  • Amazing! if by anyy chance, could you please please please email me the synth part to this?

  • The original Celeste was performed on electronic as John Williams thought it sounded cleaner and more magical.

  • Awesome I see BASS CLARINETS!!!

  • Does anyone know who wrote this arrangement? And how might I buy this arrangement somehow?

  • Just wanted to point out to people giving props to the flutes for the runs in the beginning bit, the 1st clarinet has those runs too, and the clarinet(s) played them very well too. I know from playing them that they aren't easy runs to play.

  • i really hate the guy coughing.

  • I`m Japanese junior high school student.

    I`m a flute player.

    This song`s very dificult!!!

  • @Nanoka1000 It's a piece... :/

  • Ii've noticed there is a bit of sound lag, but really only affects the conducting, makes it seem off

  • @FireEmblemFanatic You can blame youtube for that.

  • whats the name of the song at 5:40 ???? omg i have searched so long for this, please tell me.. i looove it :( <3

  • @TheLovelySunify Leaving Hogwarts ;)

  • @nicobill95 thaaank you :) i think this is a very beautiful and emotional song, at harry potter an the deathly hollows part 2 i cried at the end, when this song came.... :) oh i love harry potter!!!!! <3 it will always be in my heart and part of my childhood :)

  • Amazing!!!

  • Awesome piece, but some parts of this are ridiculously hard ^__^

  • John William is THE BEST!

  • @eliisaabethh

You mean John Williams is THE BEST *at copying*

  • It's beautiful!

  • 5:40 best song

  • WOOOO!!! go mr adams :D

  • STOP EVERITHING!!! 5:38

    That Man is a WIZARD!!!

  • @hendrilrios lol

  • how many tuba's was there???

  • We have just got this piece for my school band (: Hope we can play it this good >.<

  • That was absolutely wonderful....beautiful version. well done

  • what age group does this vary from? it's pretty good, and the flutes are doing a really good job on the scales at the beginning.

  • @scy511 Ages in this group range from 16 to 60 and thank-you. I'll pass on your compliment to the flutes.

  • @thejackadams No problem... even though this was made in 08 :) I'm 16 myself. I play clarinet where are you located, or is the band an invite only type thing? I'm trying to get my feet in the door in the classical community.

  • The flutes did a fantastic job in the beginning with the scales. its so hard. I play flute and clarinet my self.

  • My schools beginning band played this song! I remember helping the flute learn it(:

  • I love how it pans to people not playing when the woodwinds have ridiculous parts.

  • lol 0:29 ;D

  • your performance was a joy. if you ever come down to singapore, we should arrange a band exchange!

  • 英語のコメだらけの中、日本語登場w

    これ、こんど吹くかもしれません♡

    これか、死の秘宝かな(^^♪

  • Absolutely gorgeous! I'm a musician that adores Harry.

  • That is the saddest I've ever heard "Leaving Hogwarts" been played. It made me cry and reminded me how much I miss it all. Thank you for that.

  • Can anyone PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEASE tell me the name of the theme at 5:20?????? PLEASE

  • @ShadowCrescentsIt's called "Leaving Hogwarts", it appers at the end of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" and at the end of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2"

  • Lindo !

  • Muito Bom mesmo!!

  • This is making me cry... :')

  • Goospops...!

  • @jbe1996 I love Timpani the most in the percussion, more than the drum set, when I was a kid.

  • is it okay to admit that the end part makes me want to cry? such beautiful music.

  • Was there a Cor Anglais/English Horn part in this arrangement? We're playing the same arrangement and I need to know what Oboe type instrument they need me to play ahah. :D

  • Oh wow. O:

  • @Mcl0vin11 I love playing timpani and I'm a flute player. Occasionally there won't be enough percussionists and so I volunteer to play timpani. So much fun!

  • The quidditch song was wayy too slow, but otherwise, this was pretty awesome.

  • @jbe1996 btw its not japanese people that are being forced by their parents thats chinese

  • @jbe1996 I have taught at every grade level of instrumental music. I can tell you from experience that even 5th graders love to play timpani. Also, what thejackadams says is true: the musicians you see are well-rounded percussionists, but they will have a natural inclination to be drawn to one instrument over another. Some prefer mallets, some snare and some timpani. Make no mistake though, there are those who want to be percussionists and then there are those who want to hit things.

  • we played this song in high school...we wern't as good as this though...this sounds awesome

  • wow....we're playing this in band right now, and there is absolutely no way we're going to sound THAT good. This is like perfect!

  • even if I knew nothing about Harry Potter, this music would remind me of something magic, something beyond of my imagination and my knowledge.. It takes your mind away and places it into adventure, mystery, fun and a whole magic world..

  • our high school band is gonna play this....its gonna suck. so bad.

  • The closest thing to a good recording of "Nimbus 2000." Great job, guys!

  • Chills throughout the whole thing!

  • This was arranged to wonderfully I forgot that it was from harry potter.

  • nice horns love it play horn myself

  • do you know how long these kids have been playing

  • Fantastic! ... Happiness From Brazil!

