  • fuck sammy hagard van halen is back with roth

  • looks like the video was compressed to fit a floppy disk...

  • nerf

  • if ur a rednek n shoot your lill girl in the face with a nurf gun the nurf hurder

  • @araphattv That isn´t even a sentence.

  • filmed it a used condom... this band is rad

  • your right sammy hagar is a douche bag

David lee roth is my favorite singer

  • daria soundtrack approved (p.s. Mario can go suck a dick)

  • The guy is wearing a 'Balance' shirt, weird considering all the Hagar hate. DLR - Better singer. Hagar - Better records. Bring on the thumbs down =(

  • @ThePeakIsNeverPassed "One thumbs down.... coming up!"

  • Right now, Nerf Herder is playing their world tour.

  • OMG, I love this song, but' I'm a sucker for "Nerd Rock". Plus you gotta love the name of the band.....but I'm also a sucker for Star Wars referances too...lol

  • @ChipperofWood lol thanks no harm no foul

  • @ChipperofWood FUCK SAMMY HAGAR AND FUCK YOU TO BUDDY

  • Awesome! A new Weezer video I never saw!!!

  • i used to own this... i miss this

  • omg i heard this on the radio and this was BEAST!!! I LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • Wonderful! Insperational!

  • I love this song.!

  • wtf? this isnt eddie van halen, dissapointed

  • I wonder if they're gonna get the new album when it comes out.

  • witty comment relating to the number of dislikes and subject of song

  • the album we wished weezer would put out now.

  • 27 people are stupid fools

  • I like the Right Now music video references

  • Right Now. I am living in a time warp (listening to 90's music)

  • Who cares who they sound like, those guys rock! I don't see how Green Day sold some 60 mio records, Weezer 20 mio, and those dudes can hardly make a living from it (it seems). In my opinion these geeks should be millionaires.

  • @Zappldappl The world like Green Day a whole lot more, thats how. Quit bitching.

  • Love the facepalm at 2:18

  • I wouldn't call it a weezer rip-off, but whenever a newer sound is made big by a band, in this case weezer... you always get tons of mediocre bands with one good song getting more airplay then they ever would have because now its the new cool thing. Forgetable bands with one hit is all half of them are. This is a decent song, but overall the band is just meh. weak pop music thats gone as fast as it came.

  • @Iawyn it happens in every genre, not just indie 90's rock obviously...

  • Fucking EPIC

  • Anyone who thinks this band is a Weezer ripoff obviously has no idea what power-pop is.

If Nerf Herder is a Weezer ripoff, so is Ash, early Fountains of Wayne, Letters To Cleo, etc.

  • How are you saying they're a weezer rip off people. That's just ridiculous, for one thing they are bound to sound similar, due to them both coming out around the same time. Perry's vocal stylings differ greatly from River's though, and the music is a little more blink 182ish than weezerish....

  • Yea, this band is a weezer rip off... which is good, so haters... fuk off nobody cares what u think. honestly

  • Dude, no matter what anyone says... 5150 is a fucking amazing album, and Eddie's songwriting became much more melodic and deep after the split with Roth (except for Van Halen III, only song I liked on there is Neworld... Because there's no singing lol). You can't compare to the raw power of the original lineup, but I like the Sammy stuff equally as much as the Roth stuff. Big difference between the two is Dave couldn't do shit without Eddie... His solo albums sucked donkey nuts.

  • The guy is wearing a t-shirt for the Balance album. That is a hardcore fan. Gary Cherrone was the lead singer on that one.

  • @chasebizzy Wrong. Sammy Hagar sang lead on Balance. If he was a true hardcore fan, as you put it, the t-shirt would have been for VH III. It was Van Halen 3 that Cherone was on.......and yes, that one was truly awful.

  • @john0763 Just because I have a keyboard in front of me doesn't mean I have to type on it. Thanks for the correction guys.

  • @chasebizzy no sammy was the singer in that one. the only album to feature gary cherrone was van halen 3.

  • Best Record.

  • @yargnitstingray It makes sense if the band is addressing Eddie Van Halen... Is this what Eddie wanted? Sammy Hagar?

