  • If there are any traumas in areas or parts that don't like to communicate it could indicate that you may have 'stuff' to clean up. Visual Recall (VR) are where all your memories are stored. And that's not a bad thing, we all have past issues to clean up!

  • My eyes seem to really not want to go to the visual recall corner. It makes me feel sick. Could that mean anything?

  • It can be used in the 'field' to know how your clients represent their inner world of realities. If you can understand 'how' a person represents fun, pain, love etc. you can work with that inner world more gracefully and skilfully.

  • how can this be used in the field?

  • So sad that you promote pseudoscience. It was debunked years ago.

  • this just doesn't seem to work :S I will try to practice it with people.

  • She doesnt really go to ac, no. But they eyes do flicker a little bit from time to time. Still, it's a bit dodgy.

  • It's self talk. Sometimes called the labeling system. It's the part of you that can quantify or describe without emotion being involved.

  • i dont understand the auditory digital can someone enlighten me?

  • Yes, that's probably what happened there.....she went up to see if she could see it.

  • with the times table part at about 3:00 she visualizes the numbers in her mind she may not know the 13 times table she looks at the numbers she knows in her mind thats why she looks up correct me if i'm wrong

  • FFD

  • Does anyone know what software to use to create a similar video? Thanks

  • To the comment "we don't create images out of nothing", kind of limits our imagination. Put it this way, we may have an idea of a 'something', yet the construct portion is where you'd go to edit it to make it yours. I've been working with eye patterns for about 14 years now, it's best to try these things out for yourselves and see what results you get.....

  • Now, does anyone realize what these six directions have in common?

For instance, visual construct and visual recall would in fact lead to the same eye responses because a construct very much depends on recall (we don't create images out of nothing).

They also imply an internal dialogue that would unbalance the responses even further.

Pay attention to your conversation partners, you should notice that some are not even playing the eye movement game

  • @reghin79 your comment ius very interesting and it makes me to try to undersand better not only the eye movementes froma different prospective but also the real and effective use of them in thereapy, work, real life, etc. Have any article or website for more information on this specific subject? Txs a lot.

  • Left handedness can be a factor, yet I'm left handed and 'normally' organised! A better 'spot' is which hand do they wear their watch on. If it's the right hand, look our for reversed.

  • Deb

In response to patriot1320 - information from other sites has led me to believe thatthe results are reversed dependant upon whether the subject is left handed or right handed. In response to ERIN478, from personal experience I believe that bi polar subjects are quite erratic in their responses.

  • i have a lot of lectures about nlp but this demonstration inst the most convincing bit of evidence. the problem is its not explained that it depends on how people think.

  • for this to work you need to gain a base line as auditory construct and audio recall can be either side. all you need to do is ask one question each, you can see when she is constructing as she goes to our right. it's somthing similar to why some people prefer using there right hand to there left or vice versa.

  • She mostly looks to the areas that we light up, but remember, this is much easier in real time and without the 'cameras' being on you. It's simply to show how the brain has different areas that are being accessed, and the eyes are simply a clue of what kind of information is being used I.E. Visual remembered, self talk etc.

  • She is not looking to where it's said. Why is that?

  • Do people with autism or Asperger's show different movements than do those without?

  • @ERIN478 there is some information online about autism and eye patterns, yet I have had no personal experience as yet.

  • Yes, you can immediately look in his eyes and say, "here, have the lot"...knowing you have enough confidence to make more money at any time.

  • my question is not related to eye patterns but to NLP in general. if NLP can be used to influence people's thinking, can you use it on someone who is let's say robbing you at gunpoint?

  • I saw her go to audio construct over and over again. I don't know what he's talking about.

  • what exactly is Auditory Digital....is that when you are thinking of numbers?

  • (English is not my first language) ...I think I understand what this 6 identifiers mean except Auditory Digital....I find this very interesting :).. and I´m going to check this out more...Thanks

  • Auditory Digital is self-talk or thinking to yourself. It's often the place you'll do internal calculations also, (which is one reason most people wear a watch on the left hand)

  • @terryelston it's very interesting what you say. Never knew why we a watch on ou rleft hand. Txs for that.

  • @rometube I thought that's because most of us are right handed, where a watch might be an obstruction ...

  • @svanurmg Auditory Internal Dialogue.

  • These people are idiots. These results are tainted. You can NOT tell the person you are conducting the experiment upon that you are conducting an experiment on them! Why? Because:

The nature of the observed changes in the presence of the observer.

The fact that he mentioned he was checking out her eye patterns was enough to bring that sub-conscious behavior to the conscious mind. Now she is TRYING hard to act normal.

