  • For those of you who don't like the subtitles; just look at Eddie's beautiful face all the way through.

  • Mother Nature says No u will look the worst you ever did in yr life!

  • This never ceases to cheer me up.

  • Am i the only one that noticed that these subtitles are aimed at deaf or hearing impaired people ?

realy people, things like (voice changes from high to low),(applause) might have clued you in on this, ofcourse that whould imply that most of you spend more time thinking about something then you spend time ranting about it,and lets be honnest here ,this is youtube...not the harvard debate team

  • @Battusai1984 YES. Thank you. As a completely deaf woman, this 'captioned' vid was a rare and pleasurable treat, especially with the added nuances of tone and squeaky-voice changes.

  • I don't understand, What is the point of subtitles for a man who speaks English, and is English?

half the joke is keeping up with the tone of how he talks, if you are reading it, you won't be laughing as the joke was intended to provide.

  • @mohab18 Obviously you didn't notice that the issue has been dealt with in the comments. Several reasons which can increase your understanding of the 'subtitle' issue are mentioned.

  • @mohab18 Here's a crazy idea....deaf people?

  • @mohab18 Two words: "British accent".

  • "Ah the curve of the spoon, the curve of your breast ..." xD I have to remember this

  • I seem to have the plague

  • God, so right about puberty!

  • @ShintaLePuppy

I was actually 12 the 1st time, and yeah, she started it, not I. Anyway, yes I did shag more than one girl at the age of 13 although, don't tell my wife that xD

  • Hello Sue!

  • you ever notice how he's always talking about scramble... it must be his favorite game or something.

  • @ascarletmoon17 erm, it's SCRABBLE, not "scramble". pointing that out.

  • Susan, i saw you in class today, as the sun shone with a brilliant light that caught your hair. It was haloed. You turned, and your eyes flashed fire into my soul. I immediately read the words of Doestoevsky and Karl Marx, and in the words of Albert Schweitzer, I fancy you.

  • i want him to do my make up :)

  • "I got to go, my grandmothers on fire and....um......."........... I love this one!!!!! Lol, my friend started telling me about him and I came home and fell in love with his videos!!!!!!

  • I'm dying. I'm literally dying!! I love him so much he's hilarious

  • "I like my coffe hot and strong. Like I like my women: hot and strong. With a spoon in them." LOL!

  • @TobiShinobii racism is nothing to Joke about

  • Subtitles are usually for the deaf and hearing impaired, or extremely handy for people for who English isn't their native language.

  • I'm glad I don't actually watch these, because I understand that accent they have at Britland, and only like it when it's a different language I don't know for subtitles.

  • @clamhoppers It's okay if you don't watch the subtitles. As you might or might not be aware having subtitles for 'foreign' movies is a major advantage compared to synchronisation of all voices in a native language.

A lot of countries synchonize voices by local voice actors. We in the Netherlands subtitle. That way the original movie material is not raped. (Especially of course on dvd when you can enable/disable subtitles.

  • @razorblatter I had a sudden thought of Eddie's voice being overdubbed by an American. :P I dunno, uh... Alec Baldwin, or something?

  • @VoiceofCthulhu I don't know. Why not go all the way and hire Schwarzenegger ? ;-) Still I'm not sure if the result would be satisfying and not be a cause fot heated debate.

No I don't like synchronised audio. Subtitling rulezzz !

But feel free to endeavor a synchronised version using your own voice. On your own channel... ;-)

  • @razorblatter Subtitles FTW!! its how the do it here (Australia)... believe it is better for you

  • @razorblatter i agree. i learned 90% of my english from tv - watching (mostly american) movies, and synchronised movies are still very off-putting to me. so, apart from what you already said, there's another advantage of subtitling.

  • @clamhoppers that "accent" in "Britland" is how you pronounce the words...

  • @clamhoppers Britain, not Britland.

  • @clamhoppers I am forever going to call Britain Britland ;D

  • @clamhoppers do tell me about this Britland..sound fantasic.

  • @clamhoppers lol Britland? never heard it called that before :L

  • @clamhoppers Which one? We have hundreds of accents, some including regional and/or county dialect. I'm the same with subtitles, I prefer them to dubbing. Although also, if there's something done in English originally, I will sometimes find subs of a different language to run alongside to try and learn something extra.

  • Thank you sooooo much for the subtitles!! You made my day!!! :)

  • @dulmmv Thank you ! It's my pleasure.

