  • personally Asians are NOT cute!

  • 目がつり目やね

  • Do you realize that Yuna Kim's PCS was essentially around the same mark with the #11 man (Michal Brezina) at the Olympics? Yuna's PCS was 71.50 and Plushenko's and Lysacek's PCS were 82.80. What evidence do I have? I'm looking, right now, at the judge's marks for the 2010 Olympics on both men's and women's sides.

  • she's so cute i like her accent :D

  • She deserved the bronze medal at the Olympics. But didn't have as competitive program as Asada so not silver. I think there was video posted up on how there was mysterious minute before Nagasu's mark was handed in. The judge were definitely playing around with the numbers so Rochette can win the Bronze. Vanc. Olym. was horrible competition, but still, I was impressed with most of the skaters :). and she's one of them. good luck Nagasu!

  • @yi81 Do you even understand how the scoring works? I just looked at the judges scores for both performances and Joannie blew her away in the Program Components 68.50 vs. 60.50 (rounded). Joannie also had a higher base value for her technical marks but did worse than Mirai 62.80 vs. 65.80. Mirai needs to work on her Program Component scores.

  • @Vihzel

PCS were totally messed up. You can't depend on that. Even Kim got higher PCS than the MALE gold/silver medalists. How could female skaters get higher PCS while they have shorter performing time? PCS is more like "career mark" since older senior skaters seem to get higher PCS than the younger senior skaters . Plus, Rochette had "home-country advantage," & Kim used that too (practiced in CAN before Oly & she quickly fired her CAN coach/moved away from CAN after Vanc).

  • @yi81 Small correction... Yuna's was 71.76.

  • @yi81 You must be quite stupid to believe that there was a "home advantage" at the Olympics. Do you think Laura Lepisto, from Finland, had a home advantage as well and that resulted in +2 more PCS than Mirai? Please stop embarrassing yourself and Mirai by insinuating that there was controversy over her scoring that the international judges (only 1 is from Canada) purposely put her in 4th place.

  • @yi81 I have also checked her some other results from Mirai's FS and she seems to be right around the 60 PCS range. What she needs to do to increase her PCS is unknown to me since I'm not an expert in that area but unless there's some international conspiracy to not allow Mirai to get a higher PCS score... I'm not buying your argument.

  • Nagasu is a player wanting it in Japan. However, please work hard in the United States, and dedicate the medal to the United States. The Japanese also presents the rooting.

  • cute girl...................

  • i saw her at the figure skating championships in taipei recently, she came in third place

  • Hay I am Donald and i am 13 and i am going to be entering a contest in bridge port but it is not on TV or anything but i still will have a lot of fun and this video really made me really eager to enter so i liked this video!

  • go Mirai, Mao , and Joannie !!

  • 1:41 is so beautiful that it brought me back 9 months later. ^^

  • she deserved bronze. but, noooo... they had to chose the person that mom's died. so what????? Mirai did better. but go YUNA!!!

  • She has this rhythmic way of talking that I find very soothing.

  • I love how people say she should have won the bronze but she fell the first night of competition, she would have needed a whoping score to overtake rochette

yes she was underscored, but didnt deserve the score needed to take third place

  • @kyle887923

Rochette shouldn't have had such a big score to begin with.

  • @PubliusAfricanus her mom shouldn't have died in the first place; don't get me wrong, i am not trying to defend rochett because she's such a big ass skater. what i mean is: she was in a unfair position to begin with

  • @magictheG8

That's the problem with sports that rely on abstract scoring - they quickly become nothing more than popularity contests. Everyone felt bad for Joannie, so they gave her bronze. Athletes like Mirai must wonder why they even bother. If you don't have enough drama, or aren't The Chosen One like the vastly overrated Yu-Na, you won't medal.

  • @kyle887923 Mirai DIDN'T fall at the Olympics. PERIOD! What competition were you watching, or is that selective memory kicking in?

  • yeah!! thats my town!! went to her sushi restaurant and saw her mom and shes is sooooo nice!

  • @courtneysk8s jealous? she's an awesome athlete. you should be happy for instead of hating. it makes you look lame.

  • the spin @1:42 is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

Even now I tear up. ^^

  • GO MIRAI!!!

  • Watch out for Mirai in Sochi, Russia in 2014!