  • The line in the song about being what Hagar wanted makes no sense. It's what Dave wanted, at least until he had to resort to being a Vegas lounge act for money.

  • @yargnitstingray does anyone know anything about these two bands? Any common ground ? Similar members. Nevermind

  • Yay let's sound like weezer so mtv will play our video. The 90's were nothing but trends, that's what killed music.

  • @skullvomit666 lol. Your comment could possibly be one of the dumbest things i've read on the internet. The 90's were nothing but trends?! The 60's you had the Beatles and all their wannabe's, surf rock, psychedelic music. 70's you had arena rock, disco, punk rock. 80's you had glam rock, new wave.

C'mon. Its music. Every generation has their own sound.

  • @skullvomit666 they may sound a little like weezer, but since when is that a bad thing?

  • Well yeah it was a sad day when Roth LEFT. So why does Sammy get flamed for stepping in and helping out? There's just as many good Van Halen songs with Sammy in too. Many more then these WEEZER wannabes will ever have. Most of the old bands are going away just because their time is over, not because they suck. I pay respect to all of them, for giving me the music that brings back great memories of my childhood and making the music that you cranked up to clear your mind and go on. Thank you Sammy!

  • Haha- I frickin remember that "Right Now" video...

"Right now, somewhere, Sammy Hagar is still sucking."

"Right now, Nerfherder is rocking in nerd obscurity."

  • this song is awsome, been a long time since i last saw it

  • The 90's had the best music of any decade ever.

  • Slap an H on the lead singer's forehead and he'd look almost exactly like Arnold Rimmer.

  • Sammy Hagar made 25 alternate accounts and disliked this video

  • @RecklessDUSTIN Wrong! Sammy Hager made 20 accounts, Gary Cherone made 5 accounts

  • i saw them open FOR weezer AT rockafellas on the blue album tour, you know weezers first album when the "Rentals" matt sharpe was still in the band. these 2 bands could not have have been better for each other to play off of. oh yaeh , "they did the theme song for buffy T Vamp Slayer, he said sarcastically. they rock so hard live. all thier albums are great!!!!!!! listen to "leather jacket"

  • i wish see in full hd

  • OMG IM LAUGHING SO FUCKIN HARD RIGHT NOW, THIS IS AWESOME!

  • A geek rock salute to the real Van Halen (not Van Hagar). Awesome. I think I just found another band to crack my top 10 list.

  • they remind me like blink 182 in a part of a song

    i mean video

  • "You MY Nerf Herder!" - Stan Smith

  • Way to be original Nerf Herder, bashing Sammy like everyone else.

  • Wow you guys, really put to much thought into the balance t-shirt being a goof.. I just thought it was used as a device to show the guy was sick that he had sold out to van hagar, that he was trying not to be a fair weather fan. Think about it " tomorrow may come, tomorrow may never come"... Maybe he's thinking they would reunite and wouldn't abandon them.

  • I agree, Nerf Herder is like Weezer if Weezer could make me laugh

  • Takes me back to my high school days! I havent heard this band in years!

  • They played this yesterday while i was at the dentist. :P

  • i remember rock out to this song when i was in elementary school. i am 24 now and it still kicks ass!

  • parry gripps solo stuff sucks.

  • Nice!!

  • i always think that parry gripp kinda looks like the actor that played freddy kruger...

  • @emogoth22 O.o OMG he does!

  • The song and band are so much like Weezer. everything about them just kinda reminds me of Weezer, especially because this song's verse is identical to the the verse of the Sweater Song.

  • @TheJimAndBob My youtube randomly switched to this song after the last video ended. Wow, is it a rip-off of a lot of things.

  • Regardless of where you fall on the hagar/roth debate, this song is genius.

  • Parry Gripp!!! O.o

  • The dude in the bedroom is wearing a balance tshirt - and the video references right here right now images - but still enjoyable nonetheless! ROTH forever!

  • i miss nerf herder

  • great video good job......

  • lol at the kid wearing a Balance Tour shirt. Balance was with Sammy Hagar.

  • Where those cheesy captions in the original version of the video? I don't remember them but also that was like 15 years ago.

