  • awesome job of teaching this!

  • @alexanderarduini

thanks for the kind words alexander

  • Hi, could you please explain the part at 1:43? Thanks

  • @seclet86 didn't explain that too thoroughly first time through. strum 3 strings while lightly muting them. I strum 4th string at 7th fret, 3rd string at 7th fret and 2nd string at 5th fret (E note). The E note is the only one that really rings out, the other 2 strings are dampened (muted) by not quite fretting them all the way down.

You could just strum them too and it would sound fine.

  • Well done. Made it quite easy to understand

  • very well done tutorial..good teacher ..smart presentation...cheers..

  • @laphant1

thanks a loit for the kind words laphant1.

  • Awesome video. What do you use for distortion and any other settings. I love the california sound but i cannot seem to get it from my imitation les paul

  • @xX3MINE3MXx

hey sorry I don't remember the settings unless you can find them in the comments here. I played it on Guitarport. No distortion. some reverb, little chorus. Definitely a good song for a strat. this is how we end up with multi guitars :-)

  • @jamne1 Fender StratoFaster)) cool guitar

  • You don't say which strings are played...otherwise this would've been a perfect tutorial.

  • @DeFunkStar I really think you're best to just feel your own way with the strumming.

I keep a light hand with a bit of palm muting. At least sometimes I seem to be; down, down, up, up, down.

  • @jamne1 Exactly. It gets so much better when you get to the point where you can just feel what to play next instead of having to think about it

  • @DeFunkStar

    thanks DeFunk.

  • That intro sounded so awesome!

  • i don't understand some parts because of the camera position :(

  • @pleasca2000 hey pleasca have you read the notes I added beside the video?

I know my fingers get in the way but the notes should help you find the chords.

  • @jamne1 Ugh...yea, i saw them now :D... forgot to look there. Thanks verry much for reply, helped alot !

  • Hi. I noticed that this song needs high reverb to sound right. May I ask you the kind of amp that you use?

  • @kazuyajap hey kazu. I actually used Line6 Guitarport for this.

I wish I could get it working again on Win7. I loved it.

Yeah I had some reverb too and a little chorus and delay.

    cheers.

  • What tuning is this in?

  • @youneverno41

    Standard tuning.

  • Could you please explain how you are playing the chord at 1:43? I am can't figure it out. Thanks a lot

  • @supersamos99

  • @jamne1

  • You are fuck in good I.wish I could play like you.:) I subscribed

  • thanks for that, i couldnt find any decent tabs for this so you helped me cheers

  • @angkorwatt22 thanks angkorwatt. glad it helped out.

  • if only i could sing, this video would have aided me so much more and i'd be getting laid more often lol . . great video, my fellow youtuber :)

  • @casperlok2dbrain yeah good luck with that casperlok. If it was that easy none of us would have time for youtube :-)

    thanks for the kind words.

  • Myself I Thought You Explained the Song Pretty Well, I Mean. Ya Gotta Look at the Video & Then You SHOULD be Able to Understand Your Instructions. Thank's for the GREAT Lesson.

  • @Billyray195159 I agree this video is great! i never thougt i was going to learn this one but i did thanks to this video! you dont need to show you fingers up too close you can sorta figure this out if you see the basic shape!

thanks!! (typing with guitar in hand not easy)

  • @goldcoastflyer thanks gcflyer.

  • this is wonderful

  • Awesome lesson, thank you so much for this.

    Dm

  • @Detman101

    thanks a lot Detman.

  • Nice guitar playing an all of that. Too bad you aren't very good at giving lessons. It's almost like you have to be a mind reader to follow your instructions. Otherwise it's cool to watch you play.

  • @2009ealp yeah I wish I made this one a little more clear but I tried to remedy it by leaving some notes along with the video. See if these notes help you find the right chords. I hope they will and remember using your own ears is where it all begins.cheers.

  • when you say 'a bit of a sweep onto the e note on the 5th fret' on 1:50 what do you mean

    thnx

  • @dave481985 hey dave.

  • @jamne1 thnx for that

  • thank you, perfect !