  • @jisaw80

    I think you are NOT mirai-fan :p

  • @jisaw80 You cant even skate and your talking about Mao? wow..... stupid person.... Mirai has A LOT of potential, but technically, Mao is a better skater... but its Mirai's turn to shine in Sochi 2014!!! GO MIRAI-CHAN!

  • AFTER MAO THIS IS MY FAVORITE SKATER WITH YU NA, but mirai has a plus on personality over yu na

  • I do think that she should have won bronze. I'm not saying she was cheating, but we never know what the judges are looking for. I'm glad the Canadian won bronze. I would have been even happier with her or Rachael Flatt placing in the top three. They are both beautiful skaters, I think that Mirai Nagasu is looser, but Rachael is just very tight with her skating,. It's kinda unexplainable....

  • @JordanAtMsa

    A Loser? u are a loser urself..

  • @JordanAtMsa I mean Looser. Like more flexible. Lol!

  • I think she is very wonderful skater. Her jumping and skating skill are outstanding. Especially her spin was very impressive. Maybe she will be the first priority to be a gold medalist in the following Olympic.

  • loveee mirai.

  • Nagasu is a good skater.

  • 0:10 love the look

  • can we just judge her performances? they are really awesome!

  • she is just awesome! I think that she deserved a medal on the olympics!

  • she should have won bronze ! ro even silver

  • Lillysleftnut makes apallingly rude comments. It's a shame. She must be a beauty queen herself. Let's say she is, but judging other people like that shows her charactor. Contructive critics are acceptable. Shallow comments don't belong in a public venue.

  • @kimyunafigure THINK before u say somethin', if u really are yuna's fan! u just seemed like her anti fan who want to harm her with those of ur thoughtless words.

  • I sorry for everything, sometimes I just get so mad about everything everyone says. The say something like, oh, Kim Yuna bought her medal.

  • smh I swear there are some ignorant people in this world based on the comments...but anyways Mirai is a fabulous skater and she should be proud of herself to get 4th place at 16!!!

  • きれいだ

  • 0:42 pretty :)

  • you know what. she cannot just drop everything and move to japan just to play at the olympics for them. she didn't choose which place she came from, they just put her there because she lives in america.

  • shes an american citizen. she would be betraying AMERICA if she played for japan. she might not even know how to speak japanese. leaver her alone

  • @msbyoung how can you say that! she was born in the us

  • @msbyoung wat a hater --__--;; does that mean that all us skaters should skate for the country that their family originally comes from? thats like saying michelle kwan should skate for hong kong

  • @msbyoung interesting comment but u do realize that if athletes did that, the us would have anyone to represent them....

  • the olympics is about nationality, not heritage. if a chinese woman or a korean man lives in america because their parents sought the best opportunities for them, then they are an american citizen. i'm sure those athletes love america and appreciate what opportunies were given as a result of living in america, and are proud to represent america. same with any other immigration case.

  • exactly and representing US is a lot cooler than japan in my oppinion

  • go back to your choson do NOT pollute US

  • @msbyoung are you also saying that Apolo Ohno should skate for Japan because he is of Japanese descent? Or J.R. Celski should skate for the Philippines because he is of Filipino descent? There are many more, so how would the United States medal without these wonderful people who's parents immigrated to give their children a better life. I believe it is commendable of them, and their children should not be discriminated because of their ethnicity.

  • You are a moron. She did skate for her home country. She's american not japanese.

  • @dsfddsgh HAHAH whoever said that is so dumb

  • Comment removed

  • that red head looks like the chick from the spider man movies

  • she represents my rink's club! :P

  • i love u mirai.. all of us know that u are the real winner in winter olympics..

  • Representing Arcadia woooo :D

  • i love Mirai! i thought she was going to get a bronze medal when her FP finished...

  • I wanted mirai and alissa to make it to the olympics,GOOD OLYMPICS MIRAI GREAT FREE SKATE,MIRAI IS SOOO CUTE!!

  • Mitica:)

  • She's a daughter of one of my home town's local Japanese restaurant owners in Arcadia, CA. I've seen her since she was very little, and the restaurant is filled with her drawings over the walls. Her parents, especially her Mom, is a very nice lady. I'm proud to see her go so far, and hopefull for her to get a gold medal in 2014!

