Close but not quite. The TE27 is the "levin" model, which has a T-series engine, flared wheel arches & Spoilers etc. Mine is a KE25 which only has a K-series engine.

They're both Corolla, but the TE27 is a Corolla Levin, mine is just an SL Corolla. i'm not entirely sure what the SL really means but i think it's just 'sportier' version. mine also has the woodgrain (looking) dash. I know the TE27 was in the states, but not sure where else. My car was built in New Zealand, but i would suspect that the 'levin' would have been an japanese import version.

joining club-k is easy. just click the forum link, then the register button at top right and follow the steps. that will give you a user name on the forums etc. the forum is where everything happens. mega entry list for rotor nats this year. im user ae25. hope to have my ke26 there but progress slow at mo. thought you might be 'hardcore-firefly', i guess not then?

Na i'm not. i ahve registered but from there i'm lost. i see the forums but don't recieve any emails, newsletters or anything that i'd expect from a club. well i am really close to finishing mine aye, just need to hook up oil/water to turbo, finish the loom, and program computer.

That sounds awesome! Yeah Vega's are pretty much just used for dragracing now days but I would like to swap in a 3.8 buick or a 4.3 chevy V6 with a turbo setup I think it would be interesting!

Also Just to let you know mine is not as pretty as yours and when I said I would race yours i meant that in a friendly way they have around the same power and weight im guessing it just seemed like it would be neat expecially since they are classics!!!!

lol no worries mate. hey i had a look at vegas but i couldn't really find anything that wasn't alreagy a drag car. from what i saw they look very similar to a gen2 camaro. as for power yea there really isn't much to play with on the 4k engines but i didn't buy it for speed. since i've owned it i have fuel injected it and am now in the process of 'twin charging' it aswell. which i have not seen ever on an old 4k engine. should be interesting :)

I love the color I have a 1985 mk1 MR2 same color. After my 71 te27 was vandalized, I've now decided to restore it thanks to your video. I purchased an L33 LS1 aluminum chevy V8 and a T56. Cammed I'll push 400/400. A Z06 will weigh 1300lbs. more than my complete car.

thanks man, yea these coupes are getting harder and harder to find in good nic here so i'd say $4k is a bargain! dunno what the numbers are like in oz tho. i paid $5500 for mine but it is in exceptional condition. got a worked 4k in it, and right now i'm in the process of putting k series fuel injection on her. thanks for the comment and be sure to post a vid when you get her.