    (from France)

  • @BobMourad

thanks for all the kind words folks. Glad this song is getting played by so many.

    cheers.

  • Would be good if the shot of your guitar was more centred but thanks for the lesson.

  • Good stuff. Picked it up after the first watch. Thanks.

  • Hi, i really really enjoyed listening to you and would very much like to learn it like you do . but i have a prob i cant make out which chords you are playing because you are covering with your other fingers, is it possible if you tell me which chords you are playing , i would really appreciate it ....plssss

  • obviously not for beginner caz i dont get it... still souns nice bro

  • @ujangpeter

work on the chords peter. You'll hear the song in your head and enjoy it. the trickier picking can come when you're up for it.

  • Thanks for the settings my friend, keep up the nice work.

  • Exellent song!! and well instructed by you. I like the sound of your guitar. How can I get the same sound out of my Ibanez? I have a boss me25 multi effects pedal (bought recently) any settings advice?

    Thanks for the lesson...salute!

  • @Pieterani7 Thanks Pieterani. I'm playing this through Line 6 'Guitar port' on my pc. '87 jazz clean amp drive # 6 bass - treble - mid all around #5 - 6 chorus - 30% mix a little digital delay Cavernous reverb set at 50% played on a Highway 1 strat. Keep experimenting with your pedal it'll probably have more than enough in it combined with your pick up switch. Mark.
  • Dude you rock! Make another video but play it all the way through! Your guitar sounds awesome too!

  • Adorei a apresentação e introdução desta eu so gostaria de saber por onde anda Chris Isaak um monstro da música.

  • @45625801ful

ele ainda está lá fazendo músicas cada dia

  • Superb lesson, thank you Sir!!!

  • @Rav3rac3r Right on Rav3.

That's worth doing every once in a while!

  • Hey you could improve the intro/riff by using the 3rd string 4th fret instead of the open 2nd string =)

  • An awesome lesson for an awesome song. Thank you :)

  • thanks for this!!!! your the best and this video is a perfect instruction on how to play this wonderful song!

Hey double D thanks for the great comment. Makes my day.

    happy picking.

  • muchas gracias, muy útil. Thank you very much, understood

  • nice!

  • Having the camera low completely obscures where the fingers are. All you see is knuckle.

  • Man, thank you so much! I was struggling trying to watch the guitar player's hands on various videos of the song. Lots of things I pick up by ear and watching but this one was escaping me. I got close but no cigar! This is perfect - thanks again!!! RR

    Rgds,

    Mark.

  • Thanks man - better than any tab, I've seen.

  • thanks a lot jerseyroyal. and thanks for the playing tips. I just added some notes to the description to help all of you out with this. I'll try to be more clear in future.

  • Thanks a lot, man - much better than any tab I've seen. For people for whom the picking section is unclear, after the 3 notes with the lifted first finger, he puts it down on the 2nd fret, 2nd string (leaving 3rd and 4th unchanged) and plays strings 2, 3 & 4. He then plays string 3 twice and then string 4. Then slides down and forms Asus2 and plays strings 2, 3 & 4.

  • Can you please send me the tab?

  • hey migel;

I sent you some extra notes on W. game. and I watched Volare on your channel. What a great video.

    Thanks for that.

    mark

  • thank you thank you thank you! been trying to figure this one out for the longest time and you have made it possible! Rocking! Also i love the fender!

  • thanks a lot nikhilesh. Glad it helped.

  • Fender...

  • can u add tabs?

  • thanks for checking in Fluid!

    keep rocking

  • I forgot to ask you, can you write or just point me to tabs about this way of playing Wicked Game? I get confused in the Bminor part with this version. Thanks

  • 40th thief;

I'll send you a few notes too long to post here.

    Mark.

  • Up until now I knew a whole way of playing Wicked Game. I start with 3rd string 3rd fret then 3rd string again11th fret. Your version works out great too.

  • whats the guitar and amp that you have?

  • hi rchandio;

I'm playing a fender strat. 'Hwy 1' through Line 6's Guitar Port on my pc. It makes a cheap, super flexible practice amp. I have a little delay, reverb and chorus on too.

    hope this helps,

    Mark