  • i <3 u Eddie....even if u ARE BRITTISH!

  • I don't care what he wears .... he's fuckin' hilarious!!! "with the fuckin matches"

  • is he transgender or just a cross dresser?

  • @imcoolnow - I would say neither. It's an act.

But (s)he does look lovely in that froc which brilliantly matches his delicate eye-shadow! :Y

  • @razorblatter Its not an act. He's cross dresser, theres another clip where he talks a great deal about being a transvestite.

  • @razorblatter Actually you are wrong. He is a "straight transvestite" or as he says "a male lesbian" :). He says he isn't gay but like to wears womens' clothes on AND off stage. He also says "Women can wear whatever they want and so do I".

He wears what he feels comfortable in.

  • Okay, cross dresser or transvestite he is and as straight as an arrow !

Thank you for correcting me, otacon23 and MissWeltzer !

  • @razorblatter wait wait wait wait wait...........arrows are straight?? XD That's a first for me... :) hehe

  • @imcoolnow he's an executive transvestite, according to himself :) hehe so yeah he's a cross dresser - he still likes women, if that's what you mean

  • @cold197 ya i was wondering if he had a sex change or just liked to dress like this. thanks.

  • @imcoolnow anytime :)

  • @imcoolnow also if you watch the video, he says he likes girls and is a transvestite, or were you just not sure?

  • @cold197 i guess i wasnt sure if transvestite ment you were a crossdresser or if you had had a sex change

  • Comment removed

  • @imcoolnow He describes himself as a "lesbian trapped in a man's body". He fancies women, and wears any clothes he likes. Women can wear men's or women's clothes, so why can't men wear both?

  • .....................

  • Well............ Fantastico :P fuckin shit i love this guy

  • ... It sounded better when he did it in French...

  • You guys were fucking around at 13?

    That's what's wrong with America.

    I'ma dude, lost mine at 17, wish I hadn't.

    Idiots.

  • @OneTrueWilson Ummm...Eddie Izzard is English...not American

  • razorblatter, first off, I LOVE this video, thanks so much for uploading it! :) And also, your other Eddie Izzard material is hilarious too! And also, what WAS your first language?

  • @savasahottie5 I'm Dutch, so I'm from the Netherlands, you know... Holland, near Denmark.

  • @razorblatter that's not near Denmark. That's near Niedersachsen!

  • *hits girl with bread* *runs away* i love youuuu

  • I love this guy!

  • I was banging girls at 13-.-

  • @phsycoblah No you weren't.

  • So yeh

  • "In the words of Albert Schweitzer, I fancy you." is probably the best pick-up line I've ever heard.

  • @Woodthorn lmao yeah im a 14 year old girl and tht would probably work =)

  • I got legs!

  • what a genious !

  • @CoolKillerClan

Because, you ignorent piece of crap, not everybody speaks English that easily and subtitles can be convenient.

Obviously it's harder for you because you are having trouble spelling...

  • @razorblatter I agree with the sentiment, but I have to point out the irony inherent in you denigrating a person for misspelling... while misspelling a word in the same sentence.

  • @talanhawke

    Yeah, that's the tragic fate ! ;-)

But, of course, my mother tongue is not English so I have a licence to misspell 'ignorant'.

  • @CoolKillerClan how is it racist?

  • @CoolKillerClan Eh? How is it racist?

  • @CoolKillerClan In addition to English not being everyone's first language, sometimes it's difficult to understand a strong accent. Then you have people who are deaf or hard of hearing. If you can't handle it, then you've got bigger problems.

  • @CoolKillerClan Subtitles are racist?

  • @CoolKillerClan Because people who are deaf like comedy, too, you insufferable twit.

  • @CoolKillerClan For people who are deaf and can't read his lips off the video. Fuckhead.

  • @CoolKillerClan

Have you ever considered that the subtitles might be for someone who is deaf or hearing impaired?

  • 'i fancy yooooooouuu.' fell in love with him just right then.

  • 'Ello Sue! ...I've got, legs.

So er, do you like bread?

    I've gota french loaf!

    *BOOM*

    Bye!...I love you:)

  • I've got a french loaf!

    *boom*

    byyyyye...I LOVE YOU!

  • do you like. . .

    BREAD?

  • It's not guns that kill people.. it's just that sudden noise they make

  • @LauraMadlyInLove which is bad for your heart

  • he said a word we don't understand.

and he won at scrabble with it.

that would give you a lotta points.
