hmm, i don't get it. i beat the original myst just a few months ago and never played realmyst, so can anyone explain what's being parodied here? apparently realmyst had some serious flaws compared to the original, but anything more specific?

Theres not really any joke to get, it's just a parody of the original, prerendered version of Myst. Realmyst was a remake of Myst in full 3D, rendered in "real time". It got bad reviews mostly because it wasn't really anything new.

@GameDocumentaries Real Myst is like a 3-D version of the original Myst. It is like a first person shooter version almost. You can go around objects you couldn't in the original. It is not like Myst III where everything is just 360 degree pictures. Real Myst is actually real 3-D.

is it possible to be able to download realmyst from gametap without actually having to pay? i've signed up so i have the temporary free game pack thingy, & it claims that i can now download & play realMYST for free, but everytime i click the downlaod/play button it keeps coming up with the page where i have to choose between 2 different game packs that i have to pay for, even though i've got the free one. so what the hell?

I think you can, I just have a burned copy of the game from a friend. I have heard the gametap version has some issues on XP, but it's worth a try, realmyst is a great version of an amazing game!