    For example:

Try this and see for yourself: I want you to breathe normally.

  • Thank you MR angry for your comments. All of NLP is an experiential and experimental practice. Therefore it's advised YOU try these things out and see what YOU find. NLP is not a religion! Collectively we are all contributing something to life's questions, who are we and HOW do we make life work? Discerning whether you make a comment from your own frustration in life or as a contribution to all of us, is also your own experiment in life. 'Seeing' is not only from the eyes!

  • @terryelston

I just tried these tecniques on random persons using a Videochat at web. You should try it by yourself, usually they work. But I suggest you to not warn you are going to test them.

  • @theonlyyamaman.

Well, I agree, but this shouldn't represent all of NLP. Some things work, some don't. NLP is a useful model to start somewhere, and surprisingly, some of the things within NLP are very effective to get results and actually change.

  • @theonlyyamaman Exactly.

Im not gonna say to much more cause you kinda already said it.How bias is it to say to someone THATs RIGHT.I wonder what that does?I read the comment respond to your post and all Im/were're saying is there shouldnt be any reenforcement favorable to the observer

  • Please do a literature search for NLP. You'll be surprised to find that it really doesn't exist in psychological journals!

NLP is something magicians use to fool people into thinking they actually have these peculiar powers. No one believes the magician is really levitating or vanishing but most audience members are just gullible enough to believe in NLP.

  • NLP is about experimentation as well as being a science. Check it out for yourself. I don't ask anyone to believe me about anything. You must research before making conclusions. We could have faked this session with Claire but I've left in all the bits that didn't quite work as well as those that did.

  • Science works by experimentation. I.e. experimentation is the work-horse of science. I have done extensive research on NLP and it shows many red flags of pseudoscience. I also do research at Oklahoma State University and this video is no where close to being justification of the proposed effects. Even if you don't have a mechanism, I will still believe the effect if predications can be satisfied.

Did Claire know she was being tested? May I ask some more questions about your methodology?

  • What i am saying is check it out for yourself. Your own research. The eye patterns of NLP have been extensively researched by Robert Dilts 25 years ago. The research took two years and in some respect is used in a technique called EMDR, which uses eye patterns to sync different parts of the brain. The kind of 'research' done in the name of science by guys sitting round at desks or in test tubes is not the type i prefer to give authority to. Please try out for yourselves, then give judgment.

  • Can you provide a reference number to those studies; I can not find it. The kind of research you are belittling created this modern society. It is the only method that has shown to discover Truths (not absolute) about our universe. Those who don't like being tested by the scientific method (e.g. psychics, homeopaths, astrologers) is generally because their phenomena doesn't exist.

If you really are trying to discover and isolate this effect then you should use the scientific method.

  • Also, you are presupposing you can't be fooled. You are claiming that if I see an effect then it is there but what if you are seeing an effect because your brain is created a pattern out of random noise? People do this frequently and it should be simple to eliminate this variable.

If this is real, then why not test how accurate it is by doing a very simple scientific experiment? You seem to be convinced of a conclusion and don't care about the evidence - qualities of an ideologue.

  • That may be true in THEORY, yet I work with phobias, cancer patients, that the men in white coats have no answers for! You can't just do positive thinking on cancer or phobias, yet I can get a stranger and release a phobia in less than 30 minutes. I am more interested in early scientists (Egypt and further back), who were scientific observers and used experiential evidence in equal order. The experience of love has more learning than any 'scientific' rendering. Experience and research equally

  • It always fascinates me why some people think antiquated primordial science is more accurate or less ignorant than modern medical science. Yes, medicine has become more complex (and all science for that matter) but don't let that retard the growth of human knowledge.

Ancient peoples (e.g. Greeks, Egyptions, etc.) have done wonders to advance human knowledge, but we've studied them and refined their ideas to more precisely fit reality! Some day people will do the same for our idea's.

  • @TXRebelOK.

You can believe what you want to believe but even fundamental NLP techniques helped me get out of "very severe depression."

So... I have something to tell you bud. If you don't believe something, have the courage or the self-control to not hurt or tarnish the reputation of something you don't know. Admit it and move on with life. That is all I am asking you.

  • @Phead128 What were these techniques? Many effective techniques are classified by NLP practitioners as NLP when they are really just basic psychology. If I teach someone that force equals mass times acceleration, is that NLP? Technically, I'm changing neuronal connections for that information to be stored (i.e. programming neurons with language).

Please outline the methodology used to treat depression with NLP. I'm open minded to anything you have to say and will seriously think about it.

  • @TXRebelOK.

That's all you need to cure depression, the ability (tools to change neural association patterns) to feel good about yourself in order to become good in order to effectively change.

