  • I've benefited from your tutorials so much. Thank you for your detailed explanations!

  • My name is: Ju in Inachu im ni dah yes?

  • wat is the most accurate among all?

  • He's Korean American, his accent isn't very good, it's been influenced by English.

  • Couldnt I say she nun ______I'm nida ( I might of spelled it wrong but yeah?)

  • so.... What´s the best way to greet in Korean??

It´s kinda hard for me to fully understand this video because it has Korean and English in it, and I´m a Spanish native speaker ...oO

  • omg , just straight to the point . Im bad in focusing >:((

  • wait is this korean??

  • so, would i say cheonun kelsea imnida?

  • LOL! "name is james is is... period."

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!

  • this really helped! thank you!

  • wow thanks this helped me alot!

  • Kamsahamnida for the very honest attempt, keep it up

  • Seriously dude? Several errors in this video (I stopped watching). 이름이 제임스예요. It should not be 이에요; it should be 예요. The 이 (ee) after 이름 does NOT mean "is" ... it is a marker to let us know that 이름 (name) is the subject ㅐof the sentence.

The sad thing is that I am a beginner Korean learner. And these are basic things that you should know.

And you want to teach us Korean? *shaking head*

  • I love to learn korean....

  • oh my gosh! you would be my perfect korean teacher!!!

i want to learn korean sooo badd!!

the only thing I can say is hello.. ( Annyong haseyo) am I right??

=] oh geez i hope so!!

  • rofl. I laughed so hard when you sad: "name is james is is...period" your mien is priceless XD but the explanation was good too^^ thx by the way =D

  • i was told to say.. je nun _____ imnida....

  • Thanks for making this video. I am trying to learn korean and I have one question. At the end you said Koreans usually just say I am ..., instead of saying My name is ...

If I were to say 처 Chris 입니다, that translates literally to I Chris am. When you say to use the topic marking particle 는 like: 처는 Chris 입니다 wouldn't that be translated by native speakers as something closer to I (and only me, no one else) Chris am. Or am I not understanding the nuances of using the topic marking particle?

  • eh your pronounciation in korean is lackluster, did you grow up in america? for instance in korea (where im from) we DO ask people for their name. and its Juh neun (저는) NOT juh Nun.

  • yes.. audio please... and i need to read it so i know i can pronounce it :D

    thanks

  • annyeonghaseyo MinHee(Chrissy) ibnida

    annyeonghaseyo MinHee imnida

    ahnoyhasaeyo MinHee(Chrissy) imnida

    je ireum-eun Minhee(Chrissy) imnida

    Chŏ-nŭn MinHee(Chrissy) i-e-yo

Which is the most commonly used? And what is the most commonly used dialect of Korean in the modernest places(Like Seoul, for instance)?

  • @ChrissyxIsxAxNutter use the fourth choice when talking to older people and people you meet for the first time. dont forget to say ahnnyeong ha se yo first! choice 5 is for people around your age. show respect and people will think higher of you in korea.

  • would it be like

    초는 브리아나

and also, if I add '압니다' or '입니다' at the end does it change the meaning?

  • @10047994 no it would be (저는) 초 = seconds of time, candle, vinegar.

also the ending would be 입니다 = literally "am' or 'is"

  • @JtotheS09 so.. 처는 브리아나입니다!

    WHOOP! (or minus the 입니다)

    haha. Thank you!

  • I enjoy your videos, but I think if you gave the Hangul for what you're saying it would really help. I've been learning since February and I can actual read Hangul very well and I think if you added visuals, for people who can read it, it would help a lot!

  • Could you please write "my name is ..." on romaji in Korean? 'cause I can't speak Korean and I would like to know how to write it :3 Thanks ~

  • 이름이 엘리스입니다~

Would that be right ? :) Thankyou btw ^^

  • @jeremyshinwoo no that isnt right, the particle 이 is used in a different context, like saying what is your name? (이름이뭐야?)

you would say this 제이름은에리스입니다 (formal and respectful) or 내이름은(name)입니다. (not quite as formal BUT still shows respect)

  • @JtotheS09 Ahh thankyou ^^ I forgot about this haha I'm a bit better now XD

    Thanks though (:

  • Hi! Sorry to bother you but if you have some spare time (anytime) to correct this sentence i would be grateful:)

"An yong ha se oh, chonen ------(my name) im ni da, manaso pangapsumnida" ???

    Thnx/ NJ.G

  • @Azmojn this sounds fine EXCEPT take the question mark off the end. man na suh bangahp sup ni da (만나서반갑습니다) is stating nice to meet you.

  • not to be off topic... but doesn't your arm qet tired ? :|

  • best korean tuts on youtube

    subbed :)

  • ok you did mentioned "chonun" now I've heard and kinda read alot of way to say my name is...... but does this work? "chonun ed imnida" (ed is my name) so its like: annyong haseyo. chonun ed imnida.... coz i'm trying to learn hangul writing by myself and something is not right when it comes to "my name is" lol.

  • Can we get it written in korean, I think it would be better :)

  • Hey, you're hot!

Lol i'm kidding, but your videos are though!

Thanks for taking the time, maybe I'll actually be fluent one day.

  • i like watching ur videos!!

    its really good :DDD

    keep on making more please^^

  • dude ur confusing u keep saying this and that is close which one is it!

  • eiyu?? eiyo - period/way to end a setence.

  • edo means name

    eiyu eiyo?

  • edome

  • your one of the BES T- you break down and explain! LOVE WHAT YOU DOING. keep it coming. thanks

  • @sungl0 Unfortunately what he is saying is categorically wrong.

  • @rfwelsh ok so let me get this straight....you think that YOU, a bigginer, is more correct than a NATIVE speaker...really?

  • @xRyokuxluvsxUx Believe what you like, but what this guy is saying is NOT correct. Further, he's American, not Korean. He's not native. I live in Seoul and although I'm no expert, these are BASIC details. After about 500 hours of study, I think I'm qualified enough to comment on this.

  • @rfwelsh actually he is korean a korean-american and...let me rephraise, while yes korean may not be his first language, he was more likely taught by his parents who are more than likely native speakers, im just saying that its not really fair to correct him really....when you may not even be correct yourself

  • why dont you teach people how to read Korean before learning the language? please everybody dont try to learn Korean with this 사기꾼

  • mann.. I'm trying so hard to get it right..

  • Really good lesson but i have a question.

For the koreanovernight site do you have

to be a member to learn it, and if you want

to be a member do you have to pay for it?

    Thank you Shea

  • as well as the members of the KO Forum. Thanks!

  • Thanks sir Wan. This will help me in my Haedong Kumdo classes in the future.

  • I was told to say "chonen marlene amneeda"

  • Msred, hi. Yes. So if you say... juh nun marlene eem nee dah. That is perfect. I seperate the sounds as shown because each sound is a seperate word in korean.
