Boycott is an utter cunt. His attitude today (after Bell's "dismissal" at Trent Bridge) makes me want to throw up. Amid all the controversy was Boycott droning on, missing the point, and putting his love of criticising batsmen the world over before common sense and the spirit of the game. He really is a crushing bore and I'm sick of hearing his dull, predicable opinions.
@ryko26 shut up u sad ignorant pathetic loser Geoffrey Boycott is a cricket legend with the best insight out of any of the other commentators, while he is certainly opinionated, without him cricket coverage would be ruled by neutrals who don't have the gumption to say what they really think
well, the england selectors pick him up and drop him, he's always playing for his cap, if that pressure isn't enough he doesn't always perform well on tour which weighs on his mind even more, if he had a bit of security he'd still be playing tests, he'd still be averaging 26-28, Freddy, Harmy, Jones and Jimmy, (and Swann) that's my England dream team but Freddies stopped playing tests, Harmy has kicked in 1 dayers and Jones hasn't been the same since he got injured
has the pleasure of being coached by boycott, very much like a really strict history techer who you'd rather not annoy under any circumstances, really nic eman though, but i'd prefer to have a drink with him, than bat with him! lol
Boycott is right as usual - Harmison is a bottler and a waste of space. Shame, because he had a lot of talent (Windies 2004, 1st Ashes test 2005) but he was a homesick crybaby who couldn't hack the pressure, esp. away from home. If he continues playing well in county cricket he could get another shot, but don't hold ur breath.
Btw vicavox, Anderson has improved a lot now, in bowling, batting and fielding, and is now one of England's best players, ready to lead the attack when Freddie retires.
i agree geoff boycott was right to say what he did. steve harmison didn't perform to the best of his ability and going back to county cricket was the right move.
Yeah because Harmsion went back to County Cricket and started putting in the performances there, and finding his rhythm once again, which he wasn't able to do internationally. Harmison having gotten a vast number of games under his belt meant when he came back against the Proteas in the last test in England this year he looked Englands most threatening bowler. Broad is consistent but Anderson's irratic and infuriating, Boycott's right...it's is gladdening to have Steve back.

Replace Broad?
The stats don't agree.
Also - Broad has only just turned 23, he's the future. Harmison says he's retiring from Test cricket after the Ashes.

Boycott sounded pretty annoyed. Perhaps he should have just beaten up his girlfriend instead?