I only read the first like 2 or 3 chapters of an NLP. I don't really believe in it, but I do believe that there are stuff in there that works.... some others like NLP Eye cues (I'm just like... what crap/bullshit)....

  • wtf? this shit sux useless like obama

  • ur mother is useless

  • SO! useful xx

  • but she almost never used her audio part of the brain, and the glitch should indicate that she hasn't a very strong audio"capasity". but Im picking up that the guy says her audio i dominant, or am I getting it wrong? according to me she is strong with pictures. thanks

  • you have to understtand them, if they are truly organised allways neat and pre planing chances are their using auditory recall or visual recall ... i could be wrong and if you disagree with what i said please reply and answer why

  • to figure out how someone is lieing you have to understand them and who their are and combine this with the knowing of theese eye movments and im sure you can figure this out

  • heis constantly giving her cues as to what he wants her to do, and then rewarding her. how many times does he say thats great to her? its hard to tell if there is anything relly going on.

  • @heartthehorse Wow. You are right. He is programming her to respond how he wants her to. When he first mentions how she listens to herself around 4:05 he immediately praises her when she looks in the 'appropriate' direction before she even has time to process the request. This video is a really an example of operant conditioning.

  • Does Claire play a musical instrument? As I was thinking, is there is a link between people who play a musical instrument and audio remembering. Would you see clearer indications in these audio zones if someone was musical? Has there been any case studies on this?

  • Going by the eye accessing cue chart being 100% correct. If Jane tells Tom to lie to Sam that she wasnt feeling well as she didnt want to go to the cinema, what would Toms eye movement do.

would i be correct in saying there would be no AC as there is a prearranged lie so you would surely see AR, as he is recalling what she said. So how could you detect a lie

  • Notice how he appears when he has no reason to lie ( map him ), then notice a change. For instance, someone was telling me a list of things they had done during the prior weekend. As she did she seemed comfortably making eye contact with me. Only while mentioning one activity, she looked down and away. I said I didn't know why, but that she was uncomfortable regarding the bookstore. Turned out it was she was purposely omitting the fact it was a Christian bookstore. Mapping or calibrating.

  • The above was supposed to be a response to cooperm. Occasionally people are wired "backwards". Don't tell the person you are mapping them when you casually ask a question re their past, recent or otherwise. A pre-planned lie will still appear in their constructed/future zone, or they may look down to check how they feel about what they are saying. there will be a difference.

  • After Sam tells tom he's not feeling well he should be asked another question like "How are you feeling?" or "What are the symptoms?" this way if the lie is not thought out he will have to go to construct.

  • The letters that light up are where she is supposed to be looking. As you can see, she doesn't always go to those places immediately This video is not for research as we know the eye patterns are accurate, it's to give people an idea of eye patterns so you can work with clients more easily. Mostly useful in natural surroundings. When the eyes go to different quadrants they are seeing pictures listening to sounds, remembering data etc. Not useful to the everyday person not working with clients..

  • Basically this video shows that Eye Accessing Cues technique barely works and if it does its very random and not reliable.

  • To be honest, I think the only reason this information hasn't been proven yet is because they do tests like this, and the subjects consciously know what's going on... If you were to randomly ask a question, I think that the subject would in fact make some kind of eye pattern. Everyone differs... And that's why it's important on getting to know someone beforehand before they find out which representational system the subject prefers... I know this isn't possible for therapists mind you.

  • Good to hear that, as this exercise was probably the least successful I've ever done! I left it up because of it's imperfections and to show that you need your (client/person) in a good state plus not all questions are good enough to get the eyes moving perfectly where the demo was supposed to go. The idea as a practitioner is to have enough sensory awareness to get information from as many places as possible...and eye patterns are a good starting place :)

  • I noticed that she had a tendency to look at you. I think that could have interfered with the readings. She was nervous, and instinctively trying to check out YOUR body language to understand what was going on. So that's why her eyes kept shifting to the left.

  • id say she knows exactly whats going on and knows which direction to look in

  • She's looking straight forwards and Auditory Recall is lighting up.. lol

  • true true that

  • Just try this with someone. It's really difficult to 'pretend' and 'make' your eyes go to different places. She has no idea where she's supposed to look here. Not every pattern is clear and that's why you have to ask different questions and get the person to try and not be under 'test' pressure.

In normal conditions it's much easier!

  • Yeah. It is easier in normal conditions. Your viewers are just concerned they are getting inaccurate information because she did have some idea as to the situation and what was going on.

  • I'd need to agree with you on that

  • Ive been looking into this, it kind works.
