break fire.

  • Good pilot

  • pilot: houston, we have no front landing gear

houston: ..... well just wing it, im sure u'll do just fine

pilot: better get your cameras out, this is goin on youtube

  • Looks like the main landing gear tires got on fire

  • this is no heavy hard landing....this is partial gear up landing....its official name

  • Good job...

  • front landing gear didnt work prop..

  • Srry those r ally of pilots

  • Wow those d

  • another happy landing!!!

  • A little sand paper and some paint and she'll be good to go.

  • @e081194eng Plus some 3 in 1 oil and some gauze pads

  • @crissy214 And don't forget the bondo and some rubbing alcohol...

  • woooow big fella

  • When I used to work on airplanes, there were "a few" times when the cause of a failed landing gear extension was because of a retreaded tire that was slightly too big and it would catch on the wheel well opening. As a precauction, we always did a gear swing (light aircraft) to check clearances..and we did find a few that were too big.

  • before landing

    pilot1: i think i forget something

    pilot2: wath do you think

    after landing

    pilot2: nevermind i think i know

  • They at least landed it and stopped it

  • In soviet russia... :D

  • Operation fucking fail is a success

  • @TheThruster24 how does this comment get 41 "likes", that means there were at least 42 people not paying attention, just like a majority of others have said, this is an example of a terrific emergency landing, mechanical problems occur and when they do it's up to the pilot to "save the day", so this is the furthest from a fail I've ever seen

  • @lifes2short2waste completely agree - sure there would have been some damage, but no explosions, no (probable) engine damage. Look at how the pilot held the plane after the two middle wheels landed, just superb skills!

  • the tires on fire

    incredible!

  • Great job! with front landing gear not out: fantastic!

  • 1:05 "WOHOO NEW RECORD!"

  • NICE LANDING,MUCH BETHER THAN MY 60 % COMERCIAL FLIGHTS

  • @tztekila Of course....the military gets all the good pilots!

  • @justforever96 i know i work for us.army 6 years from bosnia,iraq,kuwait,afganistan....in bosnia and iraq i work on flight line with airforce guys...and i proud with that and i know theys capatibiles,,,sry of my english..salute

  • @tztekila No need to apologize; you speak English better than I speak any foreign languages. Only Americans think we only need to know only 1 language; everyone else is smart enough to know at least 2!

  • @justforever96 ahhahah i know that rules of americans... exept to everybody speak english..lol

where didi u get this video?to me look like military base.GREATINGS FROM BOSNIA

  • @tztekila In defense of my country, there are many Americans who speak more than one language (and there are many immigrant Mexican-Americans who don't even speak English!). I don't know where the video is filmed; I agree it looks like a military base. I've looked and I can't find any information about this incident at all. There is another video of this same landing, filmed from the air from the cockpit of a fighter jet. Look up "KC135 Hard Landing" on YouTube, the same as I typed it.

  • @justforever96 hahahhaha i know man...but most not speaking because they expect to everybody speak english..and i agree with that because is international laungage...my opinion is that more culture u know u are better man,so for laungage also i mean that..thank man am goona see this video

  • Hey I remember this I was there to watch it. This happen at Edwards AFB CA in 1987. They didn't land heavy they flew in from another base and requested to land at Edwards because the runway is 25,000 feet long plus they have a 46,000 dry lake bed runway where the Space Shuttle lands. They flew in circles over Edwards to burn all their fuel before this landing. The hangar you see in the background at the end was where they kept the secret B-2 bomber before it became public. Great job by the crew!

  • Wow, great pilot!

  • Impressive landing !

  • The real master

  • There is a 'crew entry chute' directly behind the nav station but it would not be accessible with the airplane on its nose. There are also emergency exits (the sliding side windows (l & r side) that can be used for emergency egress, but that would put the crew into the flames. It would take too long to open the main cargo hatch, so the overwing emergency hatches are the next best bet.

  • @farhaantariq - Go fuck yourself!

  • 10/10 to the pilot!

  • Superbly done!

  • I think snl did a skit a long time ago showing this landing and then showed the pilots getting off and their feet were smoking!!!ha lol

  • dont u guys think there must be tube emergency exit to save times????

it took long time till they get down after searching for way to down

  • i would absoluetly shit myself lol

  • nice pilot...

  • Look at the brakes, they are on fire damn!!

  • Heavy refers to wake turbulance category. Informs ATC & other aircraft to watch out for wake turbulance following a "Heavy" aircraft. Don't even think a 707 falls in this category. 747, 777, An224 etc...

  • So join the U.S Air force today! We need U!

You can fly our dangerous defective equipment... and die.

  • "Hand crank" the nose gear down? Sorry, the gear on the KC135 (that's what this aircraft is) is hydraulically actuated, and there is no "hand crank" for it. There are provisions for emergency gear extensions, but sometimes even those don't work.

  • @ExTexan68 Sorry buddy ther is a hand crank on the A models been there done it at Edwards 1965 we lost both hyd systems cranked gear down and locked still here ..