  • @ZUgly1 Yes...I hope she beats what's her name in 2014! I love Mirai!

  • keitketsudaze, Stop groveling, or you will be considered worse than both courtneysk8ts and twiligert123. Leave Mao, Joannie and Yu Na Kim ALONE.

  • Wow that's a little racist. I understand opinions, but that's a little harsh...

  • Keep up the good work, your a joy to watch on ice.

  • 未来さんに一目惚れしましたw

    素敵な笑顔に素晴らしい技術。

    今後が楽しみです。

    She is so cute!

  • ugh i was really hoping that she gets medal... her short program was ok but long program was fantastic. If only she did better on sp then im sure bronze would've been hers. srsly i think canada got bit more points than she should've on lp. well thats just my opinion anyways.

  • I'm sure she will be a medalist on 2014 Olympic.

  • Comment removed

  • she should have got that bronze

the canadian got the sympathy vote

  • Comment removed

  • @bluewhale18 YES!!!! Im canadian, but I think Mirai shouldve won BRONZE!!! Joannie wasnt as good technically!

  • Does she have a boyfriend???

  • I have a question. Is she attractive even from American standards? I am Japanese and find her cute.

  • she is super cute.. I've never seen anybody so pretty like her b4... I hope she wins an Olympic medal in the future...

  • @junpower010

u look like aids on a stick...

  • @teleostomi Yes, very attractive.

  • yeah, from my point of view, she's cute :) but i'm russian, not american. :)

  • it's funny- frank caroll is coach of two american skaters: lysacek and nagasu. Lysacek won the gold in spite of he didn't deserve it, on the other hand nagasu should have won the bronze and she didn't do it. All she needed was famous name and canadian nationality. Good luck mirai!!

  • what? evan didn't deserve the gold?! he did! he worked his ass off. u better not say that plushenko deserved the gold...because he obviously didn't.

i agree though that mirai should've gotten bronze. but i wanted joannie to get bronze too because of what happened with her mother's sudden death and skating the way she did that's amazing. hell top 4 skaters were great! yuna and mao with all the pressure from their country. joannie w/ death of her mother. mirai inexperience.

  • fourth place at 16 is incredibly good!!

She will definetly get a medal in the future^^

I think Mirai deserved more points than she got though...

Also people who think your face decides what nationality you are need to go back to kindergarten. x.x

and anyway Americans shouldnt be complaining... Mirai will get you a medal in the future xP

  • @Soosane

    I agree.

Plus, it's interesting that you said she will earn the US medals in the future since her name means "future".

  • Its a tragic reflection on the state of modern society that a simple interview with an Olympian becomes grounds for racial slanging matches and attempts to assert who is more American than who. What is wrong with you people?! Why this hate? This obsession with one an-others differences? Of course we are different. That's what makes the world interesting. In time you will realize you have far more things in common than you do differences. Grow up, grow out and learn to live.

  • Mirai is sooo cute!! Her smile is just..adorable :) she's gonna be the next yuna kim!!

  • haha, she's cute

also she should have got that bronze

  • With veteran coach Frank Carroll to keep her focused, Mirai Nagasu has a very bright future. She already showed that she can skate under pressure in the 2010 Olympics. She seems to have the type of magnetism that Tara, Michelle, and Sarah had in their prime years. As she refines her skating skills, she should be a major (and probably very popular) U.S. figure skater as we head to the 2014 Olympics.

  • Omg, she is beyond amazing! I love her!

  • the interviewer prolly is australian or some shit like that. mirai is a cutie, i hope she does well the next 4 years.

  • what does the interviewer being australian and mirai being cute have anything to do with each other...?

  • Wow only 16. She is really talented and adorable!

  • I thought it was slightly patronizing when she said 'ganbatte' and 'arigatoo gozaimasu' at the end, considering Mirai's nationality is American.

  • *shrug* Mirai understands, it's not like she was saying words that Mirai was unfamiliar with.

  • Sure, i know that. But she speaks English. Japanese is not her mother tongue. Therefore why would the interview speak to her in something other other than her primary language?...

  • I think Mirai learned Japanese before english......

but whatever, she is an american citizen and speaks fluently in both and probably *is* more comfortable with the english language.

