@chrisaalexander Chris if you read the work of Doug Graham you will understand. He advocates against grains, spices, oils, vinegar (acid) amd cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli. He says the cruciferous vegetables are very hard on the digestive system, scraping the lining.
That was a amazingly stupendous job you did there. Congratulations! May I ask how many more minutes did the second and third place finisher, clock in from your finishing time and did they have a specific diet that they were on.
Thanks so much for sharing. You are such amazing living proof that raw vegans and fruitarians can be super health, fit and strong. Me and my raw kids are so thrilled to watch your video. Peace and Love, Chang-yu
You might be the Jack Lalanne of the fruit. Jack was the test to see what fitness would do to you if you kept it up til you die. I know Jack eats a lot of fruit too. Now I have to pose the toughest question you will eventually get to on this site. Read the "Problems with a Strict Vegan Diet" by Dr. Ben Kim . Dr. Kim is not a hack he has tons of good articles on health. If I could get past this article I could go past the 50% fruit I am at now.
@pirucreek : Hey. The only article on Ben Kim's site I could find was written by Chet Day which was last updated on Oct.22, 2002. I read about half the article and skimmed the rest as I've heard most of this before. You'd probably have to ask a few detailed questions about what you're concerned about, as the article covered many things, and in an extremely general way, I must say, none convincing to me at all. Other than the old B12 issue, I didn't see any specific deficiency claims .. (cont'd)
@pirucreek: He states generally that he believes vegan diets don't work based on 10 years of correspondence with those who were unsuccessful. Not all vegan diets are approached healthfully (chips, coke and french fries are vegan) and a lot choose to imitate the SAD in a vegan way. All of the symptoms he lists are even moreso complained about from eaters of the SAD. From what I know, when Mr. Day attempted his version of a raw vegan diet, it was high in fat and not the way proposed by 811ers.
What was the name of the book that you mentioned in your post marathon speech.

Great Job!
Tell me, why only "some" vegetables? Are there some veggies that you do not advocate eating? What about grains like oats etc?
What is your take on simple sugars vs. complex?

@pirucreek the name Kim sounds familiar. I remember his writing being well-produced half-truths.
To get past that, have you read:

Fit for life
Back to Eden
Our primate cousins are herbivores. They do fine because plant-diets are nature's original design.
Jack Lalanne's inspiration at age 16 was Paul Bragg - a long time vegan who lived to 95.

Juiceman. No animal products for 50 + years. He often eats fruitarian. He's now doing well at 90.
Jim Morris 72+
Bode Miller's never eaten meat. He got a gold medal last Olympics.
