Excellent production. Very good choice of background music. I liked Lee's Dracula very much. However, Gerard Butler's take on the vampire was oh so, so sexy. I'd have loved to have his one long fang impale me deeply.
CHRISTOPHER LEE, was the scariest..the master of impending doom..he was also the most violent..BELA LUGOSI, left an indelible mark...HE will never be erased..
@CultureClasher Bela Legosi. Christopher Lee. and Frank Langella. And yes how about Jack Palance. If you have not seen it, it is on youtube, in many ways Palance is the quintessential Dracula. Of course he only played him one time in a TV movie from 73. But it is a beautiful little movie for a TV movie and Palance is great at least in my opinion. Lee and Legosi are great Draculas thou no doubt. It is on youtube if sometime you want to watch it, I have part two ,posted on my
Christopher Lee was the best by far and 1 of the greatest actors of all time. But the full name and coolest outfit along with hairstyle for Dracula was done by Richard Roxburgh. Along with best accent and second best preformance for Dracula. Perfect Name For Dracula, used by Richard Roxburgh was Count Vladislaus Dracula, and is a name i think we should all use when saying Dracula's full name. Plus the Outfut he used In Vanhelsing's Dracula Was Awesome.
Christopher lee Had the most talent total And was tall To express dracula's appearance and he had the most experience and he was indeed the best dracula ever. But Richard Roxburgh is a very close second having less experience but alot of talent to make up for that. He did the best Appearance for dracula besides being tall, and having the best hairstyle ever for dracula too. He was awesome i love richard roxburgh Im practically addicted to the movie Van Helsing But ill always love Christopher Lee
best draculas were Bela Lugosi who was 6'1, Christopher lee who was between 6'4 and 6'5, Frank Langella who was around 6'2 or 6'3, Gary Oldman who was 5'9 Gerard Butler who was 6'1/2 Richard Roxburgh who was 5'11. As you can see Most all Draculas were tall but the best would be christopher lee cause he was always coming across tall. But the second best would be richard roxburgh, and the tied for 3rd would be Gerard butler and of course Frank Langella
Bela Lugosi played Dracula with a somber, aristocratic air. Palance and Oldman were too sympathetic. Christopher Lee's performances were the closest to Sroker's vision.
What is the Name of the Song in the Background. It is absolutly amazing. So amazing that you want to cry. So Butifull i must ever thinken at Pictures of the first World War if hear it. Absolutly amazing. Thank you....
Dracula was thin, tall, Bela, however great actor, had a round and rough face that Dracula had not. Christopher lee the best Dracula and always will be
@MmeLEnfer Yes it stated it was 2 years ago. I hope it is not too irritating at this late date. Comment trawler? Eh? No doubt Lugosi and Lee were great as Dracula. The problem is that Palance only played him once in a TV movie from 73. However, it is a beatufiul little movie for a TV movie and Palance is great or at least in my opinion. It is on youtube, if you want to watch it sometime. I have part two posted at my channel right now.
@TheJackiemickie Not at all. By comment trawler I mean someone who trawls through years of comments, which I've been known to do when bored / procrastinating.
I see what you mean, I'll check it out sometime. I think Lee and Lugosi probably suffered - not in all - their movies - like that, Lugosi doing comedy versions and Lee in increasingly ridiculous movies with less and less dialogue (like the Satanic Rites of Dracula - egad! what a plot)
It's from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest by Hans Zimmer. The track title is Davy Jones, and yes... it is beautiful. Hans Zimmer is one of the finest movie composers working today. Check out the track Chevalier des Sangraal from The DaVinci Code.
You left out one very important actor...you have to dig back a little farther.....Nosferatu......1928...Max Schrek played a very horrific Dracula.
Otherwise....Gary Oldman was the most "real" characterization of Vlad Dracula. But my hear still holds a special place for Christopher Lee. (First Dracula film I saw Dracula Has Risen from the Grave)
Well for me Oldman's Dracula has a bit too much of Ann Rice thrown into his performance and Coppola tried to make him sympathetic as opposed to Stoker's count who is a predator and has no qualms about killing or viciously attacking and dominating Mina for instance.
You did quite a good job including some great vintage images. I especially liked the group scene with Lugosi and company...and wasn't that Jack Palance in the one clip? His interpretation wasn't enjoyed by all Dracula fans but I quite liked it.
Chistopher lee is the best one to play Dracula, atleast he must be better than this actor Gary Oldman, Gary doesn't even look so scary as Christopher lee but I must say that Gary oldman is among the best Dracula players. And Gary is a very talanted actor too, no question about that.
My favorite Dracula is Richard Roxburgh. I see you didn't put him in this video, but that's okay. I'm a big fan of "Dracula" and I'm not even afraid of vampires. So you worked all night to make this? Well, kudos on a job well done!
My favitore Dracula is Gary Oldman, I have yet to see Christpher Lee and the who's that guy that played Dracula in the 30's? That guy. Rudolf Martin, was not as good, he did not grab me as being Dracula, but as Vlad Tepes he did an exellent job. I am picky when it comes to Dracula, if he doesn't have that strong prensence while being sexy at the same time. It doesn't grab me.
@Crawlfan that is your opinion. I am fan of the fictional and real Dracula. Vlad Tepes is my hero. Vlad Tepes is far more interesting than Bram Stoker's Dracula.
Even though Vlad Tepes as nothing to do really with Bram's Dracula. I will admit there is Vlad like essence in the charcter and the background. But it is really hard to study Romanian History and not run into Vlad Tepes.
The best Dracula movie is David Lynch's "Gay Dracula".
