Im thinking of dropping out of school and just becoming a painter. Do you sell your paintings? If so, do you make a decent living? HOw much can you pull a year?
And do you eve have problems with smearing the charcoal or losing your original point of reference like the nose or mouth?
I think i gotta start painting like this because the second day of painting is the hardest for me. I love conceptualizing and sketching but layer after layer day after day just drives me bonkers.
Does anybody have advice on how to oil paint withouth harmful vapors? I paint in my bedroom and it's a royal pain only being able to use walnut oil. I'm probably doing it wrong, but my work is way better when I can use turpentine.
i use to not have the heart to paint over previous paintings, until i learned that several past paintings are usually found under Rembrandt's works. i figured if he could do it, then i could. but beside that, i'm impressed at how amazing your work came out in just one sitting. i need to try and work towards a alla prima method also. i think you have more fun while painting. very impressive.
oh man i wish i could oil paint that good, all mine come out completely texturized because i'm rough or the skin color comes out opaque, i need practice....
i just uploaded a video of an oil painting that took me 5 months to finish.i would like to get some feedback on it. so if everyone that reads this could check it out and let me know what you think it would help me out! the video is called -- monumental oil painting- from start to finish. thanks everyone!
stunning work, wish i could paint as fast as this in one go!

Oh, well, I'm the same as him. If I never painted over my paintings I'd have hundreds of them. Plus, good canvas is pretty expensive

@peoplestink90 I love the act of painting, not the painting itself... but if my kids are strong they survive!

what does he start doing at 2:55? look like he laid a wet layer of burgandy then starts whipping/padding it off with a damp cloth?
lordaki 1 year ago