  • I believe this song is a metaphor for the opposition to the policies of President Andrew Jackson and the Democratic Party in 1833 through 1836 by the Whig Political party. It's glaringly obvious, actually.

  • kinda gay

  • So they rip on the Hagar years but copy the video off of a Van Hagar song (Right Now) and the kid wears a Van Hagar t-shirt (Balance). Whatever....

  • this clip movie remind me first date by blink 182

  • Ganja make it alright!! Legalize it. Check out "Take A Toke~EXIT"

  • For those of us who were actually alive in the 90's, it was cool for 90's alternative/grunge/geek bands to make fun of 80's hair bands. After all, grunge killed hair bands in the early 90's (with the advent of the Seattle bands like Nirvana). I was in high school during this 90's period, but I always liked 80's music better. God, I remember all the flannel and baggy jeans people wore. Ugly.

  • Take off that t-shirt before you jinx the band and they break up!

  • @AltRockAddict The Wedding Singer! Don't you talk to Billy Idol that way!

  • pandilla de ñoños

  • Is this the same band that dd the My Kapowski song????

  • G A Y

  • lol i can not get that verse is this what you wanted sammy hagar sammy hager is this what you wanted man out of my head

  • Is this what you wanted...Sammy HAGAR!

  • one of the best punk rock bands ever!

  • @somemetalguy

    Agreed.... And Fun!!!!

  • Weak... funny, though - making a statement about VH being a bygone, and yet compare how much of the world listens to this band vs VH today. Nerf who? is mostly what you'll hear. VH is pretty much the Beatles of guitar-rock - they'll never disappear :)

  • @fretworx Wow its amazing how much you have missed the point of the song. This song is about how VH fans dealt with the issues the band had. Nerf Herder is in no way trying to say they are more popular than Van Halen. I dont know how you got that from this song. Of course they know that they will never be more popular than legends like VH.

  • Thx, man - I bet you're right. I probably jumped to conclusions... Bands of that era, particularly these types, pissed on 80's bands so often that I thought that's what they were doing here. Either way, I like their sense of humor, but good riddance to whining 90's! :-)

  • @fretworx Yes many bands of the 90s did bash 80s rock bands. Not that I dislike all 90s music but much of it did suck. Nerf Herder I do like because of their humor. But I really cant favor 80s music over 90s as both decades produced some really good music and some really shitty music.

  • @IronManOfficialguy Thats any decade (produced some really good music and some really shitty music).

  • what a whining voice!

  • its pop-punk, whiny voices are required. only exception to that rule that i'm aware of is Sum41, and they didnt last long at all.

  • wait, did you say Sum41 didnt last long at all? or this band? Sum41 is still going strong. Releasing their greatest hits album sometime in 2010.

  • Greatist Hits albums dont count. as everyone makes them (even no-talent acts like Vanilla Ice). that aside, even if they kept putting out albums, they haven't stayed relevant for that much time.

  • Good song, toungue in cheek. Sammy does his best work OUTSIDE VH. Props to all of them, Cherone included, talented man, just not right for VH.

  • Sammy Hair In The Soap.

  • This song came out in the mid 90s, not really anything to do with "this generation."

This is Nerf Herder's love letter to a band they loved growing up. Not supposed to be funny.

  • Did Dave actually lose his hairline?

  • Totally. That dude looks like total turd these days. I guess that's what years of hard livin' will do to a man.

  • they remind me alot of weezer in the way they dress

  • Their music sounds similar to Weezer too. it's AWESOME.

  • @TheCreamfilled

Weezer is a great band that got MTVed.

  • @TheCreamfilled thats exactly what i thought when i first saw them

  • @TheCreamfilled i had never thought about it, but they are very similar. both are kind of nerdy, but put out great, good mood music. both are just damn fun to listen to

  • @TheCreamfilled This song sounds a lot like Weezer too. Maybe not vocals but instrument-wise

  • It's a good song. And I'm a hardcore Van Halen fan. Any Van Halen fan that was raised on the original Van Halen can relate to the lyrics. It was a fuckin' sad day when Roth left the band and was replaced with Hagar in April 1985.