Yeah, perhaps it wasn't a good choice on the interviewer's part, but I don't think it was ill willed or anything :P. Maybe she thought it would be fun.

speaking of which who is that interviewer anyway? Is she a translator or something cuz' the Japanese came relatively naturally from her mouth.

  • yeah there is constantly talk about her japanese being broken... i wouldn't know though :)

  • O.o mirai nationality is japanese. both her parents are japanese. its her citizenship she's american.

  • she has dual citizenship...

  • yes i know but he said considering her heritage is american. i was saying that she's japanese heritage.

  • oh ok, my bad.

  • lol its aite

  • Mirai skated beautifully last night! Hopefully at the next Winter Olympic Games she will be right up there on the podium.

  • she should deserve more media attention.

i mean, 4th place!? beating Miki Ando and the other competitiors!?

why does u.s. media never honor new American hero?

i almost thought she would get gold medal after her perfect performance.

  • @afranshiachar i was thrilled to se her last night, specially when she was the last one to skate after "all these monsters" did. I t seemed like she wanted to cry, but her coach encouraged her to go and then she "smiled". The rest was amazing. I think because of politics she missed the bronze or silver. If you notice, the judges took a while to deliberate for the results. So to me she was the real "queen" without the crown

  • Mirais smile makes me happy.

  • Although she didn't win this time, she will probably be the 2014 Oly. champion =)

  • i dunno about champion... but i'm pretty sure she'll get better and better. ... and better

  • will you marry me mirai nagasu..??

  • すごく良かった!

    ソチでは金メダルを!

  • Mirai is the true ice-princess with charisma, congrats to our SGV gal for a job well-done!!

  • 未来さん、4位おめでとう!

    滑りに感動しました

  • Thw word "adorable" was invented for you Mirai!

  • 4th place!!! You go Mirai! She is THE FUTURE!

  • They're all friggin doctors and scientists, geez.

  • who asians? no they're not. they can be athletes.

  • The people on here who are putting down Asians are just jealous because they're all so intelligent. I'm not Asian, but this is a fact. Plus you idiots can't even spell. Pitiful.

  • Asians will inherit the earth

  • Mirai, congrats on your personal best performance.

  • NEWS! NEWS!

I uploaded 2010 mens short program figure skating video of SungChol Ri, but the video doesnt come out in search result.

SungChol Ri, North Korean figure skater was disqualified to go the free skate competition because he ranked 25th among all these players who lost balance while performing.

This is the most amazing unfair judging in Olympic history I have EVER SEEN!

Check it out in my video list.!!

  • @ringes70:

how do you know ? do you live in arcadia ? your just jealous of our high educaion. and arcadia isnt all asian. we have a junior thats in the olympics, Dana middle school just broke a world record, AND our high school band plays at the orange bowl. arcadia has also been voted AGAIN the number one place to raise kids according to either newsweek or businessweek mag. so what dont you shut the fuck up.

  • mirai is from arcadia,ca my hometown ! she used to go to AHS (arcadia high school) but now shes homeschooled. way to represent arcadia !

  • GO MARAI!!! yeuhhhh AHS

  • lol she went to my school but nows shes homeschooled and ive seen her around alot

  • you're fucking ignorant and arrogant!!!!!! thats what you effing are.. you think asians give the USA a bad image???! that makes absolutely no sense.

please tell me.. WHO should represent the USA????

  • I guess Yu Na Kim just put your ignorant argument to bed, didn't she Tiger? You have to feel a little embarrassed right now, don't you?

  • whoa wtf?! azns arent loser in sports! this olympics is proof. in the last warmup for the ladies free skate 4/6 ladies were azn. and many more examples

  • wow you're a real dumbass!! I'm not Asian and not even i agree with your fucking stupid statement!!! Asians are good at figure skating and gymnastics... how could you not know that!?!?!

and it was a rhetorical question...

  • really? you say that when daisuke takahashi is the record holder for the amount of points scored in FS and overall? and when kim yu-na is record holder for all three programs? and the records for pairs are all held by chinese? really? no seriously...

  • Vancouver 2010 is just the start ... this girl is going to get a lot of GOLD medals in the years and olympics to come.

  • you are so right. people need to look out for her !

  • Comment removed

  • mirai goes to our school!!!
