  • asha bhosale ka ek behatreen geet hai yehharpal sunne yogaya

  • Y dont you post that photo..

  • no better dancer than Waheeda Rehman.....

  • talanted asha sung this s.j.'s tune fabulously.

  • love this song.. so many memories attached with this

  • one of my favourite song..i used to listen when i was studying in primary school....still listining...dil bharta hi nahi hai...

  • This not from Oudh/Utter Pradesh but from Purnea District in Bihar. The place where this occurs is Garh Banaili.

  • Funny interpretation by Praguhbis...I belong to area to same area and culture which the story of this film covers. I can not say how many times I have watched this film and heard this song. I am almost 36 years old and that interpretation never came to mind. May be I am still to mature...

  • Actually, the lyrics is full of double meaning sentences. The portion where she says drops of paan's on her lovers clothes indicates that he has taken her virginity. Since paan's droplets are red

  • perv. it is just a good song with no hidden meaning

  • Mr. praguhbis

Shailender write this song after watching S.D. Burman. He wears a mulmal ka kurtha.

Paan khane ki aadat thi, so paan ke daag kurte per lge rehte the. Shailender once saw him and write a song on this.

  • beautiful beautiful beautiful song thanks for sharing

  • Wahida is a gem .......

  • One of the most beautiful songs I have heard, both for its musical contents and conentrated poetic expression describing most befittingly the culture of (Oudh)Uttar Pradesh, now overshadowed, alas, by lowly Western influence.

  • Simply superb.

  • Its an amazing song of yester-years

  • Really Indians should feel proud to listen this kind of folk songs

  • You are disgusting.

  • I agree, the dance is very verbatum. Song is excellent though. The lyrics, music & voice complement each other beautifully.

  • dear myste and puredecptn.. pl see in the film she is a nautanki company dancer and she has to stick to her role.. nautanki is a folk art form.. also lot of cinema greats here.. chereographer lachchhu maharaj. basu bhattacharya making directorial debut. film shot by the master cameraperson subrata mitra. teesri kasam producer shailendra's lyrics, look at the amazing array of words in this song. sung by ashaji. so its their combined creative effort that makes it such a memorable song.

  • her dance is better than dances of todays' heroines

  • I wasn't comparing her to today's heroine's. That would be comparing apples to oranges. I was comparing her to actresses of that time. If you look at Vyjanthimala, for example, there is a world of difference in grace, dance, expressions & style.

  • yes you are right

  • I agree with you 110% on that!

  • she really needed to dance this song.. not good dancing here

  • dis movie...i gt a lesson abt mr.shailendra in my grade...n my hindi sir spoke non stop abt how beautiful dis movie is...n i thought he was exaggeratin...n for sumone hu is obsessed wid western music...im in love wid all da songs of dis movie...it realli is a masterpiece...accordin to da lesson..raj kapoor worked free of chargge for dis movie n all...but da movie went flop mr.shailendra died... =[...i love dat lesson...n dis movie too...good job mr.shailendra...dis movie is NOT floppp...<3

  • I am still waiting Waheedaji...

  • She is of my mom's age but when I was 9 years of age I was badly in love with her and wanted to marry her. I still search her in my wife. Sorry honey you are my second love.

  • its wonderful, i think this is from teesri kasam. am i right?

  • Simply natural.I eat Pan.

  • I have been listening to this song for years, and now I get to see the video! Thanks for posting. Waheeda looks amazing as usual.

  • This movie won the President's award for the best movie of the year. In spite of the songs it was a box office flop. Shailendra[the lyricist] who had produced the film , apparently died broken hearted after losing all his money on this film.

  • that is so ad to hear

  • hm i'm not sure about ''jagadoc's'' info..i heard the movie was a huge hit. my grandparents were around at the time and they told me.

  • jagadoc is right, I have heard the same thing from my dad. Movie was a hit but it became hit after the producer died........sad

  • paan to hum bhi khaao, per saayian naahin hum.

  • wah wah kia baat hai

  • This movie was shot in a small place Khurai in Madhya Pardesh. My Mama ji was stationed there as a Judge. He was guest of honor for opening of shooting of this movie. He has a picture with Raj and Waheeda just after this song. This is definitely memory lane...

  • Deepaji:

I don't have memories like yours to relate to. This song nevertheless gives me goose bumps every time I hear it. Immortal Song.

  • @deepakapoor Thats Awesome deepa....Raj was a true legendary artist of his own time... I enjoy all of his work...

  • this is from movie teesri kasam!
