I found a tiny baby turtle with little egg shell pieces on his shell while he struggled to find a moist spot, he was laying there drying up, so i picked him up, and took him in to give him to my friend, dillon, i dont know what type he is all i know is that he is darling. We put him in water and are going to give him to my friend tommorow morning.

We have a baby eastern box turtle :) He keeps opening his mouth tho and i dont know if he's geting an RI or if he's yawning. I hope yawning because he only does it when i wake him up

Turtle eggs are the hardest I have ever tried to hatch, after 4 years this is how I did it finally...I use virmiculite is a small container with holes in the lid. Make sure you squeeze all of the water out of it. Open the lid 2x a week to allow air in. Incubate at 82 degrees. As far as how long they hold eggs, it depends on whether or not they have even developed. Turtles can hold sperm up to one year and still produce fertile eggs.