  • not for me cause i love sammy alot :p

  • @cvjucla3 im glad Roth came back though! atleast for a tour...

  • @cvjucla3 It was a sad day when Van Halen formed....

  • @bglad4life And I'm sure it was a great day when Wham formed for you.

  • @cvjucla3 no......no it wasn't.

  • @cvjucla3 your so right about that.

  • @cvjucla3 Hagar sucks! He made Van Halen suck!

  • Guilty Pleasure

  • Lay off VH

  • Nerf Herder is cool as hell & put on a great show. I checked them out 2 weeks ago. They make catchy pop rock like no other band. Their music is 100x than NOFX in my opinion. But then again I plain just don't care for that band anyway.

  • LOVE. THIS. SONG.

  • parry gripp

  • "Let it rip"

  • they make a nev album....coming out soon...

    i think they are great...

  • thats a cool garage door.

  • um...always actually

  • are these the same guys who are now going by Def Karaoke Jam??

  • around 1992, they're first album came out in 94

  • that solo is so easy but sounds sick

  • Badass song, I remember hearing this when I was young.

  • so do i, i remember listening to it with my sister. that was the first nerf herder song she heard. she didnt like but i like it.

  • I have a question... If that kid hates Sammy so much, why is he wearing a Balance album T-Shirt?

  • I wondered that,too.Then I read that it was a licensing issue.

  • Lol, After hearing this song after a while, i realized the lead singer is the Hamster on a piano guy.

  • Dude, they say that dave lost his HAIR Line and sammy lost his COOL cause sammy si a loser!

  • wait, wait about diver down?

  • hang em high was a great track on diver down, but Van Halen seem to hate that album.

  • hang em high is possibly my favorite van halen song, it's good to see it get its due.

  • the only reason these dudes rock is cuz they hate gaygar.

  • Funny track.

  • pop

  • wow he has a solo in a song. nice, tapping but nice

  • I remember when this vid came out on MTV, like '94 or '95. I listened to the album all day in highschool...and the preps through me in the trash can for listening to it and having a mohawk...*sigh* best time of my life. These guys rock!

  • fuck nerf herder is awesome

  • Dave&Sammy RULES FOREVER!

  • that seems to be the house of NFG's dressed to kill video

  • Sammy taking over Dave's spot in VH.

It did notmake us VH/DLR-fans happy....

  • can someone tell me what he means when he sings 'is this what you wanted Sammy Hagar'? I dont get it. am i not supposed to get it?

  • He was Van Halen's singer after David Lee Ross.

  • Roth, not Ross lol

  • sorry, I lisped. lol

  • it's alright lol

  • Listen to VHI and then 5150 and take a guess.

  • i dont get the songs plot

  • why would the kid be wearing a Balance shirt if he hates sammy hagar. Plot Hole!

  • i seen them if the Northstar bar in Philly and the place was crazy! this is one of the most underated bands of all time!

  • WHAHAHA I LOVE THIS!! great lyrics and a very funny video with the "Right Now" lines (Y)

  • awsome vh song with dave of course

  • i think its kinda funny how he asks sammy hagar if this is what he wanted. Dave was TEH MASTA. Sammys lovey dovey songs could never match Dave.

  • haha that part ALWAYS makes me laugh out loud. "is this what you wanted, sammy hagar, sammy hagar, is this what you wanted, man?" HAHAHAHAH

  • yeah but i dont really like Sammy but haha im kinda a hipocrite cuz my fav songs are 5150 and best of both worlds but they are both sung by sam...

  • Holy shit my childhood flashing before my eyes. Love Nerf Herder.

  • van halen pwns

  • VAN HALEN THE BEST EVER with ROTH&HAGAR&CHERONE ! KICKASS

  • As a long-time Van Halen fan, us fans are not like that guy on the video. Yes we listen to the songs endlessly, and have the VH goods, but that is to acknowledge the greatest rock band that may never come again for the next year or decades. We still listen to other new songs. But this song didn't do any justice to Van Halen. There wouldn't be any rock band that mixed fun, sex, alcohol, and rock and roll. Seriously, this is a laughing insult.

  • van halen was nowhere near the greatest rock band, probably the most overrated.