  • @jbe1996 i don't think that timpani can fit in a bag

  • i cried when i saw electronic instruments

  • @stevenhamlin1000 Unfortunately, we don't have a harp player. That's the only part played on the synth.

  • @thejackadams ahh i see

  • @stevenhamlin1000 The celeste used in the original soundtrack for HP was actually a synthesizer played by Randy Kerber.

  • @thegoodgeneral ok i just hate electronics in classical music i like it in rock music and jazz but not classical

  • @stevenhamlin1000 what do you expect? It's in Japan. Expect electronic devices.

  • @synjerome What a stupid statement. As if playing in Japan has anything to do with electronic devices. They just needed a part covered. We did the same thing with a Vaughan Williams piece.

  • BEAUTIFUL!! Absolutely Beautiful!!! :)

  • OMG, AN AMAZING SONG!!! i suddenly have the strangest urge to cough in the middle of it!! get some manners, you dumbasses...

  • Excellent.

  • *--*

    So beautiful :D

  • i guess there is no way i can get a full sheet music on this? :D very nice playing all of them

  • i'm playing this on the clarinet, 1st part soloist. it's wicked hard but i love it <3 John Williams is amazing, as is Robert W. Smith

  • @vampireeclipses91 I'm playing the celeste opening!! :) John williams and Smith are the men! Well said! :D Love your username btw!

  • @theworldwillknowme thank you :) i like you're too. it's very inspirational

  • @jbe1996 playing timpani requires patience and good rhythmic knowledge.

  • @delialah14 i know that, i play it my self (:

  • It makes me feel Awesome when i see girl trumpet players, cuz im the only one in my section:D!

  • Most perfect...I think.

    Its wonderful.

  • Most perfect...I think.

    Its wonderful

  • Wow. When I'm listening to this, I feel like my own class really sucks. xD

  • Simply beautiful..thanks for sharing.

  • cool

  • Oh and also the flute runs at the beginning, really good.

  • My school band is playing. We sound like uhm. Poop. compared to this.

  • The people you see playing timpani are percussionists. They don't just play one instrument. They learn to play all of the percussion instruments. Most of them can play the drum kit as well...and playing timpani is fun!

  • @thejackadams also, Most of these musicians play 2nd if not 3rd instruments as well. They (as musicians) want to broaden their knowledge of playing music.

  • @thejackadams you should watch this anime or live drama ( which ever you prefer ) called Nodame Cantabile. Its a very comical show where the characters are musicians trying their best in the music world. Plus there's a character that plays timpani and LOVES it. :D

    Its just a thought ...

  • @thejackadams i know that, I play timpani my self (: but they have probably been offered, like me, to play in an orcestra, and then learned how to play timpani. I play all kinds of percussion instruments, so I know what it's like..

  • @thejackadams Lol, TImpani.... 73 bars of metered rest, all for a crescendo'd single stroke roll on a Bb, nobody really wants to be a concert percussionist.

  • UAAAAAAAU!!!!!!!!! O_O

  • @Mcl0vin11 My guess would be none of them and I know them all quite well. This is a community band and all of the members play in it because they love to play. Japanese children are usually allowed to choose the activities in which they wish to participate and then encouraged to give their very best effort at all times. A strong work ethic is a huge part of their culture. In this case, that translates to strong practice ethic which any accomplished musician knows is necessary for success.

  • @thejackadams surreeee they are.

  • who ever coughing is so ruining the masterpiece!

  • hehe i smuggled the first clarinet part home when we were supposed to return music :) now i can play this over and over at home.

  • @lifewithchrissy

Jealous. I'd love to get my hands on that first clarinet part. I play clarinet too!

  • perfeição!

  • the timpani player also playing the triangle never seen tht one before. hope i get to play this in band.

  • this makes me want to be in band

  • amazing

  • excelente presentación... ;-)

  • a wonderfull peformance. great job guys

  • Sounds amazing!!!

    I LOVE it!^^

  • wow......... :') 6:00 is the best and it made me think that year when i watched theese 3 kids and now.....they are adults....wow!!!

  • I've ALWAYS wanted to see what instruments created Hedwig's Theme, in particular the opening music which always sounded like a music box to me. Now I know it'sa vibraphone (I think that's it). Excellent recording and wonderful to see "live" via a recording. :)

  • @lambikins i think it's a celesta that makes the sound but they used a synthesizer instead as celesta are rather hard to get

  • @chunwong1993 Hey, chunwong!!! I just discovered your answer to me; I had changed youtube addresses right after this. Thanks for your answer; I wiki'd "celesta" and was fascinated by the instrument...never heard of it in my life and it makes perfect sense that that is what John would have used. Thanks again for the education!

  • 8:18 "Mmmmm that was sweet!!"

  • omg the song is so delicate ! Perfectionn :D

  • Lol harry potter sorceres stone!!

  • Good Job Mr. Adams wish we played this for band with the Wind Orchestra that would have been neat. I wish you guys came back to Yokosuka. You should tell Mr. Parker to come down to Sasebo :D

  • Yall are.. amazing. Great job. Props on so many levels. Deffinetly to the percussion and trumpets.

