The army somewhat cracked down on eBay sales of them. You can get them but they're like $65/12 shipped. So they're more of a novelty than anything else.
They were Red Cross or National Guard or some such issue during the relief effort. My older sister was in Hattiesburg MS during Katrina, and worked at a shelter, so that's how she came by them. I wasn't even aware that MREs had 'brands". Haven't a clue who actually made it.
That sounds a lot easier than what I did. :) And yeah, I was trying to keep it clean; an editorial cartoonist once linked to one of my videos with a language warning on his blog. :) I will cuss like a sailor if I'm not careful.
to heat the entree you take it out of the box and put the food item in the heater bag and then place the heater bag ( with the entree in it) back in to the cardboard box that the entree came in.
Thanks! Yeah, I EVENTUALLY figured that out. :) That would have been MUCH easier, because I could have waited to pour the water in until AFTER I had the entree in the sleeve.
There's a reason I tagged this video "stupid civilian" :)
The MRE's were post-Katrina charity, we were given them barely after the winds and rain stopped. It was great to have them. But in the time since then, we evidently forgot how to use them.
Little brother is goofy, but that's all the time. Hope you get a kick out of our cluelessness.
Why do people have to throw the items in the MRE around? You are about to eat it!I hate opening up a pop-tart and it falling apart on me.
