Thanks for the video man I bought a wasr 10/63 and had to clue how to clean it so I just type in how to clean an ak47 and a few videos came up but yours is the best.
Don't leave oil on "bolt carrier.(sorry about bad english)In serb agression the comandants tell us to not leave oil on bolt carrier and this part of wood and steel.Because the oil that you use catn't be fired on small temp. but on big it can make explosion and blow up your face.Sory about my bad english.
Is the music required!!??!?! :O idk i need a cleaning rod though i don't have a bore snake in .30cal and i don't have a cleaning rod. no cleaning rod in the $10 kit i bought >:(
@TalibanTurkeyShoot ummmm im confused... i was just calling that guy a fag becaue we are good friends and he just bought an ak.. and i was giving him shit. i really think your crazy now? goverment isnt bad.. some of the people inside the goverment is. with out goverment. we would have nothing
awesome vid man, quick question, how often should i clean my ak? i just bought one today and fired off 60 rounds of some cheap ammo so i was wondering if i need to clean it yet.
@somethingtough Just run a few cotton pieces with oil through it. You shouldn't have to do a thorough cleaning that often. Maybe after ever few hundred rounds. UNLESS you are using corrosive ammo. Then clean it very well each time.
Thanks for the video man, just wondering what is the reason you start at the receiver end when cleaning the barrel? Ive been cleaning the barrel from the other end on my ak for awhile now , hope im not messing shit up.
@ebwrath It is just good to not go through the muzzle end so you dont mess up the crown. But you would notice if the bullets are doing funny things while target practicing. If you cant sight it in at all that COULD be the problem.
Thanks alot for this video, bro. I'd say well done. I bought an AK last week and just wanted to make sure I knew exactly how to clean it before I start using it. Props
It has been about a year since I made this video. I have since then, Bought some Bulgarian AK furniture that was on military AK-74's, refinished the wood and put on my WASR-10. I also installed a new Pistol grip, and removed the tack weld to undo the muzzle nut and replaced it with a SLANT MUZZLE BRAKE! Then I attached a Soviet AK-47 sling. Will post a video soon!!!
@greygoosevodka1 Because it is steal and wouldn't be good for the chrome lined barrel or the crown (muzzle end) but also because there is no need to since I bought a cheap cleaning kit. I would only use that if I was up in the hills fighting an invasion or revolution where I would only be carrying the rifle appointed cleaning kit.
When I first got my WASR 10 I hit it with brake cleaner then rem oil then I used hops lubricant on all the moving parts. It got most of the metal shavings out until I shot it
I have never used Hoppes. Just wanna get an AK-47 and need to know how to clean it? And is the solvent required? Can you just clean it regularly with the RemOil?
@MrNinja2112 Yes that would be fine. I use the solvent because it helps break up all the carbon build up but the AK-47 is such a loose working reliable power house you would be fine just cleaning it with rem oil once in a while. That would be fine.
dude your new name should be wasr king. lol. so i took it apart and put it back together. be for e i take it out the first time shoul i take it to a gunsmith to make sure i did it rite? it does the same thing it did before i took it apart. im just nervous it would blow in my face or sum shit. thanks man
@WHERESAMERICAGOIN As long as it is functioning correctly when racked, safed, unsafed, and fired, and there are no cracks in the bolt or breach you should be safe. Just cycle it unloaded a few times to see if it is working right. It will only fit together one way. Do you know how to safely do all of this?
@WHERESAMERICAGOIN First- Position the "front" of it (end closest to breach) and then either push the "button" in while forcing the back down or just try to "pop" it down while keeping force pushing it forward twards the breach. There is a small "collar" to fit the end over before popping the back down. Use the forward pressure to keep it over the "collar" then slam on the back. Hope this helps.
@joshkkv I would use firearms solvent due to the possibility of having a chrome lined barrel but I am sure there are others you can use. If I was in dire need to cleen it in a battle situation and all I had was brake cleaner I would probably use it. But just go with the stuff made for firearms to be safe.
Best gun cleaning video i have ever seen! I just got a darko pistol that still has all that cosmoline crap on it and i wanted to see how to properly clean this kind of weapon. thanks!
i just got a wars 10. thx for the video very helpful. im havin an issue with it though. its firing but when it ejects the shell it puts in the next shell but it wont fire it. i have to pull the charging handle again to get it to fire. any advice on something i can try?
@scipio558 There must be a problem either with the hammer not catching or not being pushed back far enough by the gas piston/bolt carrier. check to make sure "while unloaded and without the dust cover on" that you can manualy cycle it and look for problems. I would have to see it.
@lith324 Thanks! I will have a video up of a new stock set I am refinishing in my woodshop. They are going to be for sale soon. Bulgarian surplus stocks refinished.
@DirectTech Any time! Thanx. I will be doing a video soon of taking off and replacing the entire stock set "all of the wood parts" if you want to check it.