  • From 6:22 to 7:06... Amazing...

  • Sound trek Harry Potter

  • The flute on the right looks really cool with the golden flute!

  • Oh wow, that was amazing, the beginning pulled me in. i love it!

  • Nice performance! What do the Asian characters above the performers say?

  • The sign is in Japanese and says: Sasebo Wind Orchestra...the name of the ensemble.

  • @ thejackadams: Thanks.

  • @stevemaster1763

It's not Asian, man. It's Japanese.

  • very good i like that

  • Wow, that is brath taking, specially the start

  • I love this,it is just too mysterious!Well this is a WIND orcheastra so I don't see what is the fuss about

  • Seems I can't even go to a video to see talented musicians playing without witnessing an argument of some sort.

  • this is amazing :D

  • well you're and idiot because that's a string bass not a cello...

  • ok i can solve the problem now ... this is not an orchestra because they do not have strings, having one string bass does not count, this is a wind symphony despite the name. =]

  • wow

  • lmao. if you read the title it says "WIND orchestra"

  • What's funny about wind orchestra?

  • @GracieLullabelle

    Thats an upright bass

  • this is grat. loved it!

  • very grat indeed

  • this is grat. Know what else? Its also great!

  • I'm guessing this ensemble has no oboes since there's a soprano saxophone playing a section where oboes are supposed to...

  • Wonderful! Sadly that person who starts coughing to death in the audience is there.

  • u rock guyz...!

  • Saudade do Jonh Willians... espero que ele volte pra fazer os últimos 2 filmes...

I hope so John Willians come back in the last 2 Harry Potter's movies...

  • ABSOLUTELY MAGICAL!!!!!!

    Excellent!

This is Brilliant.. You guys are the Best!

Just like being back in the Cinema.

    Thank you very Much.

  • *-*

  • What the hell? Are those people coughing on purpose? I feel like strangling them! "Oh, music... AGGGHHFFFUFRUFFURUGURGHH!!"

  • @PierceHardwood omg thats hilarious lol XD

  • flutes were amazing! especially on those really hard runs, trust me i know. Im playing this piece also and those runs are killer on the fingers haha go flutes! (:

  • ya i was gonna say my band should play this but the runs do sound extremely difficult

  • Japan bands are always good this goes for orchestras too

  • 5:20 amazing... i just love it. It makes me cry all the time!

  • my band is playing this this season...so excited :D

  • bravo john me ecanta

  • Expecto Patronas!!!

  • I can't say nothing... it's just perfect. :)

  • *_______________*

  • Actually there WERE some little mistakes made. But i love it!

You noe why? Cos got euphonium!!!!<3

Usually dun have. You rock dude!xD

  • this was beautiful!

    very nice arrangement!

  • very magical

  • Zomg! I wish I could've been there.

Always dreamed of going to a "Harry Potter" performance. =)

  • YAY its Harry! Great balance and blend- nice flutes

  • @lvtmp117 That's Mr. Adams for you

  • Comment removed

  • wow its a full orchestra! i love this performance x3

  • @timmylois2 It's not an orchestra. It's a wind orchestra, which is another fancy term for a concert band.

  • whoops my bad :P

  • no taint its an orchestra just without the strings

  • @nobbynooby Do some research. An orchestra (comprised of strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion) without strings is a CONCERT BAND. Also known, depending on instrumentation, as a wind ensemble, wind symphony, or wind orchestra.

  • yes but its still an orchestra becauseit still has orchestra in its name : wind orchestra

  • I'm not going to continue with this after this comment, but you have no idea what you are talking about. It's a concert band, not an orchestra. Ask anyone who is a classical musician what an orchestra is and they will tell you it includes strings. Hence the "wind" being affixed to the beginning. Please educate yourself before posting comments.

  • alright calm down! i play in the cornwall youth wind ORCHESTRA so what i play in is still an orchestra but a wind one. If it was not an orchestra it would not have orchestra in its name. The people playing are from the Sasebo Wind Orchestra. If it were a concert band, dont you think they would call themselves the Sasebo Concert Band?

  • I've played in wind ensembles, concert bands, and wind symphonies. Wind Orchestra is also called concert band, wind band, symphonic band, symphonic winds, wind symphony, wind ensemble, or symphonic wind ensemble.

Why not call is concert band? For one, it's sounds more sophisticated. The other reason has to do with instrumentation and size. A Wind Ensemble traditionally sits one person to a part, where as a wind symphony...

  • Is lots of people to a part. That is fundamentally different. This is like comparing a chamber orchestra to a symphony orchestra. The size and the instruments changed.

That being said, the reason it's called a wind orchestra is their size. They are probably not one on a part. But it's not an orchestra. It's fundamentally a concert band.

  • Very well done the flutes at begining sound amazing great effort

  • AH-MAY-ZING!!! :P

  • Very nice. :)

  • beautifull

  • I like the Glockenspiel at the start

  • great job.

  • I find it interesting to hear a different take on these themes...

  • woah!...this performance is fantastic!!!!

  • The trumpets r just a bit too 'heavy' for my liking. great performance though.
